Bishop, you were just plain ol' Father Barron when my son 'suggested'--well, it was more than that, but said with loving and compelling authority--that I listen to you on TH-cam and just like that, I came back to the Church through the incredible gift of the Sacrament of Penance and the welcome of a parish that (a) had a parking lot and (b) somehow seemed to have a congregation that didn't chatter in the pews until the entrance procession. And I've listened to you ever since because yeah, the initial high fades a bit; my parish has not disappointed but now I'm sitting in the same pew with sons and their wives and a bunch of tiny noisy little grandkids, so further reflection on the gospel of day is welcome and needed. God bless you, Bishop.

Sad but true. At Baptism parents "agree" that they are the "first and best" teachers of their children in the faith. But parents cannot pass on what they themselves do not know. 😢
@@sandyv2195 I have a thought on that subject , I would say life is unpredictable and the choices we make influence our whole life. I happened to be baptized later in life at 46, that said if I was baptized at birth or in the years I wasn't fully aware of my choices I don't think it would of made a impact on me as it did being baptized when I decided to be baptized at 46, being baptized on your own accord has more meaning at least it did for me. Bishop Barron mentioned that preaching needs to improve in the Catholic Church. I believe he is right, but we are expecting sermons to entertain us today more than anything else. I also believe that sermons no longer challenge us because people will immediately head for the door. We want that 10-15 minute period once a week to entertain us rather than allowing it to change our lives for the good. We hear it but we don't want to cooperate with it or let it challenge us or change us. It is not always exciting! It is not meant to be entertaining! If we let it do in us what it is meant to do, we would have no problem hearing it and we would, in fact, look forward to hearing it as often as possible. God bless you Bishop Barron!
Congrats, Bishop Barron, on your selection to the Synod on Synodality! I pray you will keep the content true to the Gospel and the Oral Traditions passed down through the ages. Modernity is hardly receptive to either.

What a good word. This type of preaching needs a live audience responding. I found myself saying yes and amen while making breakfast listening to this.
What a great sermon, thank you! 🙏 It's funny because I was just thinking the other day about how sad I am sometimes as a former protestant who has retained some great things about my former experience, that there does seem to be a sort of drastic underemphasis on the Word of God at times amongst Catholics. I'm glad that you touched up on that Bishop Barron, because I think that sometimes, even as well meaning human beings, we tend to get baited into these polemic arguments and Catholics are almost afraid that if they show any enthusiasm whatsoever about this precious gift of the word of God that they will be somehow conceding that protestants are right about everything. We need to stop caring about how we think we'll look in front of men and women, and start caring a whole lot more about how we look in God's eyes! The Divine Word is one of the most precious gifts that The Lord has given us and we need to embrace it as such! God Bless you Bishop, and thanks again for leading us 😄
There is a saying, I can't remember who said it, But it goes something like, "God is the Giver, AND God is the Gift, humans are here to prove it." Its a beautiful saying.
Dear Bishop Barron, I hope that you’re reading us in comments, if you do, please pray for my grandsons Benedict and Alton Benjamin (cousins) who are both a puzzle to their respective parents and to me, too, who cares deeply, difficult to express, but I know dear Bishop Barron that you know the prayers more than I do (I tell Jesus silently) we are practicing Catholics except my four grandsons who stopped going which me makes me very sad 😢 Thank you Bishop, God bless you too🙏
Father I am doing my best to stay with the word. I do not think I will ever leave the Word of God. I truly can’t live without it. Gob Bless you always Amen❤❤❤❤❤
I heard the gospel in church today, and I read the gospel before I heard the gospel. And then I listen to it again with you, and now I understand, and now it clicks in my head.
When I heard this today in Mass, my reaction was that I feel so weak. I am the seed the falls on rock and in the thorn (the ANXIETY, the other hard life issues I am dealing with is taking up my thoughts, a legal case at the moment for the last 4 years). Also, I don't know how to have the Words, how do I know who to tell the Word to? There are 3 persons in my life who I am passionate about getting them to choose God. 2 of them won't have it. I don't mind losing my relationship with them by telling them what I believe they need to know. That being a 'nice' person doesn't cut it. You have to choose God. I don't possess the gifts of the spirit either it seems. Some say I do and other days it just doesn't seem like that. I don't really know how to deliver the Word with the Love Jesus tells us to, in the way that will have the right outcome. I think it would turn them away if anything. Example, it appears many assume that just being a good person, that God being merciful will accept them into heaven. My understanding is a murderer who believes Jesus is their Savior, who repents, who CHOOSES God has a better chance to get into heaven than the a 'nice' person who always does the right thing but never chooses God. Of course I would not say, "choose God or go to hell." But sometimes, in my passion it could come across that way. I will pray for the words, the spirit of Love, the gifts of the spirit and how to explain the importance of being in relationship WITH God.
Let the light of your Christian life be the greatest argument. That is the approach that I am trying to adhere to, and will do so more once I am baptised and confirmed. Jesus did not convince through arguments, but through being what he is. Good luck, and peace be with you.
Thank you Bishop, very inspiring. I also love how Saint Paul sais in his letter for the Jews, that God's word is sharper than any dubble blade sword. It is so effective!

God bless you, Bishop Barron, as you weekly scatter the seed of God's word to the culture through your weekly sermons. As I listened to today's sermon I thought about one plant from my garden that was started from seed but ran out of room to place in the garden. While all the other plants are flourishing from daily needs being met, this little guy, though getting water, is just barely surviving. I failed this plant greatly by not sharing it with another gardener to be properly developed.
Dear Bishop Baron, Thank you for always providing me with the insight and guidance so that I am able to continue to cultivate “The Word!” You are a blessing! God Bless you! 🙏
Dear Bishop Barron, thank you for the beautiful and heartfelt message of today. There is a passage in Matthew Chapter 7 that may be necessary to stress as a warning for people who do not understand the Word of God, which in my beleaguered country has been dramatically happening a couple of months ago: "26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice, will be like the foolish man who built his house on sand: 27 the rain fell, the torrents came, the winds blew, broke against that house and it fell, and was great his ruin." (translated from Biblia de Jerusalen with Google Translate),
For students of history the Bible is a chronology of the life and times of Jews spanning over a 2000-year period. For students of language it is the prose and poetry of that group of people. For some others, it's a collection of wise sayings. But for at least a few people that I know, who set aside a time every day to sit down in quiet and read it, it is -- as Bishop Barron says -- God speaking to them about the secrets of a world that is invisible and inaudible to mere mortals.
The Word of God. The living Word. The life giving Word. The Word that shapes and molds us in God's servants. Daily Catholic Devotions has readings and interpretation of the Gospel. Prayer especially saying the rosary every day grounds us in the Word. Being blessed by Bishop Barron, Fr. Mike Schmitz, Sr. Mary Grace and so many others who open the Word to us. We are truly blessed. Thank you most Holy Trinity.
« Whatever is is because of the divine word ». Christian faith in God represents the primacy of God as the Word versus simple matter. And, given we are beings of and from the Word as God, I should not be surprised to notice the trinitarian imprint of God as Thought, Freedom and Love in what makes me what we are as beings: free, thinking and capable of love: the three ingredients of the soil I am to God’s word. Levy Shalom

I applaud that you refuse to dumb down Scripture. You have a fan in this Anglican deacon. The Word on Fire "Bible" is inspired.
I never tire of listening to Bishop Barron
I could listen to his teachings nonstop.
Im an agnostic athiest. I listen to your Sermons Bishop Barron. Thank you for the lessons and insights into the faith. Even if im a non believer in religions I believe in the light of Christ and the transformative power os Love. I look forward to your sermons. Thanks and Much love and peace to the people on this planet.
Commit to Christianity and watch your life and very soul transform before your eyes. I was like you once.
Thank you for letting us know that you enjoy Bishop's lessons. He has a series callled Word on Fire, it was 2011 or 2012 when it was released. I learned so much. I always appreciate listening to gifted teachers, what ever the topic. I love scripture, & Bishop Barron & Fr. Mitch Pacwa are certainly gifted.
"Im an agnostic athiest. "
That's incoherent. An agnostic is someone who doesn't know if God exists or not. An atheist is someone who believes God does not exist. You can't be both. Good grief!
Come to His Church and receive the fullness of His gifts. Become a part of the Body which has Christ as it's One True Head. He will give you Life, and give it to the full.
Catholic here enjoying Bishop Barron every Sunday 🙏🙏🙏

Greetings from Brussels
"And The Word became flesh, and dwelt among us" John 1:14
Thank God for having Bishop Barron as our spiritual leader.
Thank you dear Bishop
God bless you abundantly.
No one who meets Jesus is the same again. Just like the wise man, after meeting Jesus they went another way back.
Thank you Jesus for meeting with me ❤️🙏🏻
Pray that the word of God will sink into me and yield a hundred fold. Bishop Barron …. Pray for us!!
This video in particular from Bishop Barron should be required viewing in all Catholic (secondary) schools, including and especially by science students. Thank you!
Thank you Bishop Barron for bringing the Gospel alive every week!
I will pray for you. For without you, we do not have the Eucharist. You are a better man than most for even considering the call to the priesthood. God bless.
Bishop Barron is a shining light who pierces the darkness of unbelief. Amen Amen. A great instrument of The Living God.
Good Morning Bishop Barron and everyone in the comments section.
Have a Blessed, Safe and Healthy week in the fertile soil.
No Rocks! No Thorns!
Thank you Bishop Barron, I have said for years that most adults don't know as much about their Faith as the children making their First Communion because the last instruction they had was at their First Communion. I taught Religious Education for 20 years and it was so obvious. GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS 🙏
Godbless

Thank you 1:50 Bishop Barron for your podcast. It's because of you that I have picked up my Bible for the first time in 20 years and have so much joy in reading the scripture s which surprised me. Christ is King!
I love hearing my local church's Sunday homily, and the listening to Bishop Barron's word, and contemplate the 2 perspectives. This week was especially satisfying. Thank you Bishop Barron.
Thank you Bishop Barron, you and your vocation and team are a tremendous blessing to us. We’ll always pray for your continuing dedication and clarity to help us.
God bless you Bishop Barron
I love listening to you Bishop Barron! You explained things for me to understand. Thank you and God Bless you!❤
Thanks be to God he gave us a Shepherd like Bishop Baron. Thank you Bishop for reminding me to 'cultivate' the word in my life.
“ this word that made the universe “ , love it !
God be with you Bishop 🙏
We can always always understand Bishop Barron.
He is clear.!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you bishop Barron, so much craziness going on both in the world and church. I awoke few mornings ago with a continual playing in my thoughts of the passage of where Jesus asks Peter are you going to leave me too and Peter replies to whom would I go. I was questioning all the confusion that's being preached in and out of the church and felt shaken but once that thought came and wouldn't leave I answered no Lord I'm not leaving but all the more listening to sound doctrine so thank bishop from bottom of my heart.🙏🙏🙏.
‘I’m going to let Jesus do the preaching here…’ - a wonderful Bishop Barronism! Thank you Bishop as ever!
So to the point, understand, cultivate and live it. Thank you
Yes. Agreed. The word of God is very meaningful. It has changed my life. Thank you Bishop. For affirming this.🙏
Catholic here enjoying Bishop Barron every Sunday . God bless you, Bishop Barron, and all of you as well .
The comments down here say it all. Wonderful sermon ! Praise be to God The Father Almighty! Glory to God in the Highest and peace to all! All of us still haven't really tasted the wonderful word of God,which can show us how to see and feel heaven on earth and get prepared to go there one day with the mercy ,love and help of Jesus Christ our only hope!....Thank you Lord for all you have done for us! Greetings from Colombo Sri Lanka with love for all people of God!....😇🙋
Dear Bishop Barron, Thank you, thank you, thank you! Sometimes I am either too tired or distracted or just can't settle my mind enough to pray and to LISTEN to what God wants from me, you are that telegraph antenna transmitting God's message to us all! Thank you! (I know it is an old fashioned term but it made the most sense to me, as a retiree where the "magic" of computer transmission will never be understood! :). God Bless you. Karla (Oreste's wife). Please pray for Oreste to not lose faith and to be cured of his bladder cancer. In Jesus name, amen.
Lord, allow Your words to penetrate and grow in my heart that I may live my life for You in the truest sense. Amen!
"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And before him no creature is hidden, but all are open and laid bare to the eyes of him with whom we have to do."
Hebrews 4: 12-13
Sowing the seeds of life... living together growing together, the wedding, the marriage, the family, in our hearts, in our homes and in our schools... God bless America.. Mabuhay/ Aloha...Word on Fire cast and crew
The Word leads us to the straight (not stray) path that God wants us to cross to reach Him. We can never go wrong if we follow His Word.
God bless you, Bishop Barron, and all of you as well 🙏🙏🙏😊
When I was 8 years old in church I had a vision of 4 men in a square formation walking down the church isle. These are the four formations for seminarians. I am also working toward holiness for God and priesthood. Keep my in your prayers Bishop Barron and I hope we meet one day. (Chaldean Catholic rite) Assyrian Christian.
I pray the rapture is soon. Jesus save me. Lord please change my life for the better. Thank you Jesus for never leaving my side, because everyone else has! Jesus! I PRAISE you! Even as I’m struggling providing for my children. I feel like a failure but I will keep faith because faith is all I have left! Since covid I can’t seem to get back on my feet. I lost my job for declining the vaccine. I declined due to my health conditions. I suffer from lupus, and heart disease. I’m now waitressing and so thankful to be working but I’m not making nearly enough to get by. I have two beautiful boys both are autistic. I’m overwhelmed because they require so much from me. Every month is a struggle to not end up on the streets with my boys. I’m struggling buying groceries I’m so discouraged. Jesus hear my cries I’m so tired. But I have faith! Jesus hear my prayers. ❤
Praying for you. Don't ever give up. You aren't alone. You belong to Jesus
Bishop Barron thank you for your words today;they always arrest time and touch the soul!
I also love Van Gogh and the bedroom at Arles painting I have and love for a different reason than the obvious thoughts given by Sister Wendy.Such humble beginnings are worth millions!
Final thought:
"The more I examine the universe and study the details of its architecture, the more evidence I find that the universe in some sense must have known that we were coming."

I did see one of 3 of this painting at the Musee D'Orsay in Paris!
God is Good God is the Creator of all living 🙏 things PRAY for me I'm having Hip-Replacement in August 2023 for healing to guide his hands to the surgeon while I have surgery done please I'll appreciate it 🙏 God Bless You I enjoy listening to you Thank You for being here I appreciate it
Bishop you always find a way to blow my mind.🤯 “God’s words are creative not descriptive”
Always cultivate...in season and out of season...like that 👍 thanks Bishop Barron. 🕊🙏🏻
Bishop Barron, as always. God bless you and all you do. 🙏🙏🙏
Congrats, Bishop Barron, on your selection to the Synod on Synodality! I pray you will keep the content true to the Gospel and the Oral Traditions passed down through the ages. Modernity is hardly receptive to either.
As I watch, tears are streaming down my face. To God be the glory! My cancer was successfully treated. I believe in you God the Father Almighty and the Lord Jesus Christ; I trust you and have faith in you; I trust the process of life, the flow of life, and myself; I trust God's timing for my life; I trust the timing of the Universe; and I trust myself. I am so grateful for all the blessings after blessings and blessings every day that I achieve it all; I am so grateful for all the miracles and my presence; I am so grateful for everything that I have; I am so grateful to you for empowering me; I am so grateful to you for loving me for who I am; and I am so grateful to all my guardian angels for supporting me and guiding me and blessings me every day. I give thanks to the Universe for everything; I am thankful for the realizations of my life's mission; I am grateful for the realization of my dreams; I am grateful for the loving relationships in my life; I am grateful for my awareness; and I am grateful for the successes I have achieved. For my enlightenment, I am eternally grateful. Thank you for the opportunity to learn and develop.Just as I was about to give up, a woman I'd met at a lecture in Florida introduced me to a business. This wasn't the first time I'd heard of this sort of thing, but I decided to take the plunge and invest $ 1,000 nonetheless. rhq - portfolio . id .After another 4 weeks of steady income, I committed to putting my funds to work for God. In the state of Maryland, people love me. I get great satisfaction in serving God. My thoughts are calm and happy. Even though things may feel hopeless right now, I am here to encourage you to keep fighting. There is no doubt that God will fulfill his promises to his children.
Muchas gracias Senor Obispo por todos sus consejos .
Thank you so much!
God Bless you Bishop, and thanks again for leading us 😄
Those are some amazing words!!! Thankyou
There is a saying, I can't remember who said it, But it goes something like, "God is the Giver, AND God is the Gift, humans are here to prove it." Its a beautiful saying.
Thanks Bishop Barron. Keep preaching. A prayer for you and those who are touched by your reflections
Dear Bishop Barron, I hope that you’re reading us in comments, if you do, please pray for my grandsons Benedict and Alton Benjamin (cousins) who are both a puzzle to their respective parents and to me, too, who cares deeply, difficult to express, but I know dear Bishop Barron that you know the prayers more than I do (I tell Jesus silently) we are practicing Catholics except my four grandsons who stopped going which me makes me very sad 😢
Thank you Bishop, God bless you too🙏
this was sniper shot of Preaching today, concise and razor like focus, Good One, your excellency!!.
Father I am doing my best to stay with the word. I do not think I will ever leave the Word of God. I truly can’t live without it. Gob Bless you always Amen❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you. I needed to hear this. ❤
A lamp unto my feet.............
I heard the gospel in church today, and I read the gospel before I heard the gospel. And then I listen to it again with you, and now I understand, and now it clicks in my head.
Extraordinary teaching, Bishop Barron. Thank you and God bless.
Thank you Bishop Barron. Greatly edifying as always. God bless you always 🙏
As always, Bishop Baron, your guidance to the readings enrich its meaning for me. Thank you. God Bless you.
@@arielwertlen6709 thank you.
without a doubt, the word of God yields the highest Return on Investment.
Thank you Bishop you restore hope for the future of our church In me I-hope they are listening. God Bless.
Thank you Bishop, very inspiring.
I also love how Saint Paul sais in his letter for the Jews, that God's word is sharper than any dubble blade sword. It is so effective!
I read the Bible with Father Mike on day 335 and I’m changed and I love your sermons thank you❤️❤️❤️❤️
Bishop Barron, thank you so much for making your sermons' available for the whole world on TH-cam; I am converting to Catholicism because of watching and studying your videos. And a special thank to you, and your team who make the extra effort in transcribing your speech and providing English subtitles for the viewers, which is extremely helpful for me. God bless you and your team.
Thank you Bishop and God bless you 🙏🙏🙏
Always luminous, but particularly excellent on the Word.
Dear Bishop Baron, Thank you for always providing me with the insight and guidance so that I am able to continue to cultivate “The Word!” You are a blessing! God Bless you! 🙏
Thanks Bishop. Every time I hear you preach , I learn something new . It truly enriches my soul.
Dear Bishop Barron, thank you for the beautiful and heartfelt message of today. There is a passage in Matthew Chapter 7 that may be necessary to stress as a warning for people who do not understand the Word of God, which in my beleaguered country has been dramatically happening a couple of months ago: "26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice, will be like the foolish man who built his house on sand: 27 the rain fell, the torrents came, the winds blew, broke against that house and it fell, and was great his ruin." (translated from Biblia de Jerusalen with Google Translate),
Oh, boy does this describe our time. True dat. Not fake news.
Dear God, thank you for giving us Bishop Barron to feed us, your lambs.
God bless you, Bishop Barron.
Levy Shalom
Thank you for the good you do with and for many. My husband and I have found peace in our journey together as we seek to be the rich soil for the Word. It is never too late. Again, thank you.
