Frame of reference because of people talking about how teams have moved from city to city other than Baltimore... When he says you've never experienced a team leaving "like this" he means that the team was literally moved out of town, unannounced, in the middle of the night. To this day you will almost never see a Mayflower truck in Maryland because local businesses refuse to use them.
IIRC, Maryland's state legislature was debating whether or not to use eminent domain and seize the team that night before the Colts were hijacked to Indiana.
Like, who just dips like that?! It was like they had a whole bunch of kids that they abandoned in the dead of night and then went and publicly got married and adopted kids the next day!!!
He's totally telling the truth. I remember when they packed up in the middle of the night. It was snowing and the owner promised he wouldn't move the team until he and the mayor had a meeting. Ever Baltimore fan over the age of 35 gives Mayflower moving trucks the finger. You barely ever see them in Maryland any more.
This guy is a Baltimore guy to the core, holding that grudge for life and you can tell he has a sincere hate for Mayflower moving trucks lol. That punch line at the end was hilarious 🤣
My Mom's from the Bronx, and she grew up lovin' the Baltimore Colts. Still a Colts fan today, 72 years old. Baltimore Colts were loved by many all over the country. There's something special about that franchise. This comin' from a Niner's fan, and I grew up in NY lol we're a weird family lol
Ryan is one of the most underrated comics. His podcast, the Honeydew, is great. I wish that him and Tom Segura had a weekly podcast together. They bring out the best in each other.
The Colts were part of the community. We saw the players around the city and they were blue collar and talked to people like people. That's what hurt me the most.
Yup my family was from 34th and greenmount. The players stayed in the neighborhoods they worked normal jobs cause they were only getting maybe $500.00 a game so they worked in the bars and steel mill. It was a magical time to be a football fan in Baltimore.
As someone who is from Baltimore I LOVE THIS!!! I wasn’t around when the Colts were here, but I was about 7 when we got the Ravens the hype & hysteria were great. Adding on to the fact that we won a SuperBowl BEFORE Indy was even better
i’ve lived in baltimore my entire life (born 1993) and my mom still randomly talks about the colts leaving baltimore and memorial stadium being torn down. fantastic set, it hit a little too close to home but fantastic set 😂😂
I’m from Cleveland and I am a Baltimore Ravens fan lol and have been since they became the Ravens in 1996 and I thoroughly enjoyed the hell outta this !!! 🤣🤣🤣 Cleveland owner Art Model sold the Browns from underneath the city lol Bastards lol
Cleveland is totally different. They kept the name, the colors and all the history. Indy even puts up BALTIMORE Colts players' pictures at their stadium as if they played in Indy.
I used to be a mayflower mover. I heard an old timer tell the story of moving the team. They really did keep it very secret, a fleet of trucks showed up one day. The whole team moved at once. Quickly, because it made the citizens so upset.
"you've never lost you're team like this"...he said to an audience, in California (LA to be specific), who has lost, the raiders, chargers and rams multiple times over the years.
Kody Eldridge lol true but most likely non of them had the opportunity of being a ball boy swiped right from underneath them and like he said they got new Titties before Baltimore lol
@@DjangoUnchained I know theyre friends, ive watched Honeydew but im not talking about the jokes, im talking about his mannerisms. His delivery. His whole style. If you just took this bit and replaced just the tone of his voice with the tone of toms voice, keeping the annunciation and delivery and all that, it would sound exactly like toms performance. Idk about you but me and my friends practically speak in jokes and none of us copy each others delivery and mannerisms lol

Comedy Central, This is not happening is on the same level as The Chappelle Show. Bring it back. Keep Ari and Roy
"I knew it my dad I recognized his grip"
relatable
Lol, nice name bro
Yup
That don't sound right...
@@T.I.N.D Sounds better than "I know my father's grip, this wasn't it."
Best explanation of Baltimore football history I have ever heard.
🏆🙌
Huge fan of Ryan Sickler!
I'm a huge fan of your mom
He hung out with Tom Segura so much... he almost became him.
1983. Baltimore. Dad crying. Yep, I know where this is going.
Fuck the rat birds
Sports is gud.

It's true. My pop's is from Baltimore and remembers that.
I💛 Baltimore

you can tell by the shrieking "OHO!" before the "you know what you did" line that this is still a traumatic trigger. poor lil guy🤣🍻

nothing is more satisfying than skipping that intro
way too long
Daffy Ducks complain, Bugs Bunnies improvise.
That’s a for sure right on
I feel you on that however perfect amount of time to pack and smoke a bowl haha
@@thewayitwas whatchu say now chuck?ahaahahaha (stomps in the background).
I worked for a company with Mayflower moving. People really do still bring that up quite often.
The funniest thing of the whole bit is flipping off a Mayflower truck. It's so true for anyone from that era, my whole family included.
This crowd sucked, that was a great story
It's kind of outdated.
I've noticed the crowds on these seem like they're almost too into it? They like it but they dont respond how youd think.
Grown man cries because football isnt really a funny story.
@@Tores444 u missed the joke buddy

One of the most underrated comedians out there. I love this dude.
This is one of my favorite stories so far. That was fantastic. Thank you for sharing

Damn. Sounds like a beautiful time in sports. Wish I was there
I believe this story 100% because his accent is Maryland af.
Im from Maryland and i dont even have any close to a accent like that lol

Sounds country asf. Thought they had northern accents
Belsnickel Most of Maryland is country af.

“Getting Season tickets like my new favorite son over here.”
Lmao some of us here in Saint Louis didn’t even notice when the Rams left. Now when Pujols left.... HOLY SHIT people were pissed.
Imagine a comment not bashing the intro and actually praising the performance!
This dude had me rolling!
constructive criticism, for everyone!
I liked the intro and this guy made me laugh cry
The intro sucks

Baltimore has a videogame: The Suffering: Ties That Bind.

I grew up a San Diego Chargers fan my whole life. I know exactly how he feels 😢
As a St. Louis native this story hits hard.
yall got titties from LA then gave them back!
Weirdly enough, I've always been a Rams fan since around 10 or so. Then they moved to my state. That was exciting
something so simple and powerful about the line "they packed up in mayflower moving trucks, and headed west into the black"
Respect to the graphics department, your typography is on point!
I know somebody there or even somebody reading this is in a twin bed rn. But Its ok. You’ll get it together soon just don’t give up. 🙏

I was confused when I thought he said Baltimore cults at first!! Spun me out till I realized he was talking about football!! (I'm in the UK😂👍)

This guy is in Tom Segura's "9 Inches" video. I hear this bit on the radio all the time and had no clue it was the same guy.
Hilarious story from Sickle cell!!!
it really wasn't. it was pretty cringe and boring
Comedy Central consistently kills it with the front row audience members..
