I'm surprised the customer admitted it ran with no oil.

Dangit!! You cut the video at EXACTLY the point where I needed to see how the governor comes out! Mine was knocking badly but nothing was broken, the rod bolts had come loose (or maybe weren't tightened), but I shut it off before anything actually broke. Cheaper to replace the rod (cylinder is pristine) amd even the crank if necessary, than to buy a new engine. But FIRST I have to remove the brass governor sleeve/bushing and NOBODY shows how.
Could you please take a minute and describe how?? Thanks!

Did you find out?? My dad wants me to fix a 16hp Wich suddenly made some bad noises and shut off and now he says it sounds like it has no compression and also that it sounds like it keeps spinning around after he lets go of the starter button. In all fairness I'm not keen to do the job but I'm at least gonna have a look before I recommend him to buy a Chinese knock 9ff engine for 450usd.

Question I have same engine if I don’t run it at full throttle is that better for engine or does it cause a dramatic loss in air cooling

What oil would you recommend for that type of motor? I have a 2010 lawn tractor and I used 5w30 synthetic and it's burning oil, I was wondering if I should use thicker oil. Thanks.

5w30 is too thin, in a Briggs if temps are above 40F outside ambient, use only 30W and nothing else but straight 30W small engine oil.

I had my whole fuel tank drain into the engine because the float or pin on the carburetor got stuck and allowed the fuel to start draining into the engine. After i replaced the carburetor I still have a bunch of fuel in the engine and I currently have been running the engine for about 10 seconds then opening the rocker cover where fuel is draining out. I have done this about 10 times and fuel is still coming out just less and less every time. (the fuel take and lines have no gas in them) Would it be possible for gas to have gotten to the other side of the piston and be accumulating in there? and if so what is the best way to drain the engine of fuel?

change your engine oil and leave the dipstick and drain plug open over night, that way all the gas will evaporate from the crankcase, just put a note on your equipment saying "NO OIL" in big bold letters, then refill next day with the appropriate amount of 30W small engine oil. DO NOT run the engine with gas mixed oil - that can cause it to seize up.
