ive had this kind of stuff for years ive been collecting for a about 15 years now i have a ton of stuff like this and im glad you like it the more positive feed back i get the more i keep posting all tho the really rare stuff wont make it on youtube
This video is old, are you still there? Are you Mandela affected? Do you see the changes in the FONTS of Def Leppard, change in Phil collen name (was Collin 100%) how bout the changes of the Union Jack flag??? Let’s talk predictive programming with the pyromania cover art
THIS is why I love TH-cam....thanks for posting man!!! One of the coolest bands of all time and despite their huge success nowhere nearly enough airplay (especially in South Africa!) and in the shadow of too many mediocre outfits of today. Long live da LEPS!
I got into DL at the time of Pyromania and loved it at once but forever. Then I went back in time to listen to the splendid high’n’dry and on through the night. Then Hysteria came out and so on…now I am 52 and still rockin’.
I like this. Joe sounds, what, like 16? And yet it is still unmistakable as Deaf Leopard, or as they became Def Leppard. They also polished it up a lot.
I've listend to the E.P. version of the Overture and the "On Through The Night" version, and now this version - The Overture is a classic from Def Leppard (I confess I liked the E.P. version best) but listening to this one is... different, good find.
awesome dude. love the rare vintage sound. sounds like, it was recorded in a basement/warehouse type of thing. excellent quality. i would love to see more from other rare stuff, from lengendary metal bands. crue, maiden, ac/dc, metallica, megadeth, y&t, black "n"blue, zebra, helix, and others who namesm i can't think of the moment.
I was thinking for years that the EP version of this song had this same intro. I now suspect that what I thought was the EP version actually was the 1978 Demo version.
All I can say is, I'm glad I got into them circa High N Dry, only for the reason of backtracking, and finding out their best stuff was years before!!!!!
How did you get access to this demo recording? Good stuff indeed and the song only got better and better as they worked on it a bit more. This really is a brilliant song.

It truly is amazing how much Def Leppard you can discover.
Any and all Def Leppard is classic stuff and still fresh as the day it was released.

this band was definitely listening to Rush AND Wishbone Ash, easily sounds like an outtake from the Argus album
Def Leppard!

i love this, it's very haunting. not at all like later lep
They should really record Overture ....that would be epic.
They did. Twice
I would leave it alone with original lineup from 1977-1983 Pete Willis etc
yes he is
Why dont they play this nowadays as well. It's stupid that they mainly focus on their newer albums.
Thank you lesabre123
This is the original band indeed.
This is so different compared from the final version on the EP and OTTN
How did you get access to this demo recording?
Good stuff indeed and the song only got better and better as they worked on it a bit more.
This really is a brilliant song.

I thinks this was with tony kenning. This is not as good as Rick Allen

this song sucks.....the one from the album is WAY better...best song off the album
They certainly polished it up a lot. But this is real raw
