I am not Catholic, but since discovering Bishop Barron's videos on TH-cam, I've come to love his homilies. This one I especially needed to hear today, and have listened to it 3 times already! And, I will be listening to it again today. God pour out His blessings upon you, Bishop Barron! I will continue to listen and learn.
That’s the way it is with Bishop Barron. I, too, listened to this particular talk 3x. I am 60+ years old and had never heard it explained in such a broad yet specific way. (Chestertonian Paradox there?) Oh, and all are welcome, not just Catholics. 😉
My name is Martha... and this parable is the story if my life. Everyday I try to remind myself not to be like Martha. I often wonder... if not Martha then who? Someone needs to be the host. Maybe Martha was meant to be the host... maybe it's OK to fill the role of host, but not complain or worry... just hurry and join Mary? Jesus... please have Mercy on all Marthas.🌻
In John 11:27, it was Martha who, in answer to Jesus said: “ Yes, Lord I have come to believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, the one who is coming into the world.” So, Martha’s faith is strong. Read verses 32,33, Jesus became “perturbed and deeply troubled” with Mary and her weeping friends. So, be the Martha God created you to be.
I thank God for Bishop Barron and how lucky we are to have someone speak on behalf of Catholics with such intelligence, clarity and wisdom. God Bless Bishop Barron.

Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I can see a difference when I am not focused on the Lord. I do get distressed. Now I need to practice personal time with Him on a daily basis.
I am torn from my prayers by many concerns involuntarily. I return to my prayers forcefully only to be assaulted by the devil with temptations and impure thoughts. I again return to my prayers rejecting the invitation to entertain these thoughts that drive me away from what I am doing. This happens often but not always. I know that I must ask the assistance of Mother Mary or St. Joseph sometimes which is a sure way to escape the attack. I hope and pray that I can persevere in following the righteous path to Jesus whenever this occurs. Let me never forget that I cannot overcome without supernatural help from above.
When you pray my brother in Christ, pray with a soft audible voice in the private of your room. Also, the Satan has been dealt with at the cross of Jesus. Col 2:15 After the cross the devil is our own thoughts. The only assistance you need, is of the Helper Jesus promised will come to us, after he was ascended into heaven (a higher realm; nót a geographic place). You cannot pray to a human.. 'Mother Mary/St Joseph', as this are unBiblical. Jesus also had to die for their sins. John 3:16,17 The Help is inside of you, as all distance has been cancelled at the cross of Jesus. Col 1:26-27 We have been made óne with Him! (It's only the carnal mind that still pictures distance).

Please Bishop Barron please pray for my healing for my children, my grandchildren, my family, friends and me from all addictions, mental illnesses, physical pain and physical illnesses, emotional struggles, financial problems, anxiety, depression and all cancers. Amen. God bless you.
In these times, the Holy Rosary is powerful. I've seen it work! There is no one better to pray for you than Our Lady. Christ has given His Holy Mother eminence at present. I love the first thing in the morning. Maybe not a Holy Hour. But at least a Holy Few Minutes at the beginning of the day. I have done that piecemeal. I will do it now regularly. The antidote to scattering. Thank you, dear Bishop Barron!
Well interpreted and expounded in a way that makes perfect sense by amalgamating the Abraham narrative with the Jesus experience. The old complements the new and allows the viewer to grasp the core message under the guise of ordinary events being reenacted in domestic person to person exchanges. The focus on the infinite brings the attention away from our finite and limiting self and onto somebody that is total fulfilment himself. Prioritising God will always result in God prioritising us, whereas the reverse attitude leads to confusion and entanglement.
