Only people who played this game game will know how fucking unbelievablely fantastic you are. This entire video was one "omg" and "no way" after another, well done
people who never played this game on Perfect Agent difficulty can't understand HOW GOOD THIS GUY IS, unbelievable. I've beaten every stage several times on PA (even WAR! and MAIAN SOS), but ATTACK SHIP only once (started playing this game about 2 years ago). by far the hardest level for me. EDIT: finally managed to beat ATTACK SHIP on PA several times... ahaha, and the smilie at ca. 25:40 :-))
The Carrington Institute run also illustrates just how unforgiving the game can be on Perfect Agent: one enemy with a K7 can kill you, even if you have full health.
I've watched many of the speed runs for individual levels before. I always wondered how many deaths they had to endure to get the fastest possible times. This, however, is far more impressive in my view because it involves beating all the levels in succession. In some levels, such as the Villa and the G5 Building, it's obvious that the runner has planned out strategies that minimize the chances of dying, striving for a balance of speed and caution. Not to mention a number of things that just never occurred to me, such as using a grenade to take out that robot interceptor in Area 51 Infiltration.
@@ThatGingerCuntFromTerminator2 yet it was still the world record when set, and the current record is just two minutes faster than this. It's not that he's not good enough, it's just that strats used to get better times for individual levels are nearly impossible to pull of in succession
At 40:45 there's a door that leads to a balcony and there's a locked door there. Can someone please tell me what's behind that door please! I've been searching everywhere and can't find anything.
Jonathan Mata-Mohamed Behind that door leads nowhere. Should you cheat to walk through doors, you have a good chance you'll fall into the void and die. Especially if you are in the main hub
Was this on an emulator, or are the cartridge and N64 both fairly new? I only ask because my game is much slower and looks more grainy. It could be my control sticks too being so worn out, but speedstrafing definitely does not go THAT fast like in your video. I can still unlock cheats, but real time is a lot slower. I think my N64 is crapping out...the PD cart itself has a problem with save files: It says certain areas are full, but they are not. I can't save combat simulator files to the game pak, yet it's supposed to hold 4 saves. I have 0. Recently, the single player files have done the same thing.
Good Old Days Gaming Watch videos of perfect dark on console, this is emulation so the record could not be accepted in the speed running database, or its overclocked
Most boner inducing game on the market for a 10 yr old... MESMORIZED ME...... SO much death and awesome, SOOOOO much rage when i had to buy the expansion module to play it but it was worth it not going to lie and helped other games too
This was such a copy of goldeneye. everything from the style, the sounds (the explosion and alarm especially), the whole feel. Yet...it still is a great game. it's crazy how changing little things make a huge difference.
its not a "copy" of goldeneye, it was a spiritual sequel to it. Its done by the same team that made goldeneye and used a lot the same assets. RARE developed both games and were not allowed to use the James bond License to make another 007 game so they made this instead.
+Hugh Egg So basically like +GabrielTheGuitarist said, they just copied their own game cause they couldnt make another james bond game LOL just be fucking honest weirdo you basically repeated in a different way what the original poster said. It is a copy of goldeneye. The main character is literally a rip off of 007, she's a British secret agent.
@@BigScewleo It's not a copy when you are the original designer. The inference of suggesting it was a copy indicates the Op believes that Rare had no original ideas. Which is not true. Perfect Dark pushed the N64's graphics to the limit. So much so you had to get a RAM extension slot. The graphics were so advanced that rare were able to release an HD version on the xbox market place. The gunplay mechanics were all fresh and different from Golden being one of the first console games to introduce alt fire modes on weapons. It also bucked the trend of having a male protagonist prominently featuring Jonna Dark's character on the box art well before demands existed for better representation of women in video games. Jonna Dark as character was demonstrated as being capable, focused and was not sexualised unlike for example Tomb Raider's protagonist. Let's not get started in the huge quantities of mplayer modes and the introduction of bots. Plus an early version of achievements in the form of challenges in single player and against bots introducing various unlocks. It was a very innovative game and stands far apart from Goldeneye. Which originally was only to be a single player game and Rare tacked on the mplayer mode without permission.
I rejoic'd heartily in this. :3 It also inspired me to make an attempt too on some of the levels. I guess this is the NTSC-version? I have the PAL-version.
I love the game Perfect Dark so much I bought like 20 copies just to get copies that could have Most if not all cheat codes that I can not get. Please let me have a copy of your Memory Card. Thank You!
Is there anyone that would let me copy their memory card for Perfect Dark on the Nintendo 64. I am trying to get those cheats code I can Not get myself, I try and try and still can Not get those cheats. I am trying to get all cheats or most of them. PLEASE HELP ME OUT! THANK YOU!
LoinclothRising It feels like I'm up to a million try's. I just ain't as good as these people that do these great speed runs. There's several cheats I can Not get Like Invincible, Unlimited Ammo No Reloads, Unlimited Ammo, Play as Elvis and like up to 15 other very hard cheats. I have tried and tried to no avail to get these cheats that is why I have bought so many Perfect Dark Games, if someone would let me copy their memory card with all or most cheats I would have the cheats I want. Anyone have those and many other cheats, I would like to copy your memory card PLEASE!
yeah this is not a real speed run in order to make a speed run you must play the game as it was indentded not to take advantages of glitches as far as im concerned this video was a speed run up to 0:12
any type of speed running was never intended in the first place by the developers so you invalidate your argument already. Technically speaking this is a traditional speed run, if you want glitchless then watch a glitchless run. This is done on N64 hardware and takes advantage of all its shortcomings and faults. You're talking as if this was a TAS
bro...in this case it is claiming its a normal perfect dark speed run, not a cutting corner one regardless, my opinion is, as soon as you leave the boundaries of the game where you normally cannot get to or ever near because of a invisible wall , it automatically right then and there becomes not perfect dark and was not played as intended by from the creators/programmers and developers. there are no excusses, doing shit like this on this video is not the normal game play, a game play faster because you know all the missions off by heart a.k.a a speed run of the game not how to cut corners and not play the game as intended. this would be under the catagory of tool-assisted speedrun becase he takes advantage of places in the game and goes wall climbing thats not the perfect dark i knew and completed, thats a different game
also i call bull shit on his claim not using tools to help him like no clip n shit becase no one can pass through walls like that in the beginning ive tried on pc and n64 or hours aded up its only possile with game shark or what ever or some p64 cheat menu also he just sticks near the wall to trick the viewers by sticking near the wall as if he wasnt but i call bullshit
im sorry but you have neen lied too, their not glitches there too convienent for the gamers speed run i think they bull shit about not using anything but in reality their all phneys im gona upload a proper speed run bewcause i have no life and i had played this game since i was like 10 back when it was released or what ever
beating this game on perfect agent was really hard, I still remember it 15 years later, this guy did it in an hour, unbelievable
I love watching this video.
One of the best games ever made.
GEEZ!
I always get a laugh out of the death scream at 9:48.

The most amazing thing about this video is just the thought that he beat Perfect Agent in under an hour. That literally blows my mind.
SERIOUSLY... this is a 3hr game!!! LOL
This was good!
I'm glad to finally see a Speedrun(a WR one as well!) done on one of my favorite shooters!
Oh the memories.
30:25 IS SO EPIC
The funny thing is I have no idea how that happened, I didn't have any memory pak plugged into my controller.
The Carrington Institute run also illustrates just how unforgiving the game can be on Perfect Agent: one enemy with a K7 can kill you, even if you have full health.
Awesomw speedrun! pure skill bro! loved watching this.
Awesome and the thing that makes it even better is the good old paintball mode, I miss this so damn much.

The way he used the c4 in the ice mission as well as stealing the golden gun from Trent. Things I never even imagined doing
WildeCard
Its segmented. He didn't really do all the missions in quick succession.
@@ThatGingerCuntFromTerminator2 Nope, he did this in one sitting. If it was segmented it would've been at least 10 minutes faster

It wasn't 10 minutes faster because he wasn't good enough.

Good run. I look forward to seeing the version with commentary.
I am very entertained watching this video first thing in the morning. Thank You.
Incredible. Just started panting again 20 years after buying it…it’s a bloody hard game!
I have to get this game again! I lost FPS virginity to this one, and boy am i glad i did. 10/10
Awesome videos mate, keep up the good work!
I want to see passion for this game worldwide!
I love hearing those enemies making those dying noises when their heads/throats are shot at
Damn that death on defense was painful
You're just too good.
It's funny how I've not played this game in maybe 15 years, but I somehow recall voice cues and dialogue bits. That's so wild to me.
insane speed run!!💯
Damn...i haven't seen anything faster than Chicago being finished lol.
Wow nice Defection strat
