Yes, Garrett Dillahunt requested to leave the show. A bit of background for you. He initially joined the show because he was extremely eager to work with Kim Dickens again but he never got a chance because she was “killed off” before the two groups merged.

Season 6 is a masterpiece, I would raise it much higher since even at the time it surpassed the main series, it hurts what happened in season 7...
Season 6 is okay at best. It's definitely the best season the shitty duo has ever made but it has problems like Giving too much screentime to freaking Dakota and June. Like fr June has became this badass legacy character yes, but in exchange of having her steal screentime from others. She had like 3 episodes for herself??? Also the Teddy thing could have been much bigger, much wiser. But ultimately it showed a lot that they wrote was just a mere excuse to have Alicia off for a couple of episodes and set up next season's plot.
@JosePerez-zk5wu it's way more entertaining than anything Erickson did. S6 clears the series, and it's one of Top seasons of TWDU overall.

Agreed. Lots of peaple put season 6 over 1 and 2. But no way, it wasnt even in seasons 1-3s league. It was something new and definitely the best of morgans era. But it was still corny and terrible imo. In dreams was definitely the worst episode of the series
Great list, here's mine:
1. Season 6 (amazing, every episode is worthy)
2. Season 3 (most people's fave)
3. Season 1 (thrilling start to the apocalypse and the show)
4. Season 4 (loved the first half, but the 2nd is sort of boring)
5. Season 2 (not a fan, but it still has Nick, some good moments and it's only above the rest of the seasons cause they're awful)
6. Season 7 (loved some moments and few episodes, but it goes nowhere, liked the visuals at times)
7. Season 8 (Worst writting and cringy acting and dialogue, just awful, but the only reason Its not at the bottom is that it has episodes 4 and 6 which I like and it's shorter and it finally puts this show out of its memory)
8. Season 5 (this was, is and forever will be the worst season, It could've been just 2 episodes or less really)

I got a real hot take on this where I actually think the later seasons of the show (Mainly 6 and 7) were the best ones because you had so many strong characters and I was never too high on the Clark family bandwagon. Travis and Nick being my favorites and both exited the show relatively early. Madison I think makes the worst decisions so Season 3 feels like such a drag and I'm constantly groaning at her character. Morgan/Grace & Dwight/Sherry's stories really grabbed my heart and gave me something special to latch onto. Strand is a fantastic constant along with Daniel. John Dorie is also such a gem. If I have to pick my favorite stretch of the show, it would be 6 and 7 because (while I liked the first two seasons well enough) I just never found Season 3 to be very good. Travis' exit was done very poorly IMO as well.
Hot take: I actually prefer the second-half of S6.

Initial plan was to make Madison a villain by the last - 7th season, Nick probably killing her in the end. Travis' dead was also planned, but not so soon, he requested to be killed off because of shooting Avatar sequels. Yeah, what it could've been...
Anyway, for me it goes like this:

I agree with most of what you put on here. Except season 7 to me is the worst one. Now what's a bummer is Cliff Curtis wanted to leave too however he was turning badass. That fight in the pit was like the governors fight in the pit. They could have just had him disappear. Fall from the helicopter. Not being shot. Frank dilane to me I know he said he wanted to leave but I think what happened is first I know he missed England but I think frank seen the shows direction and seen Madison getting knocked off too and said ya know what bye. Frank seen that his character was taking a back seat. Otherwise he could have left after season 3 finale. Perfect time and a good death. Made sense.
Most regrets, I wanted more of Troy and nick adventures.
Daniel Sharman and Kim Dickens gell great on screen. To kill off Troy again sucked.

my only wish is i had the hours back from watching this hot mess. words can't describe how bad this was.
I loved the potential of this show but the fact that they messed up so much with like bringing back troy only to kill him in a shock value moment and the overall decline with the tower season which sucked and its a shame cuz this show would of had a good ending but the endings ust so flat and dull its like someone baking a birthday cake to surprise you but when ya get it the ingrediants are expired and theres no frostings just the dry gross cake

One of the reasons I liked seasons 1, 2, 3 & 6 was the color palette they used. Stuff was more colorful but not overly done. I don’t know why they kept that bleak sorta blueish color palette for seasons 4, 5, 7 & 8. It made the show bland on top of all the story issues they already had. Also, the first 3 seasons felt kinda grounded and after that it went off the rails too much.
Cannot believe we kept watching this series live, glad it has finally been put to rest. Ranking from worst to best would have to be 5, 4, 7, 8, 6, 2, 1, 3. First three in my ranking were painful to watch minus most of 4a, 8 at least was a bit more cohesive writing wise compared, 6 was some good diet twd; nuke plot and Morgan was entertaining, first three had just a genuinely good and cohesive story without insane plot armor and crazy children taking out our favorite characters every chance they get. Did not make me fear watching the next episode.

All seasons with Morgan was bad but season 5 and 7 were unbearable

i used to watch TWD and FTWD religiously, week to week, awaiting the new episode, but man, season 7 of main show and horrible horrible writing and directing made me sick, i still cant believe that final fight in s7 made the cut, its not even 80s b action movie bad, its worse,
now with FTWD, it was already a mixed bag from the start and i got used to it tbh, but when the entire show is like that its wears you out and by 2nd half of like s4 it got boring af
