And, even if they did, they'd murder it by doing a bunch of wanky speed picking shit, instead of playing the solos note for note as they should be. Especially Phil. He's bad for that, and thinks that the hardcore fans love it, which we DO NOT. Joe Elliot has said some really despicable things about this record as well, when in reality, it may just be the best damn record they EVER made. This record is genius, and it shows what riff masters and musical wizards that Clark and Willis were. IMO, anything they came up with shits all over anything Leppard has done since Adrenalize, which, even though they erased all of Steve's parts, has his riffs all over it. They're bankrupt now, except for the typical pop garbage they do. Campbell, who wrote and played 3 great albums with Dio, has been a disappointment for the whole 27+ years he's been there. Just a well paid stump. Nothing more or less.

But, it was the last record they did that had any kind of metal tone, IMO, and without completely over the top Duran Duran pop sensibilities. I've fantasized of them returning to a High N' Dry riff based record for more than 30 years now, but let's face it, even with Vivian camped out there for more than 28 years, who is capable of such riffage, it is NEVER going to happen. I don't know what they figure they'd have to lose by doing so. Even if we were living a normal life right now, and could attend concerts, 80% of their fans go simply to hear the hits and be nostalgic, so they certainly wouldn't lose any money. It's a dead issue, though, sadly. The first 2 records are flat out masterpieces.

This song has been my obsession for some time and you seem to have pulled it of perfectly! How long did it approx. take to figure this one out (I assume you learned by ear)?
I was listening to it over the past couple of weeks and was finally able to dedicate a couple of days this week to it. I normally like to get a song really embedded in my head as it's easier to figure out but I've had a hard time doing that with these songs as I'm not as familiar with them. I really enjoy the process though. :)

I get very angry when these guys are not included in the regular list of "NWOBHM".my guess would be that because pyromania and hysteria were more commercial albums is that the bands who were influenced by these guys didn't want to say that they were because by the time they really made it big they were more commercial and that would make these other bands feel as though they were saying they were influenced by some cheesy commercial band which is totally untrue. These guys deserve to be alongside other bands like Judas priest and iron maiden.IMO.,..(oh and for some reason every time I think of Steve Clark it just breaks my freaking heart man. He was an emotional dude who drank way too much and taken way too early. I think he had so much more to give and I think that had he been the guitar player on adrenalize it would have been better with him still alive and in the band.
You could argue they ascended a simple genre and created their own. I often wonder what the band would have been like had they stuck with this style but we would’ve been robbed of such masterpieces as Pyromania and Hysteria.
