    🎼🎵🎶 Imagine if he stayed there,
    It's easy if you try.
    No lunatics to end him,
    No need to say goodbye.
    Imagine all the new tunes,
    He could've given to the world. Yoo hoo 🎵🎶

      First you'd have to imagine no Yoko, the one who drove him off the rails, but musically he was spent toward the end of the Beatles, so youre really crying over spilt milk.

    After Lennon sold it to Ringo in ‘73 he then sold it to the Arabs who completely renovated it but then left it to go derelict before Yoko bought it back in 2002,she in turn sold it to the National Trust to stop it from being demolished and or falling into the hands of property speculators,nevertheless a great and much appreciated video mate

    Loved the drone footage. Went there last year. Had pretty much the same experience, even down to the security guard coming out that building to tell us to stop taking photographs. We had a nice coffee around the corner but It was a long way to go to look at some gates! I wasn't expecting anything more to be fair. Another Beatle sight ticked off!

      Graham...Sounds like you've done some of the Beatle tours they don't advertise as I have...I nearly worked in Tittenhurst estate when a colleague said she had been asked to work there sometime around mid-90s and said she'd put a word in...I haven't seen her since...Anyhoo I haven't done Tittenhurst but I've done Hamburg Beatle haunts including the 'Rock and Roll' album cover pic (the doorway is one of several I remember and you have to cross ref. the album pic to check specific bricks to get the correct doorway) and obviously Liddypool...A few years back I was touring the states and visited B.B.Kings grave...I met a dutch guy there who said he prefered doing the Beatle walks and visits and he said he'd done the Pauls to Johns walk via the golf course which I'd done too...and he'd done the Hamburg stuff too...Seems there's a few of us Beatle nerds out there...Have fun...Lew

Another place we couldn't get anywhere near the houses, and we stayed in Henley by Friar Park. Had a few pints in the Row Barge. I'm running out of places to go to be honest. I live in Liverpool so I'm lucky to have all that on my doorstep although I've never walked across the golf course. I took the street!

    In 1988, the property was purchased for £5 million by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, former President of the United Arab Emirates and former ruler of Abu Dhabi. Zayed also owned Park Gate House in Ham, south west London, and would buy another property in Berkshire, Ascot Place, the year after his purchase of Tittenhurst.[During Zayed's subsequent renovations of Tittenhurst in 1989 and 1990, master recordings and films from Startling Studios and paintings by Lennon on the walls of the house were destroyed, and a three-metre-high (10 ft) wall was constructed around the perimeter of the property. It’s still owned by the Abu Dhabi family .

      What master tapes were destroyed there? I can't believe this story. Ringo even lived there until 1988 so why would he let pieces of John's history be there to be destroyed. He already lost a lot of Beatles memorabilia in an house fire in 1979. Someone should make a video about this matter and what is actually lost.

    George Michael bought the walnut finished upright Steinway model Z piano in October 2000 for 1.45 million pounds. It remains in his estate after his death as his estate is now used to benefit charities. The George Michael Estate loaned the piano to the Strawberry Field museum in the year 2000 and it will remain with them for the foreseeable future. George played the piano and composed his own music own it. It can. Be heard in the opening of the song Patience.

      Art is anything but literalism.

    • @CliffMcAulay
      @CliffMcAulay 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@markstevens1729 Thank you for that explanation/theory Mark.
      It seems with hindsight that at this time he was a manipulated junkie, and an early adopter of what later came to be called 'Champagne Socialism'.
      Possessions don't divide us, we are all separate AND all connected simultaneously... That at least is one of my opinions on the many dodgy homilies of this particular 'song'
      And like all 'listing' songs, it literally spells out the problems, along with his childish 'solutions'. Is it art? ..
      That is entirely subjective.
      Nowhere in his 'song' does he express any mature or questioning thoughts, nor does he invite us to' imagine' with him how he could use his vast wealth as an aid to reduce hunger.... Or fix anything.
      Sadly, he was probably too tongue tied with heroin and lazy idealism to consider that he was inviting anyone to do other than buy his record, and admire his confected virtue.
      It would be nice to think that had he lived, he would be embarrassed by this period and be busily using his many abilities and talents to make the world better, and safer for all..

      @@CliffMcAulay if this is your impression of Lennon, and art, and his artistry at this point, there is little I would do to argue the point. He is overwhelmingly acknowledged as one of the great artists of all time, so I’ll stand on that. His interpretation of division in the words was not political but spiritual, while it seems like your filter for the world is political.
      My take is not theory, but thanks for the faith, as theory is settled, peer-reviewed science. I’m simply following the history of his influences and not the litany of his human foibles. Your view seems to be lifted from the pages of the Albert Goldman book The Lives of John Lennon: A truly vicious extraction of every shitty thing he had ever done. I’m not sure I would have enjoyed the human John Lennon a lot, but the artist is truly amazing.

    • @CliffMcAulay
      @CliffMcAulay 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@markstevens1729 Hey Mark..Thank you for your reply. Your idealism and admiration for Mr Lennon is touching.
      I am afraid that all people are flawed, and Lennon's work, whilst being very popular among fans of pop music was undeniably influential to the sixties music scene. But it is far from settled as being 'Greatest of all time' as far as I know. Its too early to say..
      And no, I am no fan of Albert Goldman's hit piece. Sensationalism is rarely pretty, and Goldman, like many others before and since, merely destroys what he doesn't understand.
      But you make good point about the spiritual aspect of art in general and this piece in particular.
      I doubt that Lennon, like many addicts and angry young people, was thinking very much of a spiritual or universal love, as I opined earlier. But then I was thinking of how he treated those around him.(Screaming at the tape op in the film....?)
      So the question is...Was he a hypocrite at this time, or was he just a very naughty boy?
      In his "Imagine' song he reveals a lost egotist, telling everyone to lose everything, whilst he sits behind, as we can see from the lovely film...A very big wall, built by servants.
      Yes, he wrote some lovely songs...
