These guys are as good as it gets live. I've seen them nine times over the years, I hate to say this I really think the pigment of their skin kept them from earning the real recognition they deserved. The Times Up show I saw in 1990 is easily one of the best concerts I've seen in my life.
That's BS, the reason they are forgotten over the years is lack of kick ass songs. Their style is great but it learns two far to the funk and so on, most of the people that listened to them were WHITE and wanted kick ass hard rock/heavy metal. More songs like Type and Cult and they would be legendary.
the recognition they lacked was from the black community...the white rock fans were the reason they were successful...
racism permiates all power structures even the music industry and can't be dismissed. however i think they are also too progressive/fusion to have been HUGE. most people want predictable song structures (look at pop music) and this band was constantly subverting expectations. that appeals to me, but not the majority
I'm not gonna lie... I am now just today discovering them... One of the most bad ass bands I have ever heard.....extremely underrated...
@@Albee213 Can't agree. The first 3 albums were loaded with great songs. Bigger issue is that radio wants to put bands into a format, and Living Colour defies formats. Here's a metal song, then some R&B, afrobeat, jazz, etc. Radio has only gotten worse with formatting as the years pass.

Your loss, brothuh! They have two albums out since 2003 and another one coming soon; I've seen them live a half dozen times since they reformed in the early 2000's and they are BETTER now than then (I also saw them several times from 1989-1993).
Eu estava nesse show, até hoje cito como um dos melhores que já fui. Saudades do Hollywood Rock, na minha opinião muito melhor do que o Rock in Rio.

YES!! Masterpiece, No.5 on Time's Up essentially has a big part of the musical motive critical to the power felt in Metallica's Enter Sandman.....They aren't in the Hall of Fame, what a crime!!

Auge da minha fase de formação de bandas, como baixista... Qdo vi esse show na TV, que odio de nao ter estado ali. Uma das maiores "pegadas" do rock americano, e ao talvez uma das mais subestimadas do rock tb... esses caras mereciam estar entre as grandes estrelas do rock até hoje.

Saw them in 1988 and again in 1991. Friggin’ awesome and in their prime.
My brothers were at this concert and I was too young to be there, but I got to see them 5 times later. But this concert was specifically outstanding, they were at their apex and played most of the Time's Up album, which is a masterpiece. Thanks for uploading the video!

Conheci o LIving Colour neste show, era muito pequeno e impossível de ir, mas depois de alguns anos se apresentaram no Palace em SP.....slc....primeira fileira em cima do palco.....que BANDA É ESSA !!! SENSACIONAL !!
Maravilhoso show, vi pela tv na época. Uma das melhores bandas de todos os tempos. Em 2010 estiveram aqui em Sampa, na Virada Cultural. Nesse eu fui, melhor show da minha vida disparado.
Conheci essa banda aos dez anos de idade, com a música Type, através da MTv. São sensacionais

Não lembrava desse show, era muito pequeno quando vi pela primeira vez. Ai fui saber dele no Pop Bola e fui ver. Showzão mesmo. Mas realmente é muito tenso quando dão close na jiromba do cara.
