These dudes were the first band I ever saw; Warwick university Levi's sponsored tour in '96....so good and so under-rated, all they needed was better management and more airplay 🤩 25 years later and still play the album regularly!
What people need to realise is the access to music like this was from record sales and live performance. Very few made it big then . You literally had to be amazing. Stone roses ,oasis etc . Now with the level of access , these would have been bigger.
I did say rip a year ago but I will say it again. I'm 38 n I fancied Jeff back in mid 90s. Gutted and heartbroken....always the good that leaves. Got northern uproar first album too...I am gutted to this day
RIP big chap. For what its worth you were in one of the most underrated bands of my generation. Long live Madchester. Enjoy the game the night - still hope we pump yis but ;) GBNF x
I saw these at the Jug of Ale pub in Moseley, Birmingham. I had not heard of them and my mate took me along. Could not get enough of them - raw music from a bunch of really young guys. Great talent pity they split.
I'm so sorry about what has happened. Such a awful tragedy. My heart goes out to all your family and friends Jeff....you were taken way too soon. Very upset for you all XXX
Came here after learning it was jeff who was killed. I'm so shocked and sad. I had a crush on jeff in the 90s n loved your music...just hearing this song again brings back great memories from my younger days...very very sad...r.i.p jeff...very underrated n very talented band xxxx
Loved this, one of the few singles I bought on CD.... but c'mon the middle-8 is an unlicensed cover of the middle-8 from Another Girl Another Planet by The Only Ones, amirite??? ;) Honestly, that was part of the reason I loved this record.... :)
“So I said to them: fellas - you’re the new Farm. Ditch the suits, wear the cagouls. And can you believe it, they were a hit! Ahahahaha! They love me over there.” Gianni Russo
ive only jst gt the album after buyin town in 96 after seein em on itv chart show.they just gt into a competative market at the time.it was the britpop wave wish i wud return.i rem watchin em on this morning in 97 on a school holliday thinkin wot the fuck u doin playin rich and judy bt i suppose it was their last chance
I feel sorry for the guys because they had a really shit management team and for some reason which I don't know the answer, they hardly ever got any radio play by either radio 1 or the local stations. .to this day I can't understand why that happened because they were putting out good solid music but I'm not sure about the politics of radio play so I don't know what the reason was!
Saw these supporting Weller in 1995 at Whitley Bay Ice Rink. Was a fantastic night 👍👍
love them in the 90s and also 2023!

So underestimated probs one of the best bands of the 90s ❤
Saw them at The Charlotte in Leicester in the mid-90's, great band, surprised they never made it bigger
Great venue. Seen loads of bands there and even played there twice. Shame it's gone
They made the North proud back then.
Heard it on Top of the P o s in 96 in South Africa. Loved this tune ever since.
懐かしい。高校生の時の気持ちに戻れる。

This song puts Simon Cowell's pretensions in the dustbin. First time hearing it and it's still playing in my head.
I love this. Shine album 1996!

I keep coming back, getting a glimpse of what was once there. It's never too late, waiting for the next project. Love you all.....
This is great stuff....and the best name I've heard for a band, better even than Afghan Whigs or Turin Brakes
R.I.P. :(
very like FROM MEXICO!!!

"Now I'm not around, I won't be found" sickening lyrics if you know what happened to the guitarist Jeff Fletcher.

Rip ... (from Ukraine)
no 17 in the uk chart
Very sad.
Liam brought me here
U were 20 when it came out
I’m not surprised they didn’t get anywhere. They were terrible.
unlucky band, almost be post oasis.. i like this band
What good days ,unlike this shit that is now
This is like bad boyband music shouted with guitars in the background or a UK version of US College Punk music
It’s not though, us punk(😂) grow up
Very unrated band
RIP Jeff
