    Congrats on your growth Eljay! Sad my sleep schedule is on track again because I keep missing the streams LOL
    Sound Alerts are the best thing on my channel. I gave subs access to free sounds (sub only sounds) they can use too. I asked one of my mods to record himself saying "it's still anybody's game" and that is one of my most popular sounds and inside jokes with my community.

  • @ParkerHaun
    @ParkerHaun 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Here's a question about streaming: should you "advertise" on places like TikTok? I can't count the number of times I've seen people make a tiktok where they talk about themselves and what they stream. I was wondering if this is something that would generally help, hinder or not effect growth? :)

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you can grow on another platform and push people to your Twitch to follow and watch it of course helps.
      BUT Tik Tok is micro format content, 6 second impressions of millions of 13 year olds, so converting them to Long form content viewers (Twitch streams are long form) is incredibly difficult but can happen. It is just about making high quality really solid content!

    Nice list, I just wanted mention that there is a CC plugin for OBS. At least at first glance, it does everything that the Streamed Closed Captioner does. I like using the plugin over the overlay one since I can use a different overlay.

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've seen that as well! I try not to mention OBS/SLOBS specific plugins or tools because then I get bombarded with "DOES THIS WORK IN X?" hahahaha but there are some amazing plugins out there!

    • @MacGhriogair
      @MacGhriogair 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      lol yeah I can see that happening. I've thought of programming my own extensions for Twitch. I've created a bot on my stream that allows my viewers to change my webcam panel. It works through chat right now, but I've been thinking of making an extension for it.

    First of all, I really love your videos. Keep up the good work.
    I have a question tho, it's not related to this video in particular, but I haven't found anything on that topic. Maybe I'm just blind.
    Question : should I stream in English or in my native language ?
    I can speak English pretty fluently, and I think there is a bigger audience but it will probably also be harder to get found.
    Best regards
    Toby | Revelant

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      First off, thanks! It really means a lot! I'll do my best!
      As you can guess, there are a lot more people watching English streams but also a lot more English speaking competition. It might also be harder for you to speak fluent English and be entertaining, I don’t know your situation obviously but you said you speak it quite well so awesome!
      Speaking your own language means less competition but also a ceiling for growth eventually. It might be easier to speak it and be entertaining at least.
      These are the trade-offs of speaking English vs your own, and at the end of the day you just have to do what you’re comfortable with and use the right tags/language settings so people can find you. Good luck!

    Thx for the good tips! Ima try and fix liv in the morning, live in australia and it’s 12:20 am as of writing this, don’t worry I sleep the healthy amount. For some reason when I open liv it just closes, if I manage to keep it open, it won’t even let me open the tab that let’s me see my twitch chat in VR. I’m gonna fully uninstall it off steam and my pc to see if it fixes the problem

    • @jollytronvr4486
      @jollytronvr4486 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Liv is a Vr extension on steam that makes mixed reality setups, gives you follow alerts, bit, raids, and sub alerts... and let’s you see the chat either near your head (following), on your left or right hand in exact positions, because you can toggle the x, y and a coordinates, it gives you the option to show when certain chat messsages pop up at certain times, and shows the exact time someone follows, raids, subs etc. best of all, it’s free!

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A nice PC goes a long way for you to be able to do new things even if you eventually stop streaming so it's not a terrible investment, and if its a good upgrade to the laptop It will absolutely be better.
      Laptops tend to struggle unless it is VERY high end. Good luck!

  • @thegamedoctor200
    @thegamedoctor200 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thank you so much for what you are doing.
    I have been watching your content quite a bit over the past few weeks. I have a question I haven't seen covered (if you have, my apologies)
    Do you recommend affiliate status once offered? Even though it restricts the restream abilities among other things.

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      People often ask this because of Devins video.
      Which of course, I watched Devins video so this covers a few of the points he talks about and why I slightly disagree. I also REALLY respect Devin, I think a lot alike to him except my focus is more on the social side of Twitch.
      Affiliate is great, it is a cancel any time agreement as Devin says, and it gives you access to tools like Channel Points, which are great for engaging new chatters... which is the opposite to what he says.
      Blaming a tool for not being engaging isn't quite right, if you use points properly they can be HUGE. Did you know when someone follows they get a small amount of channel points and twitch recommends them the cheapest redeem you have? Which I have set to "Say Hi! I Am New! *wave*" and it has been a MASSIVE increase in new chatter engagement.
      It also unlocks Hype trains, Hype trains which put you on the homepage of Twitch, a hype train is only 3 different people each doing 100 bits ($1) or Giftsubs. Devin talks about how you can lose 50/50 cuts with Twitch and the $100 payout, but if you remove the donation button and focus subs/bits for support then you not only reach the $100 easier but have chances to be advertised on the front page of Twitch for $3 at minimum.
      You unlock emotes, sub badges, and more that can help community build when used right.
      The only downsides are that affiliate won’t help you straight away, it is a slow build as people find and enjoy the content, then subscribe/support you if the content is good.
      AND, you aren’t allowed to multistream meaning you can’t go live on multiple platforms at the same time, however most streamers aren’t doing that anyway.
      There is the stuff about Twitch "owning" your brand but they can't own your brand, they just own the channel and have control over what you broadcast on it. Banning you, or using your content in their marketing, etc. I can't speak too much on that one, but it won't affect you I'd say.

    Hey Eljay! Thanks for all the videos - I’ve been streaming for about a week playing Stardew and I noticed that I was getting viewers coming in to watch and leaving in the next 5 minutes. Then I watched my VODS back and realised that there was a HUGE delay between my video and audio - now I always watch my vods! I’ve fixed it now but thank god I looked at my old streams!
    Quick question - at the moment I’m only playing Stardew Valley, and I steam 3 times a week. Would it hurt my stream growth if I added another game to my schedule?

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It could hurt if the game is too different, but once you do add it the questions tend to be:
      Are you seeing much Growth by doing something different each night of the week? How many of your followers from night 1 come back night 2 for something different and stick around/chat?
      Answering these questions is how you tell if what you are doing is working or not, if you are then you can continue but if most people aren't coming back you might want to consider being more consistent in the way you choose games. BUT, hey everyone is different! Good luck! Just my thoughts and what I noticed for myself when I streamed different stuff every night vs being consistent.
      And, YES! Absolutely have to watch those VoDs back and see whats wrong! Glad to hear you caught that! Keep up the good work!

    @Severlance 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    For the console streamer overlays, is it one of those extensions that only PC viewers can see, or is it an overlay straight from Twitch that all platforms can see? Anytime I've found overlays that seem as good as these, only PC viewers can see it and since my audience is mainly console players, that doesn't really help me get better quality visuals for them. Also for the not visible on Vods, I edit my streams for better quality TH-cam videos with facecam, so no overlay would probably be a better thing :D

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on the platform! Twitch doesn't support every platform but it is slowly rolling out.
      I believe right now PC, Mobile, and some tablets can see it! But some TV's, etc won't be able to see it.
      If you do set it up, at the very least a larger section of the audience will be able to see it but it isn't as good as simple having Streamlabs Alerts or Stream Elements alerts through OBS/SLOBS.
      Hope that clarifies it!

    • @StreamScheme

      This might sound harsh but I think as a teenager if they really want to make it as a Streamer they shouldn't stream whatsoever.
      Putting aside the fact that at 14-16, you most likely don't have the money to do it properly but honestly, most aren't emotionally mature enough or have the experience to be able to handle the things that come with streaming. I know at 16 I wouldn't be, and I know based off this channel and seeing teenagers trying that this is pretty spot on.
      If someone REALLY wants to make Streaming and Content Creation their goal, then as I said, DO NOT STREAM, step away and practice learning about filmmaking while you finish high school.
      Watch lighting tutorials, sound tutorials, learn the ins and outs of the trade. Make short films on your phone, and never release them. Study properly and take notes on everything.
      Research how online content works, study marketing, VSEO. The biggest part, step away from content as entertainment you enjoy and really look at it from the outside, why it works, how it works, why people do certain things, why people enjoy it.
      Practice storytelling, improv, and spend time growing as a person, learning experiences, and meeting new people.
      When I was a Teenager I got told, "Starting something is never wasted effort. It takes 10,000 hours to be considered a master, so anyone who starts young and works hard will be much further ahead than those who start at university." and this is the core concept, you don't have to stream to
      If a young person really want to do this, take the time now to grow skills that will benefit you in the future when you are older and ready to tackle it. Hope this isn't seen as discouraging but I think it is a much smarter path and safer path for young people. Good luck!

    what camera are you using in this video, and can it be used for streaming too?

    • @StreamScheme

      Yes and yes, its the a7iii but its all about good lighting, not the camera.

      @@StreamScheme also I know you stream games on twitch so I was wondering if you know a fix to this: I play fortnite and anytime I play it, it lags but especially on stream. I have a really good internet connection so idk why it doesn’t work well when all the other games work just fine

      I'll keep it in mind :) Most of this does also relate to TH-cam streamers, just not this video due to it being Twitch specific.

    Do the component and overlays extension need to be added as a browser source to be visible?

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Some components and overlays need to be added for certain things to work, but often it is simply shown in the browser once it has been turned on and activated. These things don't appear in your Vod or recordings because they are part of the Twitch player on the website. Most of them that is.

      @@StreamScheme thank you. So does that mean when love streaming, they'll just show up somewhere... I could just test it out too. Thanks.

      @StreamScheme  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@OzyBartos It just appears if you have it active, you've most likely seen components and overlays before when watching other people honestly.

      Do extensions work with hyperscape? I'm unsure about any integration with the game BUT all of the other extensions I mentioned work! And there is a huge list in the description if you visit the link!

    Do you know of any free green screen software that I can use, I’m currently using my iPhone as a camera through DroidCam and wonder if there is anything I can use with that or if there are any better apps for it also

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Greenscreen software? If you're using OBS or SLOBS then you can just use a chroma key filter to remove the green screen you place behind you.

    • @GappyDanZ
      @GappyDanZ 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StreamScheme I don’t actually have a green screen I was told there was some sort of virtual green screen sort of thing where it keys out everything behind you and just focuses on the person

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GappyDanZ Oh look up Nvidia green screens, that might be the place to start and could help BUT doing what you said is incredibly PC intensive and can really grind your CPU/GPU.
