This day it took us over 3hrs roundtrip because it was over 100 degrees, hot weather slows you down but on a cool day just little over 2hrs to hit the top an come down the same way. But it really depends on the hiker and the people you bring with you.
Google Veterans Park in Sylmar, Theres only one entrance so make a left when you drive in and park in the parking lot then just walk up the road like in the video, you cant miss it and if you do theres plenty of hikers to help you out.
hey saw you did placerita canyon as well you should try an all around trip from veterans all the way to placerita either from the bike trail you took down and onto the firebreak "trail" or vise versa. im surprise iv never seen you before im always at veterans then again i usually jog up minding my own business
I have before. Up Placerita to Fire road to fire station down to Veterans or up Placerita down to Olive View Hospital. The problem about doing a all around trip is that you have to leave one car in each end and a lot of the times my boys dont wanna do that. Yeah Im hardly at Veterans because im not a big fan of it. Veterans trail is boring, dont get me wrong its challenging but boring, you're fully exposed to the sun and yeah you have a nice view of the Valley but no view of nature just a raw mountain. If you ever see a guy out there with a Yankee hat with a GoPro on his head that will be me brother. Thanks for watching.
that would be the beauty of the trip, leaving no car on the other side, you know an all round trip to make it a challenge. but yeah its understandable, it does get boring after.
I always go in the mornings and Saturdays mornings with my wife and kids it's beautiful 7 years ago now it's quite the same but better
Yeah and a Lot more crowded too, but not too many people hike up to the flag so it quieter up there
