I’m on an L1A here and I’m very grateful to even be in this country. I am free to go back to my country anytime I want. That’s not exactly being a slave. I’m making, saving money & having a higher quality of life than I would in India.. Do I have all rights as a citizen/permanent resident? No and me expecting that right away is just being disingenuous..
Just because you had a good experience doesn't mean everyone else does too. Maybe you're satisfied with just working all your life for some other company and going back but not everyone does.

slavery word is not really suit L1 , why to discourage or have a wrong view - like you stated you were a slave for x years , it need not be the case lot of folks are happy with L1/H1 etc. Also L1 best benefit is L2 can easily work - perception is important - video needs to be L1/H1?F1 are stepping stones to GC etc

This is not a news. More to the point this is not an exception or an accident. There are also slave cards and passports, called green card (permanent residency card) and US passport. You do not gain much in terms of your personal rights and liberties. Same shitty treatment at workplace, stores, car dealerships, hospitals, etc if you happen to speak with an accent, let alone if you have a wrong color of your skin. Even if you are born here, but work for hire you never stop to be a slave. Your company/corporation does not care about you no matter how har you work for them and can let you go at any moment (and at none of your fault). They just want to keep their profits and save money until things look better for them. The whole businesss model in the US is based and rely on slavery. Need a fresh example... Elon Musk and Twitter...
