To get my belt on the front pully I just pull on the belt and it springs on very easily.. Your Video was very helpful for I had my deck off so long I forgot all the hook ups..the first one especially. .I a75 year old woman,so just getting back up off the ground is the hardest part..LOL..The 2x4 trick will really help me.. Thank you!!
Damn you are a badass. Those decks are hard for even for me to put on. Well done
Dude you saved my life with that screwdriver trick. Thankfully I watched the video first, definitely saved me from a meltdown trying to get the belt back on. The belt slipped off once after I got going but I put it back on and it seems ok. Appreciate you bro!!
Haha I have had many cursing sessions before I figured out that easy way to get the tension off. Glad it worked out and welcome aboard
I just take a socket and ratchet on bolt of idler and move it like the screwdriver did,,,great video
I just pull on the belt and mine spring on.. easily.. try it..
EPIC!! You saved me a huge amount of time by watching a pro do it first! Thanks so much for sharing !!
You are welcome but I wouldn’t call myself a pro.
The screwdriver trick with the idler pulley was great!!!.....Not even sure how I've gotten it in on the past....10 seconds and "bamm"!!!....My belt was back on and snug.....Just wanted to thank you big time!!!!
You are welcome, that has saved me also from a few cuts and curses
Finally, an instruction video that actually makes sense. That BELT install trick worked.
Haha Thanks Larry! I try and just get right to the point.
@@MowerMike Now make one showing how to replace the DRIVE BELT, The one from the motor to the gear box at the back.
John Deere Drive Belt Replacement LA145 Video with Free JOKES! Lol
I already got one brother! Sounds like you need to subscribe!
Easily the best video of how to install a deck on the John Deere I've ever seen. Thanks Mike.

I appreciate the kind words. I agree there are a lot of lame how too mower videos out there.
BRILLIANT VIDEO! I learned exactly what I needed and the slack adjuster screwdriver, PRICELESS! Cheers Mike :)
Cheers Mate!
Thanks!
Thanks this means a lot
Straight to the point. Exact info I needed. Thank you.
Glad to help, now get to mowing
Great help with the sequencing and idler pulley trick!
I gotcha John!
Thanks man. Super helpful awesome video
Glad it helped that was one of my first ones
Thank Mike I have this John Deere in my garage for last 5 years but no deck So I am gonna get one
Glad to help. Just take your time and move slow they are fairly heavy.
Cool video! I never thought about showing how to reinstall a deck, great job!
Thanks
The deck belt trick is to wrap the belt around all the pulleys & the PTO
BEFORE you begin hanging the deck. easy peasy.
!
Haha good idear
Very nice I just tried all day to do this one for a new belt on it should I watch this video first excellent but upon putting it back together the left side of the deck is way farther over on the right side I don’t know what I did wrong something with those brackets that flange out or in and it does say out on the bar so if you could help me with that or confirm it would be much appreciated thank you. Also upon raising it up to level 43 or four the front metal support bar was rubbing on the pulley so somethings not quite right any ideas?
I would check your adjustment, those gold looking holder hooks screw up and down on each side. Sounds like you need to loosen those nuts so it doesn’t rub
man you are a life saver thanks
Glad I can help! Thanks for the comment
I believe you put the rear deck brackets one one way and the other the other way, which is the right way
Yep I did, I have no idea which way is right.
Well Mike. I never put one on before. Ur Verdejo. Help me good 👍
Glad you got her strapped on, got plenty more videos for that mower if you have any issues
@@MowerMike ok thanks for that help it s handy
Ty for the vid sir. Going to attempt to put mine on. Gt235 hopefully similar
You got this!!!
Thanks , regards from Poland
Wow, I bet they have some great grass in Poland.
Are all the John Deere decks interchangeable? Could I take my 42inch off of my D105 and put a 48inch or 54inch on it?
No idea give it a try. Will probably need atleast a new belt
Beautifully explained 👏 👏👏👏👏😎
Hey I really appreciate that, glad I could help
One step you forgot to show the mower engagement cable installation but still a great video
Ehe you have a keen eye Derrick
This was excellent thank you
Glad it was helpful!
i have a JD 150 and the mower deck is not all there can you show a top view of you 38 inch deck
That thing is long gone. Just google it
thanks, helped me a great deal.
Glad you got her strapped back on
You can also use a 15mm socket on the rear pulley to slip the belt on. Just move the ratchet like you were going to tighten it up.
Excellent suggestion!
Great time to replace the blades while I have the deck off, lol.
Nailed it!!!
I took mine off thinking… it is easy to put it back on.
Then I forgot how I took it off. 😜
Haha it is always harder putting things back together. Hope the video helped
Oh YEAH, the infamous I won't forget how this goes back together trick.... Then you do.
Thank you very helpful
Glad to help
Deck pins should always be face to the back to prevent pin knock out!
What about the break set cable?
Good catch make sure to slip it in its bracket
Awesome video
Thanks man
nice! i have a E180. have you done a cam lash adjustment/check video?
Yep sure have check out my channel have a Briggs playlist with one on it
This is a great video. Lets hope that it works for the John Deere 111
It should!
If you ever feel down or dumb watch Mike the mower try to fix his tire 3 times with household spray foam. You'll instantly feel smart again
Atleast one out of 10 of your comments is funny. Relax man is just foam. Try a breathing exercise, maybe some meditation. I like using the calm app
I have trouble put it on the belt, I did what you said but it doesn't fit. I didn't buy the john deere belt, do you think that might be the problem.
What model of mower is it and what length belt are you using?
How do u lnstall a engage and dis engage. Cable ?
That is a great question. The cable hooks up to the deck and I do not have one available to look at. I suggest finding another mower and just looking at how it hooks up. I put this on my to do list for videos when I get one in.
Well that’s what happened. To mine it just drove me. Nuts trying to figure what was wrong. So my son looked at it and said here s ur problem. So yeah I got a new one so that’s what. Happens when u don’t know what to look for. Lol
@@daleschroeder8661 It is all just a learning experience
Yeah. Like my Dad. Always. Told me experience. Is the best. Teacher lol. Even. If u never did it before Dk u. Live by St Louise. Illinois. Just wondering Yeah the plow. Works Thanks for that help to
@@daleschroeder8661 No I am in Texas
I have a LA135 JD. Keeps eating belts. I seen none of the pulleys are straight in line. Not sure which one is right or what I'm missing or not seeing . Bought it used end of last year used it 3 4 times put 2 belts on
Pull the deck off and inspect the pulleys. Maybe one has a bearing going bad or is bent.
Thankyou😊
You got it!
Thank you!!!
Glad to help!
Isn’t there a PTO cable to unhook on the LA145?
There is just an electrical connection.
Just remember, back brace mounts to the OUTSIDE of the hole, not inside as shown in video. Also the top of the brace looks like a letter "P" the straight side of the "P" faces the front of the tractor on both sides.
Yep you are correct I will eventually reshoot this video with those fixes. Thanks for the feedback
@@MowerMike The clip that you put on the right side that looks like the #8 is the front clip,
@@eduardojaramillo8752 They are just clips, doesn’t really matter
@@MowerMike they are different for a razon.
After reattaching my mower deck I noticed it appears crooked in that the rear wheels on the deck at, well, one appears further back than the other. I'm comparing each side of the deck. The deck still appears to be parallel with tractor. It's just that one side of the deck has a rear wheel that is further towards the rear tire of the tractor than the other side of the deck with it's rear wheel and rear tractor tire.
Is this normal?
rear hangers are on wrong mower mike.
Thanks you arnt the first one to point that out good catch. I don’t think it really matters though
He don't know the difference between plywood and a 2x4?
Nope he sure doesn’t, what a dumbass!
Dude. Way too much blah, blah, blah. Just get to it, for the love of God.
Why are you even watching me ramble, move on already.
