    I used a electric ingraver and worked over the area where it fits
    Then drove it back in and punched around it
    Works great

    hello, I am putting together a briggs&stratton 21B807 engine and I have a problem because there is an arrow on the piston. How to point it up towards the magnet wheel??

    Thank you for making this instruction video. I recently had some trouble with a head gasket on my 18 . 5 hp Briggs and your info helped a lot. The motor runs well now. Thanks again. - Dave

      Your welcome! They are bad about blowing head gaskets, if they made it with one more bolt between the cylinder and valve chamber it would have prevented that problem! Thanks for Watching!!!

    The design of the compression relief mechanism on these B&S engines are prone to fail. I was trying to see by watching the disassembly/reassembly of the head if there was room to install a small manual compression release valve by the spark plug hole (I installed a set on my twin cam harley). If the head is thick enough in that area to support a 5/16" threaded bore it might work. Your thoughts?

    • @philliphall5198
      @philliphall5198 ปีที่แล้ว

      I installed a new one after I seen the damage and every 3 years a new cam shaft
      I’m a small engine mechanic so it’s not a problem for me

    These engines seam to all have the same flaw of over heating, leaking oil to the point of engine failure. The one I am currently working on has a quick release oil valve on the oil drain from the factory and leaked to the point the B&S 16hp ohv with the new avs system spun the crank/connecting rod in half and destroyed the balance system in two. I will be able to fix it with used parts but might get a new or used complete engine because my labor time will really add up when you do any kind of rebuild.

      Mine survive nicely but I take care to never overheat them (or anything else). Less-careful owners keep me supplied with organ donors. The quick-release drain cap is UTTER TRASH and I replace all mine with common NPT pipe plugs like old Briggs used to use since mine did the same and a tang snapped off. I will not run those on anything I own.

    I did head gasket on one of those engines once. It blew on the side where that one did. It ran long enough like that it turned the head and valve assembly pitch tar black and it melted the pushrod guides. One of the pushrods also bent for whatever reason. It was so bad that it would fire as fast as it could but not start. That thing was a mess to get cleaned up. Ran perfect when I was done with it haha.

      I hear ya! Sounds like it was worse than this one! this is the first one i've ran into that melted te pushrod guides, i was not expecting that! I hear ya! Thanks for Watching!!!

    I think mines piston rings are bad or one is. Cause i done my head gasket and it fixed it from pouring burnt oil smoke out but still pours is and on and off

      Yes very common problem! It should be the same as in the video as long as the model number on the engine starts with 31. Thanks for Watching!

      @@fnaguitarplayer9 I'm going to go ahead and tackle the head gasket Ellie Mae first rodeo in that respect my additional problems with this Husqvarna zero turn are the fact that the belt or spring has been flying off since new I noticed that the drawing on a deck is for a different deck I have the two blade deck which looks like a very poor engineering job with two pulleys on one moment arm but just one bolt attaching it to the deck no bridge above the bolt from the deck to keep it parallel also I believe maybe even the wrong belt was installed from the factory as it has the wrong belt diagram the stamping on the valve cover gasket looks like it's laser etched instead of good old-fashioned stamped very hard to read

      you can heat it up till it get red then pour cold water on it to break down rust and corrosion or use a air hammer on bolt on crankshaft to loosen it off

    I have an Briggs & Stratton Intek 311777 Type 0143-E1 Code 000613ZD Which Intek Engine had problems with Head Gaskets & Camshafts Compression Release any other issues is my Engine Reliable? Was it New or Older Intek Engines that had problems?

    • @fnaguitarplayer9
      @fnaguitarplayer9  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From what I have seen inteks are basically the same as the I/C, cast iron sleeve being the main feature, but briggs was bad about putting intek on motors that were actually I/C, just like they were bad about false HP ratings. So i'd say its a reliable motor, they did have their problems, but was no worse then anything else from what I've seen. Thanks for Watching!!!

    I rebuilt the engine it had broken piston rod. It started and ran but keep breaking the keyway. Any idea why it's doing that?

    • @fnaguitarplayer9
      @fnaguitarplayer9  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If the flywheel nut/bolt isn't tight enough they will do that, thats usually the most common problem.Make sure the crank and flywheel has no rust on it. Sometimes you can take valve lapping compound and spin the flywheel (without a key) to lap it to the crank, then clean it all up and put it together with the key. Thanks for Watching!!!

      Most of the time its worn piston rings but alot of times on ohv motors like this, its a blown head gasket causing it. They are bad about blowing between the cylinder and valve chamber. Thanks for Watching!

    So i can't use that engine properly take off the troy bilt bronco mower and look for another engine keep that one for a parts engine then cause i do have 2 others that are just fine with no piston ring problems
    All those intek engines from 12.5 and up to 18.5 are the same engines.
    So now im gonna need another engine once i take that one off and just either fix its bad ring or use it for parts
