- Once home to John Lennon & Yoko Ono then Ringo Starr. Lennon recorded a great deal of his 1971 album “Imagine” here. Great to see the gardens as most know the house but the gardens are rarely shown.
This is incredible! I’ve been researching Tittenhurst for a few years now, and have become quite knowledgeable on the history of the estate up to present day but to actually be able to see it live is really something that adds a new dimension to getting to know about Tittenhurst! Thanks for this! The Friar Park footage is great as well!
For those interested, these are the changes made to Tittenhurst since Ringo left:
- the house was painted cream
- the west wing of the main house (including the studio) was demolished and replaced with a new two-storey wing
- the swimming pool was filled in and reconstructed with a bomb-proof glass roof to cover it - this video shows it having more restoration in Nov 2023
- the Tudor cottage was demolished and replaced with an exact replica
- the lake was expanded and a summer house-villa was added
- a lake garden was added to the south west of the prophet and more recently a helipad added
- various roads added to the whole estate to ease travel
- the temple (where the ‘Hey Jude’ album cover was taken) originally had an empty chamber below its ground level, which was converted into guest quarters

Beautiful mansion and landscaped grounds A lot of money was put into this to bring it back to its former glory. I would love to take a srtoll through the park Thank you for showing this. The mansion is a part of history.

Looks like whoever bought it spent a lot of money on adding new buildings, enlarging the lake, adding roads, improving the gardens, adding a tennis court and remodeling the main house.
Yes, there’s also a helipad! Now owned by a Saudi Prince I believe.

O casarão branco já não mais igual do jeito que o eterno John Lennon e Yoko ono tinham deixado quando mudaram de lá em 1973 ,e o Beatles Ringo Star comprou e morou até 1988 e depois vendeu pro sheik que fez uma grande reforma ,e mudou quase ,tudo ficou muito pouca coisa igual estava desde 1969 até 1973 quando John Lennon e Yoko ono e mudaram pro Edifício Dakota ao lado do central park nos estados unidos o casarão branco já não está mais igual dentro na parte interna onde John tocou seu piano ao lado da Yoko ono a música imagine em 1971

The Gardens and Lakes have all been massively Changed by the current owner, if its the same owner as it was in the early 90's he spent more than 5 times the amount he paid for it Originally on making it his. He flew in Marble specialist from Italy to lay Marble Floors, through out when I worked there in 92 he had Kept the White Room as it was in the Video's Imagine and Woman.
wonder if lennons summer house is still by the pool the one which he and ono played chess in the imagine film from 1971
That’s long gone unfortunately, it’s a shame really, seeing as it was still there when the Sheik took over
