To the editor of these videos: You're archiving a show. Stop cutting out the audience reactions. The Cups song finished flatter than the broadcast because you completely cut out the audiences reaction. You're on TH-cam. We love reactions! You aren't going to get more people watching videos by making them shorter.
Agree, was really looking forward to the audience reaction after that. 'Saving' 5 seconds by cutting it out is bad editing by just plain editing in general.

Letterman got me through some hard nights when I was alone a lot. I’d love to be given a fair living for archiving the greatest career in late night. It deserves more than just being pushed online. These highlight moments are good, don’t get me wrong. But every episode and every moment of it should be restored and archived by someone who cares about it.
I saw the Anna Kendrick Cup Song as a TH-cam short a while back, and it so intrigued me that I had to watch the 'Pitch Perfect' movie, which I actually didn't care for all that much since I'm at least two generations removed from finding movies like that worthwhile, but that Kendrick moment there on the stage made it all worth while.
As a teenager, I watched Dave for the comedy bits, but looking back on all of these old clips has caused me to realize what a skilled interviewer he is too.

She was kinda perfect for this role & got famous at the right time. Good for her. She will be taking in Trolls money for all time & I’m happy for her. Get it girl.
Same. And i was one. He made this pretty awkward for her, even tho he was trying not to... too much jackassery, not giving her the spotlight. Maybe he's just gotten old here and is a little jealous 🤷♂️

I feel for Anna. She has so much talent, yet she struggles so much with self confidence. Her book is called "Scrappy Little Nobody," which is just one more self criticism. It can pile up. She might not think she's amazing, but I certainly do. She didn't look healthy here either, which makes you wonder if she was struggling with an eating disorder as well. I hope that's not the case, but if you combine the constant self deprecation and, her appearance in this clip, and the way Hollywood treats women, it wouldn't shock me. It wasn't just because she was so thin. I know she's fair skinned, but she looked especially pale here. Maybe it was just nerves. If that was a problem, I hope she has gotten better. I actually know someone totally not famous who looks and acts extremely similar to Anna, and she told me she had been anorexic. I'm not going to say anyone is too fat or too thin, but I do know this is a common problem, and I hope she's healthy.
Nervousness/nervous tick is more probable. Even, dry skin from the strong A/C is more probable. That studio was known for being really cold the way Dave liked it, but guests didn't. But, you thought of bathing habits first? What does that say about your POV of the world?

Seriously! The audience erupting after that performance is what makes it great. I love seeing these clips but man oh man keep them intact.
