- Political dysfunction in Dolton has delayed the suburb’s ability to pay bills, torched trust with residents and led to lawsuits by former village employees. Now, WGN Investigates has learned, it’s also delayed the planned redevelopment of a dilapidated shopping center.

When I created an after-school program with grant funds in my neck of the woods, it was difficult dealing with local representatives. I found out it was because I was "competing" with one of their after-school programs and I was "stepping on their toes". I also was told that I didn't "go thru the proper channels". Such BS. They just wants their butts kissed and to take credit. Ridiculous. I continued my program without their support for 16 years and those reps aren't around anymore.
