Hey Nick, just wanted to say I really like and appreciate your videos. I am really glad I stumbled upon this video. I had questions about the Helko Werk Tassie that no one would answer. You answered them all. Great review of the axe and I feel it was a very honest one. I grew up in PA and know what the wood is like there. Thanks again
Honestly that’s a pretty killer deal for an axe like that! I had no idea those tazzie heads were so expensive! Went to get one for the handle Buckin gave me and I was blown away lol
Look at you Buddy, Nice quick review. That axe definitely has potential. May look into one myself. I would change the handle first thing, and regrind the bit’s profile. Thanks Nick. Have a good week
Nick, I bought the same axe a year ago. like you didnt like the handle, first i worked on it but eventually replaced it with a Hoffman 30" and really like it now. But i do really like my vintage tasi's that billy has taught me to hang. I enjoy your youtube sir
Get better soon Nick. I wasn't feeling well the week of Bunyan and man I was down in bed the whole week.. I am getting better and spending more and more time in the Woodyard like I was before.. But definitely get better soon.
HI Nick, thanks for showing that. I have been looking at that axe and considering buying it. You helped me in my decision. It is hard to see the profile on the website and i appreciate you showing it side by side to the Buckin Special. Helko has another axe that may have even wider profile the expedition I believe. I think I will get it instead of the Tazzy. Anyhow, I came over from Buckins channel, thought I would check yours out and I like what I see. Thank you for what you do bud. Have s blessed Christmas!!! Kyle
Thanks for this review on the helko ! Your camera quality is top notch even with the low lighting . I'm out on my garbage route doing my day job . This makes me wanna go home and split haha
Lookin good Nick! With the vintage axe market being a bit crazy”thanks Buckin”, finding a new go to is a good idea! Looks like it might just be a keeper! Love ya brother ❤️🪓💚
Its interesting as well because when people make you an axe thats meaningful part if you doesn’t want to go crazy with it and risk breaking it.. and then the other half is like use it heavy… some of these other toys are for experiments.. thanks John
Nick I bought the same axe a couple years ago from Lamnia and had the exact thoughts on the handle but the more I use it the better the handle feels. The bit does stick in ash but that's probably me... Nice review.
hey Nick thanks for the video! I just realized that after watching your and & Buckin's video's, you're right next door. I did not know you were from Washington Co. I'm over in Allegheny, small world. So cool to see you guys cut and buck. I have 12 acres and me and my young sons are out every night splitting and bucking. keep up the good work bro. If you wanna cut some trees i have about 10 acres of black cherry that I'm working on. Always got the fire going inside and out and husky's and mac's are singing.
I bought the same axe. Haven't used it yet. The handle was also thick on mine. Also felt the bit was a little thin for a tazzy.. more like a connie. I'm going to get it out and swing it. Probably going to replace the handle. Haha!
I think I have an idea I may do as far as the bevel. If you shave the handle down a bit i think it will change the whole feel of the axe. Looking forward to the video ;) and yes, unless you get that handle where you like it which is possible I can see you changing the handle quickly 😀 thx Killinger
G’morn’n Mr Pix’l😎 Aye, she’s a beauty of a pattern on that one! Unfortunately I have far too many chopping axes and seeing that my grandfather’s double is my favorite, I won’t be ordering one up! The original Taz profile is where it’s at. With merely a glance you can tell she’s a splitter😍 Hey bud, get well soon, and that’s an order!🤨 Bless’ns Brother, Tedd
@@NickPixelTV I found your ATV fuel strainer video during some research. Very helpful and clarifying. I scratched my head wondering how you did the cool spin-trick at the end.🥃👏 That led me to your main page. The axe video started playing. Rest was fate. 😆 The polished headed axe took me back to the famed scene in 2001's American Psycho... i.ebayimg.com/images/g/NMwAAOSwjVZhsldC/s-l500.jpg
Bro… good stuff 👍🏻 Wanting to pick me up a few killer splitting axes for firewood cutting primarily just pine and fur. Do you have any suggestions for me to pick up? Don’t really know too much about them but have been watching Billy Buckins for a while. Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks brother
This is a nice axe, but more for cutting/feeling, not splitting. I got a splitting axe and a maul for that. This one is good for speed and cutting since I believe it's a competition axe. I was trying to decide between this one and the expedition which has a longer handle.
I might get some work from an axe. I use hardwood and split with an 8-pound maul. No competition though, I'm 68 and I enjoy doing my own firewood. Thanks for the comparison.
I was sad to learn your axe was cracked at the Bunyan event. Don’t know when it happened but I almost said to some of those using your axe to take it easy but didn’t and I am so sorry
Ahh Marty not your fault. Really its mine but it’s a tool and can be fixed. At the end of the day if we made people smile at bunyan and taking in the whole summary of events what more could we ask for ;) I wouldn’t take that weekend back I know that.
I have a little experience with an axe heating with firewood for over 40 years and it is easy to see when someone knows or doesn’t know about splitting wood. Hope your handle is repairable it is a beautiful axe and I know how much you cherish it. Hope your feeling better soon my friend. 🙏♥️👍
I think the fiskars splitting axe is the ultimate light weight tool for splitting mostly straight grained hardwoods. The all welded steel handle, one piece wedge shaped heavy maul is the bomb for some twisted grained woods. The use of the hydraulic log splitter means you are old,and tired wore out,and ready to use some ease and application of common sense.
Awesome... I was looking at these too... Its a shame you didn't show making the changes to the axe handle on this video. I would like to see the process and progress. 🪓🤠👍

Honestly that’s a pretty killer deal for an axe like that! I had no idea those tazzie heads were so expensive! Went to get one for the handle Buckin gave me and I was blown away lol
Thats what I was thinking. ;))
I love when you say “you can feel it when you get into the wood” makes you sound like you know what’s up
Great video - Even grain splits pretty easy. I like seeing how a good axe handles those hard to split knots.
Look at you Buddy, Nice quick review. That axe definitely has potential. May look into one myself. I would change the handle first thing, and regrind the bit’s profile. Thanks Nick. Have a good week
Was thinking the same thing
Nick, I bought the same axe a year ago. like you didnt like the handle, first i worked on it but eventually replaced it with a Hoffman 30" and really like it now. But i do really like my vintage tasi's that billy has taught me to hang. I enjoy your youtube sir
Right on. Will see on the handle part.. kinda fun just messing around. And thank you for the kind words my friend
Excellent skills with the axe and camera as well Mr. Nick. The new Helko is sporty...
Thank you Brian
Get better soon Nick. I wasn't feeling well the week of Bunyan and man I was down in bed the whole week.. I am getting better and spending more and more time in the Woodyard like I was before..
But definitely get better soon.
Thank you Daniel. Glad you are feeling better now. Getting out and doing things in fresh air helps i believe. 💪💪
Looks like a nice axe. You spent your days off the same way I did… gotta love hitting the wood pile
Its the only way to do it J dubb. Feels good and thanks!!
As always Nick. Love your vids. Nice axes.
Thank you Chuck always great to have you here
Always good to see you swinging an axe! Take care, brother… hope you feel better soon!
Thank you John

that's a sweet axe nick i really like it may have to pick one up! also your camera quality looks so good. love the axe videos
Thank you, ps. What kind of sled do you have ❄️
@@NickPixelTV I've had a lot of sleds. but the one I have right now is an arctic cat fire cat 700. super fun sled
Nice stuff Nick. That looks like a fine axe you have there. Keep on chopping in the free world . Cheers
Good to see ya swinging axes brother! Love ya buddy
Thanks Josh, keep the focus
Thanks for this review on the helko ! Your camera quality is top notch even with the low lighting . I'm out on my garbage route doing my day job . This makes me wanna go home and split haha
Thank you Greg! Have a safe day and get some splitting in this week ;)
Great vid. One of the few vids I’ve found of someone splitting with a comp axe. Love it. Love Helko.
Thank you!
Great video Nick! Feel better Brother!
Thank you Joseph!

@@NickPixelTV I’d do it a hundred times over ❤️🪓💚
Great video buddy!!
It's been the only axe I've owned for last 8 years. it's treated me well.
Right on, its solid. I think with a couple little tweaks it will be a go to for me as well. Thank you
Nick, I'm so sorry I missed coming to Bunyan to visit you and Buckin'. Wish we were all closer!👍💪
It will happen brother. You and I aren’t that far. We were thinking about you but understand your situation.
Nick I bought the same axe a couple years ago from Lamnia and had the exact thoughts on the handle but the more I use it the better the handle feels. The bit does stick in ash but that's probably me... Nice review.
Thank you Mark!!
Hope you feel better soon back to 100% glad I found you on buckins channel stay elevated brother 🌲✌️❤️
Thank you Okami. Keeping the head up for sure you do the same 💪❤️

Thanks for the axe review 👍
Me: lives in suburbs. No fireplace. Owns no axe. Finds this video by mistake. Watches every second of it.
Great stuff! 🍺👌 (I learned a lot)
and left a comment.. sure appreciate your time here :-) I would get yourself an axe and get it out into the wood. You will probably have fun. Thanks

hi there don't know anything about axes . but if you make your own handles i may have what you need . . where about are you located john
John, I am like 3ish hours from you I think.. and I think I should visit there if you are feeling froggy 😜
@@NickPixelTV that would be a great thing , john.

Good video Nice content
Where did the head come from on the first axe you showed that was messed up or who makes it
feel better nick.. turn those rounds upside down so the knots are at the bottom , helps sometimes.
Thank you. Jjm i was running at about 75 percent today lol
Hey nick how ya doin . That Helco is a chopper for sure vary beautful axe . The Buckin s axe is a dandy . Be safe nick love wins.
Thanks John!
Good looking axe! I agree the handle looks a little thick for me! Hope you feel better soon buddy! 👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏
Did I see a "flick" in there Nick? Looks like a nice axe!
Spending a week with the axe man himself you pickup a few things haha thanks Todd

If you can swing 8lb maul you are doing just fine my friend. An axe will serve you well though for quick and dirty ;)
Bro please make more axe videos, you provided most details that other reviewers leave out.
Nice ax, I bet that new handle will make a lot better
Nice ax Nick.
Thank you
How much did you pick up the buckin specials for they look really nice!
They were sent to me by the Buckin and the community. They are machines for sure. Thank you
Sweet axe!
Good one mate.
I have one of these. It's a great axe.
Is that sassafras you were splitting?
Yes
Love that wood. Ever try to make a handle from it?
Start a Bourbon IV stat! Love you brother. Take care of yourself!
Thank you wayne!
LOOKS GOOD NEIGHBOR
I mean, we do live pretty close 🤣 Just pick me up when I get over there and let’s go to work. Thanks for the tips tricks and motivation, friend
Deadly!!!
Nice axe looks kinda like an arvika
U haven’t posted in a while, hope all is well, Maddi and I are thinking of you and the family, take care!
Jjm thanks for checking in. A lot in the works at present moment my friend. Just keep chipping away best I can
Hey I'm from Tasmania, why do you call it a Tasmanian head?
I guess it just adapted over time. The axe is a tasmania pattern but a lot of people here call it by tasmanian pattern. Welcome
I was sad to learn your axe was cracked at the Bunyan event. Don’t know when it happened but I almost said to some of those using your axe to take it easy but didn’t and I am so sorry

Hey nick just got me one
I think you’ll like it overall mine is in my truck ;)
👋🏻
Far from A true tassie in my eyes to call any axe a Tassie would have to had spent some of its life in AUSTRALIA at least!!!!
Buy the best…..Tuatahi
Too much poll to be a Tasmanian
Great Axe, looking forward to get an old Tassie out of Germany!👍🏽🪓🪵🔥💪🏽

Fiskies arent bad im not really a fan of the handle the profile is good though. I do own a few still prefer a hickory handle
So this is a wood splitting axe. Designed specifically for wood splitting right.
Id say its a mix btw wood splitting and chopping
Thank you Nick for the info. 🌲❤️🌲👊🪓
Hello Nick, saw you at Bunyan with Billy, I Was not Aware of your channel, Nice Axes, and Demonstration🚜🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
Welcome Larry!
Awesome... I was looking at these too... Its a shame you didn't show making the changes to the axe handle on this video. I would like to see the process and progress. 🪓🤠👍
Im going to do that soon got side tracked on another project ;) thank you
