Can this be installed in the ceiling, between joists? If they can make an in-ceiling sub with a deeper cabinet to take advantage of the >6inch joist cavity, it will certainly provide even better bass performance.
I'll be VERY disappointed if SVS only allow "Professional" installers to handle this product. Like Graham said, "I do not need an installer to cut a hole in my wall and run speaker cable to my rack and equipment I installed." While not a "Professional" installer (I don't get paid), I have installed more than a dozen in wall speakers in the last few years for family and friends. Running cable from underneath or overhead, it's all fun for me. Sometimes, I've got to cut the drywall out at the ceiling to get the cable into the attic if it's not a gable end. Again, all fun and a challenge (which makes it fun). The only restriction I have it to NOT install an in wall system if it's Summer and there is no access from underneath (I hate hot attics). And I'm sure there are other Non-Professional hobbyist out there who are very capable of installing SVS in wall subs without issue. Hopefully SVS management reads this and other post in regards to this subject.
i'd like to know more details on the amp regards to impedance loads and output. also, now that they've packaged it in a chassis, seems a natural progression would be to offer it as a stand alone item.
SVS has forgotten who there users are, home theater DIY and enthusiasts built there business. I do not need an installer to cut a hole in my wall and run speaker cable to my rack and equipment I installed. Purely a money play to go installer only and keep margins high, just corporate greed. They lost a couple sales from me for sure.
A little disappointing indeed. If I'm to test it out, I'll have to have an installer friend order it and hand it to me. He knows I don't let anyone touch my gear. I'm also extremely picky with the details and level of finish.
Why limit this to installers only? Makes no sense. If you are worried about issues, require a waiver for those who purchase this to install themselves. 👎🏽
I am imagining it first that it’s because they have limited inventory and they’re trying to serve their dealer net work rather than sell them out to people that are not building custom systems for high-end clients. Probably later on they will be available to the public as they’re able to produce them in a higher quantities.
@@wb5mgr Maybe. But you would think with all the product launches SVS has done in recent history they would have the supply situation figured. So i'm not convinced it was something that simple.
Interesting choice being available to installers only......wonder how long that will last. Safe play for SVS to have it handled by the professionals.
