I love how this is discussed so openly without judgement...if someone on a talk show here in the US went into this story, most people would react completely awkward & judgemental
aislinn deflects the 'romantic life' question beautifully, making it into a gentle joke... and the bit about merit is well-placed, pointing out gently she might not like to see herself as a 'here because of my looks' type female guest... nicely done. lots of comments about the question being sexist.... i just see it as having a condescendingness to it, and sort of implying a certain vapidness or great need to concentrate on finding a mate in the female guest, or struggle to find one... and a way to sort of wish to 'have power' over the guest by steering them into very intimate territory, belittling them somewhat.... and it's such a very common, apparently "harmless" question about whether someone is still on the market or not... though Jonathan's way of asking ("dating out there...?") was more along the lines of "you're having trouble finding a partner, aren't you...".... difficult to find the right words to describe it all, not my first language, so that's the best i can do :) .... in talk shows, these things are likely scripted of course, especially with comedians, to set up for a joke or some funny anecdote...
"You know what it's like when you're walking and then you fall over...." "Yeah, I know what that's like! AH HA HA HA..." God I thought I was gonna bust a gut... she is FUNNY!

Y’all act like it wasn’t planned lol
It was likely in his notes from a pre-interview. She's a comedian. I'm guessing she has some material on that subject.
The way he said it felt very leading. Like "I know you have a story about this. Here's the easy setup for it."
It's relevant; and she can answer it however she wants... Men get asked this question in interviews too,... what's the problem?
Aisling is a fantastic combination of incredibly quick-witted and utterly shameless.
I admire John Malkovich. He was such a memorable villain in 'In the Line of Fire' (1993). And he has such distinctive crisp and clear diction in 'Beowulf'. Truly one of the few really good actors.
Not to mention hilariously funny, even though he played his character totally deadpan in the two RED (Retired - Extremely Dangerous) movies !
LMAO made me laugh out loud when she described how dumb the falling over joke was. Aisling is a brilliant comedian.
"Whaps" might be my new favourite word ever! 😂😂😂
Waps
@Zoned 247 I think the word you are thinking of has an O, no? Acronym for Without papers...
@Zoned 247 that's very true!!
I'm happy that Aisling Bea exists. Too much funny! XD
It must be frustrating getting mistaken for John Malkovich all the time. I can't believe how calmly Michael Stipe handles it here.
Hysterical 🤩🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Francisco Oreiro Rial Are you short or did you duck? Because the joke clearly went over your head, probably even made a whooshing sound on the way over!!
Bwahaha!!!! I’m laughing so much I can’t type…😂
That comment was funnier than anything said in this video.
It's ALWAYS hilarious when a non-joke hooks you for NO REASON! 🤣
JM is one extraordinary charismatic actor. Loved him in « Burn after reading ». He was outstanding in « The new Pope ».
I've watched this (you all know the bit I'm taking about) like 50 times, I've shown it to people, I've come back to it and search it again every now and then. I laugh every time.
I feel like John would be the hardest person to impress, but he's definitely your biggest fan Aisling 😂
Im sorry l've never heard of her. She is hilarious, and a great story teller. Great laughs at a time when I needed I needed one. Laughter is therapeutic at times.
Me too. It’s my first time seeing her and she is just hysterical 👏👏👏👏🥰💖🌻🌻🌻🌻
"John Malcovich would never come into an off-license this cheap"
"Oh yes he would"
Cracks me up every time I see it
What’s an off-license?
A shop that sells alcohol.
@@loki2655 l always thought it was a betting place...ty for that info
More than welcome.
I saw Jimmy Page checking out the alcohol section in Lidl in Bangor once.
John Malkovich is one of those actors that get so much into their roles even when they're not acting it still seems like they're not fully out of character.
Rock on Aisling, you put Ross in his place so hard, it was magical
You do realise it was an obviously rehearsed joke, this is what rehearsals are for.
@@Sciencedgofood
Literally everything in the world is rehearsed in some way, shape or form
Lighten up
Like you said, it was a joke, it was funny and Aisling Bea is awesome, so what’s the problem?
John is one of my heroes. A true gentleman and fellow akward person
great actor, first role I saw him in was Empire of the sun but my favorite film with John in was Clint Eastwood's film In the Line of Fire with John playing a very good baddie.
Same
John malkovic in Of mice and men will always be one of my all time rolls to watch. Absolute incredible human
Aisling is one of the greatest comedians anywhere at the present. Possibly the contemporary Dave Allen. I do not say that lightly.
She is perfect. Stunning and hilarious 😍😍😍
"I don't think John Malkovich would be caught in a cheap off-license shop"
"Oh yes he would"
Based.
Two of the best in one place. good to watch.
When are we gonna get a female led celebrity chat show here, Aisling would be a great choice
She'd be bored by it.
That's a fair question. I know there's is one, but she's an older lady. I think it's called IQ?
The Girlie Show in the 90’s was the females chance at hosting a celebrity based chat show. Hence why they’ve never been given another throw of the dice.
Chelsea Handler!
When people actually wanted to watch it
This is Fantastic. She's just a delight in every way. But Every person here Did Their Part.. and did it correctly.
And that was how Aisling and John started dating.
Over time I have watched this clip at least 10 times. A gem
Malkovich is genuinely charmed
I LOVE her humor. Brilliant.
Together with Sarah Millican, Aisling is one of the funniest women out there in Stand Up. I wish there were more of her routines of her on Youtbe.
Not Sarah, please. I can not stand her.
Wait, Sarah Millican is supposed to be a comedian?!
@@nothingontheinside4635 thank you Dave. Finally someone with some sense.
Aisling is simply brilliant! Great clip!
I have watched this video probably 10 times and laugh every time! I love the two together! Hilarious!
She’s priceless , amazing humor
Every time this bit goes by I watch it. About 10 times so far. So friggin funny. 😂
Aisling was brilliant and she and john looked like they had a genuine rapport with (and maybe even crush on) eachother... maybe they already have, but they would probably be great in a movie together
Was tested positive for CoVid recently. John laughing at her SO made me smile. I needed that 😊😊😊
Get well soon
At least you didn't catch anything serious. Bottle o' whiskey and a comfy robe should do.
@@wrAIth-AI - John, bless your heart. Your response in how to fight the CoVid virus once it enters your system is scary and at the same time sad. If it were that easy, the death toll wouldn’t have been so high.
Lmao. Lighten up! It's the flu. Not cancer...
@@lewisgarland1259 - please take the time to do some research.
My favorite part "has anyone ever told you you look like John Malkovich" freaking hilarious
So glad I found you! You're a gem. Can't wait to watch all your work!
I met John Malkovich at the Birmingham Rep circa 2007. Lovely man.
I love how this is discussed so openly without judgement...if someone on a talk show here in the US went into this story, most people would react completely awkward & judgemental
Makes me think of Amy Schumer.
aislinn deflects the 'romantic life' question beautifully, making it into a gentle joke... and the bit about merit is well-placed, pointing out gently she might not like to see herself as a 'here because of my looks' type female guest... nicely done.
lots of comments about the question being sexist.... i just see it as having a condescendingness to it, and sort of implying a certain vapidness or great need to concentrate on finding a mate in the female guest, or struggle to find one... and a way to sort of wish to 'have power' over the guest by steering them into very intimate territory, belittling them somewhat.... and it's such a very common, apparently "harmless" question about whether someone is still on the market or not... though Jonathan's way of asking ("dating out there...?") was more along the lines of "you're having trouble finding a partner, aren't you...".... difficult to find the right words to describe it all, not my first language, so that's the best i can do :) ....
in talk shows, these things are likely scripted of course, especially with comedians, to set up for a joke or some funny anecdote...
these questions only ever being directed towards female guests is the detail that makes it overtly sexist
Aisling was really feeling John and it was a joy to watch, lol. Jonathan was basically didnt need to be there 😂
Love her and John well... Acting Royalty.
Stay safe
An absolute delight to listen to. Funny as heck.
"You know what it's like when you're walking and then you fall over...." "Yeah, I know what that's like! AH HA HA HA..." God I thought I was gonna bust a gut... she is FUNNY!
Well I fell in love a little bit there! She is fabulous! Loved the way she messed with Jonathan! Very funny lady 😊
AB is one seriously funny lady.
Naturally funny, she doesn't have to try.
Her story telling is just naturally perfect.
She's gorgeous too.
This is my 1st video of this comedian and I agree with John, she's funny.
Unfortunately I find little comedy in Ross, he's no Norton, Oliver or comparable American alternative. Without his guests he has less appeal as I discovered after watching him solo on the Big Fat Quiz.
