    Agreed, though the issue is bigger than just the current meta team. Maps/powerups need balancing and mechanics to encourage roster diversity (i.e. faction bonuses) would liven things up.

    War Howl shouldn't stack if it's used back-to-back. Start there. Aun'shi's ability in general shouldn't allow double use of an ability in the same turn.

    I gave up on TA ages ago as it was just too stressful to get the full set of chests and the rewards for the time spent per match were incredibly underwhelming. The improvements to stretch it over a longer period missed the point for the me as it kept the same number of tokens overall.
    I think with the introduction of guild wars they should really get rid of TA events and have it run weekly with normal arena then combine arena and TA into a single arena reward system with more points for playing TA to encourage active play. Significantly reduced stress to try and get things out and if you really don't want to play live PVP you can still get some of the rewards or the full with only winning a lot less (10 or so?) TA games in a week.

    I definitely undoubtedly agree with this! TA in its current state is broken in many ways.
    Firstly for me the maps can be ridiculously broken with the access to high ground and grass etc is not slightly advantageous to one player but sometimes 100% on one side and nothing on the other. The same goes for the buffs where one side often has access to more buffs than the other team while still maintaining the a safe positioning. So generally then with equal
    Teams the side with the more buffs wins. Definitely broke teams like Nox says doesn’t help either. And lower the points for last chest would be huge as others have said so that it’s not just a chore of a grind with less experimentation because it hurts if you don’t receive the last chest with energy and Req. token.

    You're 100% right, I'm already considering leaving, and this current, defective TA is a major consideration. I'm glad you made this video and some feedback from SP would be great. I've already skipped the last two TAs. Every TA since Ragnar was introduced, I've stepped into official discord to voice complaints about TA, mostly about Ragnar/Aunshi. It's worse than even you make it sound- you assume both sides are running a Ragnar team- some of us aren't quite strong enough to get Ragnar, and farming a cadre of 500 shard characters to surround him with at the same time isn't feasible- so it's not even a coin flip, we just lose outright unless we make incredible plays or our opponent bungles horribly. Also, in tandem with your bigger map suggestion, have the maps 'shrink', battle royale style, by dropping NPC artillery on the back tiles after a turn, to prevent camping, or at very least redesign the maps with all bare low ground in the rear and protected/high ground in the middle. Other suggestions: match players based on the number of shards their selected team is worth- many teams made of mid tier characters will be worth similar amounts but dropping in characters with a purchase price way over the rarity cap will put them in higher tiers so they're more likely to interact with similar lineups and less likely to get paired with people playing with scrub characters. Or when matchmaking, allow players to see their opponent and their team and allow players to pass X number of times if they don't like what they see (though I'm hesitant to suggest that one because I know SP would put a blackstone price on it).

    I am very much in agreement with Nox and the comments others have put.
    I still kind of enjoy TA but there are a lot of things that need changing. Other than the current meta, the biggest issue I have is the pressure to finish it in 3 days, this is better than it was but still not good. Maybe they could just change it to be more like normal arena - have it as ranked so you would get less noob bashing and have it over the same period as normal arena with the same reward structure.
    They could also then have it so that for any missions that require arena participation it could be play X number of arena OR TA, that way if you like PVP, play PVP, if not, play 'normal' arena. This would cut down on the daily grind (see below for rant).
    In terms of actual rewards, I play TA as I feel the rewards are much better than normal arena, I have pretty much stopped playing normal arena now as it is such a grind to get not a great deal in terms of rewards at the end - It should at least have a requisition scroll in the last crate (given how bad some of the 'rewards' from requisition scrolls are)
    I now find the game a grind, I try to do everything each day as otherwise I feel I start to slip behind in the game, this is now causing it to feel more like a job than a game.
    A number of people have already said that many of the 'quests' for the release events are just terrible - use ability 150 times, kill 500 chaos, use a different factions ability 150 times - they are just tedious. I find this especially so as I am mid game + so have completed pretty much all of the campaigns so there is no need for me to do anything other than raid them normally.
    Hopefully there will be some overhauls in the next few months as they have put in the explainer that there will be no new game modes for a bit - just changes to existing ones.

    Spot on with this. Ragnar stacking has broken it. Blokes in my guild never even used to play this mode because it was ‘too hard’ to win. Now they play this way and its a breeze. Had some great battles before kharn was added. I wish i could believe sp will listen but im not hopeful. This game has so much potential

    TA used to be one of my favourite, if not THE most favourite modes in the game. Right now 50+% opponents run this combo, Ragnar/Aun'Shi/Kharn, some add Celestine, some add Jain Zar, etc.
    1) it's boring fighting the same team again and again
    2) if the opponent doesn't make a positioning mistake or you don't get the favourable map it's impossible to beat
    3) it's ok to lose to an enemy that is tactically better, you can always learn some new moves from them. Losing to this team just feels unfair and frustrating
    I'm less than 60 points away from the last chest, have 10 tokens and some 40 points in redemption pool. I'm not going to play anymore because it feels like chore now. I have enough chores in real life

      And before someone says "Just use this team too bro", yeah I could, but I don't want to be forced to always play the current "meta". I like to experiment, run different teams every TA and seeing how they do, and fight different teams. Variety is fun, the same overpowered meta team over and over is not

      the idea to get all units move in one go is actually not balanced. TA should be made like chess, 1 char at a time

    I have two ideas: Create some Buffs for Teams from the same faction. i.e. when you have three characters from the same faction they all get +x% amount of armor. If you take 4 they get more Health. This could break up the op synergies that exist between characters from different factions, while you can still play them like that if you wish. Secondly, seperate the necessity to win from the energy rewards. Let everyone that participates take the energy. Instead give out more gold or blackstone + cosmetic rewards (i.e., temporary Profile image/border) for the top ranking players. This could make it so you feel more free to play around a bit (have fun) w/o loosing the most important rewards. At the same time competitive players get something to show off for a while.

    I agree. The worst for me is just simply how boring the matches against those teams is;
    Turn 1 enemy waits in a corner
    Turn 2 they kill your team
    Hardly any counters works unless your are lucky / they play lousy.
    A few suggestions for change is;
    - 100% agree that Ragnars howl should not stack
    - Cap the number of Legendaries / team depending on chosen rarity cap (common 0, uncommon 2, rare 3, epic 4, legendary 5)
    - Change Ragnars howl to only affect Imperial chars
    - Change map layouts to balance advantages between players and melee/range teams
    But mostly it comes down to a rebalancing of the Ragnar-Aun’shi-Khârn combo.

    The change I would most like to see that you didn't cover would be lowering the points to the final chest so there's less pressure. That would allow more people to opt out of meta, which would be healthier for the mode all around.
    I enjoy TA overall and would love to see it improved and more enjoyable for all.

    Most of the game modes are becoming chores and instead of fixing them, SP is adding more chores.
    I am not psyched for incursion S2... it was a drag. And I honestly do not feel like SP is interested in fixing existing parts of the game that are causing users to lose interest in the game. They are more focused on churning out new things and squeeze money out of the remaining players.
    It's ironic because this attitude has caused me to reduce my spending on the game by a LOT.

      Completely agree with you there. I used to happily spend money but now it's got jam packed that it's become a chore. So I stopped spending and don't do certain parts anymore to make it enjoyable again!

    My biggest issue with TA is the rewards and token structure. It's so stressful to be forced to make the most of your tokens and it emphasizes wins so much that people will play in unfun ways just to win.

    Agree 100%, TA has been broken and not fun since Ragnar came out.
    I heard one idea for an exclusion draft as part of the match so you pick 7 characters, your opponent removes one, you remove one.
    I’d like to see more tokens also so it doesn’t feel so stressful to get to end crate. If you knew you would get there and had more than enough tokens it wouldnt matter as much to have those OP teams.
    Even the ability to choose your deployment would help.
    Thanks for raising this. I used to enjoy TA, finding new companies and strategies, but now it’s just a chore.

    TA is broken, but I don't think small maps is the biggest issue, or solution. Considering a ban list for the base tiers of the game mode might be a better solution. Then having a "open play" tier for everyone who wants to play with all of their toys, against others who have the same toys.

    I wouldn’t change the characters. I would implement ban system, either at the start of season or you choose one opponents character to ban before start of the game from f.e. 7

    Agreed. There's a problem with Tacticus generally atm. There's 3 modes (Tournament Arena, Guild Wars and Legendary Events/ New characters) that are just hemorrhaging players. They're simply not fun and are all set up with the base strategy of noob clubbing. The strongest players get to unlock everything and the new players stand no chance. The prosperity divide grows every day.
    I'm a guild leader and did a poll with my guild. I asked them to ignore our results and just asked them if they simply enjoyed Guild Wars, the result was a thunderous 0/30. 🤦🏼‍♂️ Something is going wrong in this game..

      Very true. If it wasn't for ungrindable shards, the half of our guid that actually does something in GW would happily pass it too. Gw is universally hated by everyone. As for TA personally I don't bother to play it at all. New char event are a chore and zero fun, but most of us got used to going through them without paying too much attention.

    I already raised a stink last week when I was about to quit entirely. But I was ready today to write another comment on the Discord, asking what the hell they thought would happen with Kharne. The meta was fine before Kharne came out and broke the entire thing again.
    As is, I would like them to remake the maps and always allow for people to set up their own units. Place them turn 1, both sides, then play. At least that way I can decide who gets to be up front and in the back turn 1, who gets to benefit from Sibylls Infiltrate buff, so I can make my comp work. Yes, I'm still on the Yazaghor/Abraxas-comp, but I think it's fairly fair. You can win a lot, but you can be outmaneuvered. And it feels good to be outmaneuvered, to make mistakes, and lose every third battle or so with it.
    I agree with most everything else you said already. I just want to have fun in the game.

    Completely agree, TA is no longer enjoyable any more. I've come close this TA to quitting the game. Too many events, TA no longer enjoyable and the character pool is getting to large but nothing is changing to make upgrading chars any less of a chore (It was understandable when we had fewer chars but new ones are coming out quicker than we can keep up with!).
    Certain chars have always been good in TA but it was never like the state TA is now since Rag joined the game. The combo is stupidly broken.
    Personally I would like to see character bans or at best rework characters that would effect TA but not be noticeable in other game modes. For example celestines active grants her +1 movement. That will stop her hanging out at the bottom of the map waiting to nuke someone. Rags active stacking is a no brainer. Some chars could have an inspiring presence that would prevent suppression. Just random ideas but something needs sorting badly.

    I am all for a revamp! This TA was actually best I have ever done. I used a Chaos team with tanks, kharn, rotbone. Going first and grouping around rotbone and corrdius def gave me a good win percentage(80-85%ish) and kharn on his own is a beast.
    As for revamp I recommend some kind of draft and ban system. It might make games take longer but being able to ban a character or 2 would help the meta be more flexible and experiment with lesser combos. Or maybe you draft 7 characters and your opponent bans 2 instead of random 2 removed. I know it opens up a can of worms, but discussion is good at this point.

    As a new player the game mode is unplayable. I had thought the ascension caps would make it playable but I still found myself getting wiped in a turn. I still burned through all my markers though because in the conquest mode at least I could get a point here and there when I could kill one character or grab a point and get a few extra energy to grind.

    Well said Nox - it's not a case of sour grapes about losing a few battles - I've only missed out on the top crate twice (the very first TA and another time when I was on holiday) and I only enjoy the first 20 battles then I'm utterly sick of it by that point. Tiresome, repetitive, too much reliance on luck, not skill, I feel miserable when I get beat 5-0 but I feel miserable when I inflict 5-0 on someone because I'm not a megalomaniac, I just want a healthy fun environment which we can all have a great time and feel some camaraderie.
    From Snowprint's perspective this mode must represent the worst source of income for them (just a few people burning BS to play a bit more Redemption battles), so that's probably why they can't be bothered to tweak it. However, Nox is absolutely right that TA is making players (particularly new ones) uninstall the game - this is the worst outcome for both players and developers

    I consistently beat that meta team with a chaos melee team with Rotbone negating a lot of the turn 1 kills they would get.

    I do not play tournament arena because of this exact reasoning. I am a late joiner and have not completed a SINGLE legendary event. I lose because I go second in tournament arena. The gap is so large between players that avoid frustrating situations because it is not worth it. I do enjoy Guild Wars but I do not play at certain times because of the gap causing me not to want to hurt my guild because I cannot keep up.

    There are several other things:
    Number of tickets is too low, especially when taking into account the "auto-loose" you describe, making every loss hurt, especially if you are playing on common
    Players fielding high level teams (Ragnar Calgar Aun Shi Kharn Jain Zar for example) in low difficulties for easy points
    250 points is too much, leaving little room for losses, and again making every "auto loose" even more frustrating
    The meta teams are what they are, non stacking Howls might be a solution, but they're only one of many problems with TA

      I said it a few times. Make the common difficulty set to the beginner chars. So that newcomers can play there without the soul crushing experience of the new or older metas.
      Because even a Revas is annoying for someone that plays a week or 2.
      Newcomers will fight against chars they know and have a chance that way.

    Tournament is soooooo frustrating... I'm playing for almost 1 year, but I have a life, so I dont have all the awesome guys. I don't even try to play TA anymore. Last time, I went 0-12. The previous one, 1-11. It just not worth of my spare time (or my money)

    totaly agree with u! as a "new" player (next month i ll be a 1year player) i find it frustrating to play vs a large amount of melee cleaves with ragnar kharn etc... i think i won only 2 of them and not because im a "good" player but because they didnt do what they were supposed in order to combo and insta win... plus ofc for new new players (2 months etc) who have alot less characters, meeting a team like that in common rarity is... annoying the least... and finally a suggestion.. put the req scroll in the middle of the rewards so all ppl will have to play and grind some wins to get it but it will not be so frustrating for them to try and gather the 250 points ... many of my guildmates totaly ignore TA just because the stress is too high until u reach the final reward...

    We've discussed this at a high level and most agree all they need to do to make TA fair is make every mode Drafts heck make it a 9 character draft that way you don't control how your set up

    I 100% wholeheartedly agree. I refuse to use the ragnar/aunshi etc. combo because it removes the tactical from tacticus. And I hate fighting against it so why would I want to do that to someone else? I actually want people to keep playing the game. It's soooo boring to fight every damn match. I didn't even play TA last time. That's the first time I skipped it in around 5 months as it's probably my favorite. This time i finished the track but never once used that BS. Found several strategies to beat that team but it shouldn't be necessary. Literally 1. Don't let warhowl stack and 2. Replace the +1 move with something else or put it in turn 3. Solved. How hard could that be?! And how could anyone not see that that would instantly make TA waaay more fun.

    I used that team (Ragnar, Aunshi, Khan and etc). There are many meta team : Abracsas summon team, Calandis overwatch team, Black Templar team, Alep-Nul/ Rho admech team. Trey have weaknesses and strengths. Over powered the Ragnar-Aunshi team is a not new, why you Noxy keep silent for team Ragbar/Aunshi/Calgar/Celestia/ Jain zar - Calgar's activ ability + passive ability can kill almost full team. Sometimes you play against tanky team death guard or another, and you can't win - where are is tactics ? Each of this team used some imbalansing mechanics, Need fixing all this problems, not only Ragnar

    That combo is really a game breaker, however, having to face that combo on common or uncommon every 3 out of 5 fights is just destroying any interest i have in that mode, but to be fair it also happends when you find a Re'vas, in some maps it will just obliterate any strategy unless you have a character that doesnt activates overwatch and even then the 2 robots will absorb basically any damage, so the real problem is that there are certain characters that will break the game mode and if you dont have them or simply dont like to use them you are screwed, so you are forced to play the meta or you will not get anything out your time

      It occurs to me that one way to make it less problematic is to make players use 2 or 3 teams that will rotate each fight, you cant use the same characters in each team, so players would have less chance to simply spam the meta, now this has issues too in that newer players dont have many characters and if players have a big roster they can spam different meta teams

    as a newer player I just get mashed every time by people who've been luckier with pulls than I am. It's not fun at all. Came very close to leaving the game this weekend in frustration.

    This tourney was terrible and more people will get that comp ready for the next one if something isn’t done. Even on bigger maps the death ball will just move around just out of range of each other. Arena also needs serious change as it is a massive chore atm and probably takes 50% of my play time.

    For alot of games like this, in general the PVP mode has a lot of issues and some people really hate it and some really love it. However this game the love factor has really been dying off for the PVP mode for many, even those with the Meta. Because like you said its not tactical its just press buttons and this time you won.
    PVP can be a huge boon for a game IF done right, right now its not, but its actually a really cool strategic game where this really could happen if some tweaks are made, or its remade, either one, but do something!!!
    I think with the way the game has gone with new toons TA needs to stop. It needs to be recreated. The problem is this game was pretty much made for PvE.
    When it is remade, I think it needs to be about using factions, encouraging and giving big bonusses for synergy. Ie: All Ultramarine line up = Calgar passive gives +X% more damage, or For The Emperor - All Imperial units = +X% health and offence. Similar Chaos and other factions could have this.
    Further to this you could even make these bonusses seasonal, or permanent and then add seasonal bonusses that either tie in with new units or something going on in the Warhammer 40k Universe or Black Library.
    Either way, there are ways to revive the mode and not necessarily nerf or retweak characters.
    Rewards for TA, wow energy is great... But really its not that great. Why not give more XP for units each battle like a factor of even 10x, that will encourage peoiple to use other units as well as it will enable them to level them without books!
    Further to the rewards, minor craftable gear upgrades could be here as well especially as players perform. And on that note increase the amount of tickets, there really isn't enough and you really want people to just play this mode heaps because that will encourage them to spend and want to do more. Give them bonus books and/or coins if they have completed the total prize, and are still playing. Reward those who love the mode and keep playing, thats more compeitiors and more diversity of players and teams people can face its only a good thing!

    I never retreated from more matches than in this last tournament. Battle is over as soon as you see team/map. Also, when both have Ragnar team they just end turns endlessly

    I agree. at the moment the only comp I can run to be somewhat successful is an overwatch comp (i'm missing all the broken legendaries, calgar, celestine, aun shi, ragnar) and I still did not get the 250 points for the last chest. I ended up sitting at 152 points. fighting the same comps over and over again makes it tiring. however, I feel compelled to play just because of the rewards. if and when we have more full teams, we could get something similar to the tabletop stratagems unique to each faction/team to flavor it up and make it more fun to play.

    I have never liked TA and for a long time never played it. Now I play it to 250 points despite not liking it because the last chest rewards are too good to give up. My biggest annoyance this time around (Conquest in general) is the both side waiting outside threat range. I usually tire of it first, and thus lose.
    After getting to 250, IF I still can stomach the game mode, I switch to Common and and choose some silly team and just let the other player win. I reckon many people playing in Common still need the points in the last hours of the event.

    Yeah its completely broken that ragnar/aunshi/jainzar is a gurantee win on a coin flip.
    Its the only team i lost to in TA, 7 losses. All ragnar teams where they went first.
    One small fix could be rearranging aunshis passive, putting his movement boost to turn 3 instead of 2 would hold back the meta

    I agree for reconceptualizarion of TA. I play Tacticus almost from the beginning and TA was the biggest selling point for me to get hooked up on the game and be invested into it with money and time.
    TA used to be time puzzle, now it's indeed broken and quite straightforward.
    Maybe allow Ragnar stacking only on legendary level?

    There definitely are some maps depending of your North or South starting you have an advantage. One map in particular is if u start South, the barbed wire in front of the bridge and 2 valleys on each side of it, your at a huge disadvantage to start.

    Absolutely agree with making it so Raggy's howl doesn't stack, and is a big reason I am not playing TA currently, even though pvp is one of the more interesting aspects of the game to me. Also, conquest is about the only tolerable mode for me, because I despise the modes with buffs. I would really like to see a straight live player vs player without the gimmicks, not necessarily all of them, but at least in the rotation. Also, I've heard it alluded to, and hopefully is actually coming, Epic rarity bracket.

    100% completely agree with you nox. i tried it a couple of times a while ago but have completely refused to play the mode since. even before the meta you've highlighted in your vid, there has always been a specific meta team and if you arent using it then you will never do well im the mode. definitely needs a serious rework

    I agree with you. It took me a while to like TA mode, but now, it's the mode i liked the most after guild raids, even though I know it has the broken combo of aun'shi + ragnar + kharn, I know that i won't get those characters unless i get extremely lucky... that's a little bit annoying.

    Aunshi's refresh STACKING abilities on the same turn is the issue. That and the move shenanagins.
    With a majority of maps its just not a winnable situation. and when you open a game and with 100% certainty know you've defeinitely lost then its a real feelsbad and creates a toxic environment.

    Agreed, its so disheartening to see the combo, especially if you dont like using/playing the meta. Your changes sound great. I'd potentially add that Ragnar's howl should also only apply to adjacent targets, wouldn't make a massive difference, but would bring it more in line.

    Maybe make it so aunshi recharge cannot be used on the same turn it’s done? Changing the +1 movement also sounds good. More radical change, but making the mode have alternate activations rather than igougo might solve this as well. This would reduce the impact of an alpha strike drastically. But this is opening a totally different can of worms. Myself I always play in common difficulty even tho I could play in rare, I’ve plenty of S1 and above. And I do have Ragnar, aunshi and Celestine, so I could do the Ragnar team. But in common matches are more casual and less meta, and I find it to be a much more efficient way to farm all the energy and reach the requisition scroll.

    100% agree, most of my guild has stopped playing this mode out of frustration, and the few that do only do it for the energy grind. Would like to see character combos banned like (e.g. you can select one character, but based on this it greys out other characters, forcing more unique combos).

    Another option would be to include a ”rate your team”-function that affected standing.
    Not downvoting but a way where you could give extra points to an opposition depending on their team & play.

    On paper TA is a game mode i thought id love but i just hate it. Same teams all the time and not really any strategy. The rarity doesn't matter if someone is fielding legendary characters due to their ability's. They need to cap characters based on overall power so newer players stop running into these characters.

    Making changes to characters based on current meta in just one run of one game mode would be overreacting imo. Also probably something that mostly affects top ranks: this was I think the 2nd TA where I’ve reached the last chest (with 4 losses on the way iirc, so pretty decent w/l), and I’ve not run into this problem. The far bigger problem with TA for me is that it requires way too many battles for the energy rewards, and the 12 token cap is way too low. I’ve never had trouble finding a match, so idk why is it even needed. Same problem with arena really

    A twist I would suggest for Tournament Arena would be to have a rotating pool of available characters available. Say they see a meta dominating team forming, set the next round to take some of those characters out of the next tournament, so that we end up needing to come up with a new best team each season, and because we will probably make different picks, at least initially, there would be more diversity of team selection.

    I think it also depends on what type of TA we have. I really enjoyed the TA with the power ups. It made both sides move even to spots that might get targeted to get those boosts. When it is point capture all that will happen id you move juat outside or character ranges and it is a game of chicken on big maps. With whoever went first having a massive advantage.

    If not Ragnar+Aun'Shi, there would be overwatch as OP again, or summoners. I would add a rule to roster selection in TA - if a character dies in a battle, you cannot select this character for the next 3 battles. Otherwise, there will eventually be some another dominating meta and everyone would complain about it.

    The problem is legendary events. Once they’ve passed that’s it. Legendary events need to rotate, even if future rotations only appear for those that haven’t unlocked the character.
    Could also consider a set up like Star Wars GoH- legendary events are always available but only award the character to those that haven’t previously completed
    If new players are not given a ramp they lose interest.

    Yeah there are changes needed for sure. Like right now the only thing keeps me in this game is the fact that I can collect cool characters, but that is really about it. Arena is just a painfull grind, GW is just arena on horrible maps which I hate playing on. Legendary events are fine up untill I get to the point where I have to do half an hour killing infinitely spawning enemies... New character releases, like they are just friking chores to do. Doing 150 abilities is not fun, it's just a friking chore. As for TA, I only really played that mode to get shards for characters which I don't have, but I never really liked 1v1 pvp. But definitely TA was the most fun when I was against a team which I never saw before, and if it was a tight mach, so both of us had a good chance of winning. As for what to do with ragnar. No clue. Like if they nerf the ragnar+aun'shi combo, It will just make it so that in regular arena I really only have 1 team which I am doing. It will make a lot of characters in regular arena from useful and good into unusable, because the amount of diamond characters scattered all over in arena. As for example the new dark angel character, I am upgrading him, because I can run him in arena with the ragnar team, and he will not gonna do anything against diamond characters, unless he crits. Same with the banshee, her active if crits it's amazing, if not it will just give a scratch on diamond characters. I could ramble about a lot of things here, but this video is about TA and it was never my mode in the first place.

    I didn't really have a problem with that meta, my worst matchup was Baraqiel + Sarquael plasma charge, but I only saw it 2-3 times.
    Only thing I would like is more tokens, maybe double the regeneration rate. I was 242/250 this time at the end. I had plenty of points in Redemption pool, but you can only watch 2 ads every day to play them, and there's no chance I'm paying 110 (or more) BS for a chance to maybe get 0-7 points.
    More tokens would give less frustrations about meta's as well, as you just move on to the next one and not meet that meta...
    The more time for TA that they changed a few months ago is great!

      Yeah more time - even adding one more day **at the end** (having another workday with 12 token cap still in place would do nothing), and even more importantly, getting rid of the 12 token cap would make it *so* much less frustrating. And perhaps add some ban system if ppl are so concerned with the meta. I’ve played 5x tau this last event and got the last chest just fine (a bit of clutch because as always for me it’s a last minute rush)

    Ragnar, anushi and melee line up on small map... They move up, keep out of range, round two they get the extra range and wipe you out. It is bull toot. Faced so many of those set ups and just get melted. It's rediculous.
    Yhazagor and abraxas is another tired combo. Not as unbeatable but just another one of those... Ah here we go. Creep yhaz forward and if you move within range as you need to try kill the other team, he does the switcharoo and abraxas summons cause havoc.

    Totally agree. I think at least starting with Ragnar active not stacking using Aunshi may make things much better. Also, I've heard a lot of complains on Celestine from people using overwatch teams. She can break 3 overwatch chars and it's really too much

    TA is my favorite game mode by far. I feel like it is insanely fun and there have been so many cool gameplay moments. That said there are plenty of ways to get a turn 2 win but yea you do encounter a lot of the Ragnar,aunshi combo teams and it’s not fun. Would love a revamp or just new additions because I’m sure they’d come up with something great

I actually felt bad but those xp books are real hard to come by so I used the team to get to the final crate. I did use the rest of my tokens to go into games and immediately retreat so I guess I'm not a complete monster...

    It’s not even the meta, the mode just sucks. It’s a grind with too many unbalanced maps. The problem is you need a high win rate to get the awards so if you run into a meta team or an unbalanced map, poor RNG etc it hurts and is massively demotivating. If they reduced the points required to get the final chest by about a third with the same number of tokens available it wouldn’t be so bad.

    I said if the game isn't fun before (at the guardsmen issue) on the forum and Trent gave his usual confrontational way, so I gave up talking on the forum and to SP.
    Don't see the point of talking still really, but I agree with your points.
    I think it's easily solved by:
    Preventing first turn attacking, or make first turn do 0 damage on attack (all first turn attacks are blocked 100% block chance for example)
    Remove the smaller maps.
    Make Aunshi unable to use the ability on a character that has used an active that turn.
    That way you don't break the Aunshi abilities or the ragnar howl and it's probs easier to implement.
    I play down on lowest tier in TA just to get my relic rewards and don't care much about my ranking anymore because of what you said.

    Obviously some maps are just ridiculous where one player gets high ground and tall grass and the other player has nothing.
    I think we should have time to deploy characters and I like the 7 character sub bench.
    Obviously for the game as a whole character balance is a major ongoing issue. And I get it newer characters have to be attractive but to a point. I mean at the end of the day this isn't a new IP a lot of us treat this game as 40k pòkemon we are going to collect these characters either way.

    A misconception that if you win in TA, you defeated the opponent. There's so much rng that defeated the opponent not you.
    There's no time for complications, it's no chess, it's a pvp, that should be done in 1-2 minutes. You expect fair tactical depth? Go Rock Paper Scissors. It's the same, no more, the map included. And remember, you don't have to win every battle, but you want to get 250 points in the end. So even in losing, you can score points. Never quit.
    I run various teams in the different modes, testing them, always finishing around top 300-600, if I have enough time to play. It's not granted, it's achieved in unbalanced fights, sometimes I am favoured, sometimes the opponents. The point is, no matter the map, the teams, could you achieve your best result in that particular battle? If yes, you can reach to a bit higher in ranks then me, I used to do errors. There are 0-5 /5-0 pts wipe-outs, coinflips yes, but not only that.
    But there're top 10-20 leader on the board, with way more points than me, and some of them are regularly there. Coincidence? No. Does that justify unbalance? No.
    The problem rather is the powercreep in these characters to be addressed. You could rant about it more. No it's not valid that new characters must be stronger to appeal. They have to be different only.

    TA was my favorite mode, then the Raggnar combo came, and then Kharn. Now, TA is the mode I hate the most... I go into this mode backwards. I don't want to play with this composition, but I always manage to get the last chest, but in blood, tears, pain and frustration. I even have 10 chips left, but I no longer want to climb the rankings in these conditions.
    I have already asked the support team to report the problem. Their response :
    “Double Howl is certainly a powerful combination. I'm not aware of any plans to nerf it at the moment, but it could happen in a future update. If you don't like Tournament, I would definitely advise against playing it."
    What a joke ...

    I typically play in common/uncommon and often come across a skill-less veteran running the Aun'shi, Ragnar, Kharn, etc. team... The team is so overpowered atm and such a blight on the TA. If I come across the team, I just sit and spam "Wow" "Well played" "Good game" "Wow" Wow" "Well played" and if it's my turn I just let the timer run all the way down. I figured if someone is going to waste my time and a token then I might as well waste some of theirs.
    Apart from that I REALLY love TA, especially when I see people using unique teams (and even kicking my ass with unique teams)... It's a real "Well played!" moment to see what tactics people bring to the table.

    This is a complete aside but somewhat related.
    When it comes to Dark Angels, a big part of their niche is overwatch.
    What I think is silly is that one character (thaddeus) can neuter their whole angle.
    If they get a legendary (which I don't understand who it would be aside from Azrael)...
    I think there should be a passive that allows them to continue to overwatch even if they have suppressed status.
    Passive if it only works for DA units.
    Active if it is for any adjacent units.

    Couldn't agree more. Used to be able to stun Ragnar with Arjac and allow me to position well and deny the howl. But Aunshi just heals him negating the entire point of a stun. His ability shouldn't heal imp and it's always seemed like a glitch to me war howl can stack. No other character let's you do two actives on the same turn like that.

      Not only that, i realized they're the only type of players that don't measure the hexes of both them and their opponents skills when they're moving their characters at least 30% of the time, they suck ass and get saved because 3 of their characters get hilariously lucky with their blocks half the time
