I installed this kit on my 2023 ram yesterday. It took me two hours, with no problems. Still has a stock ride to it. Had to raise the front end, because I also added Airlift bags and with the five pound minimum of air required the truck was nose diving, this kit made the truck look great and I got more ground clearance. Awesome video!
Several videos/retailers say this DR-2 kit is for 4wd only, but it does actually work for 5 gen 2wd. Installed on my 2022 1500 2wd Lonestar. The hardest part is getting the lower strut bolt back into place. Lots of prying to get the holes to line up.
Thanks for the video helped big time. Fist side took two hours, second took one hour. I had a hard time with the first strut but ultimately just needed to use a big pry bar underneath to move it around with some muscle. The rest was smooth sailing.
@@thewheelman3603To me the steering was a little slow compared to my older Titan. I feel like it made my steering more responsive. Besides for that got an alignment and all is good.
Thank you for the video! FYI, I did this on a 2021 1500 recently and it took all day to do both sides, alone, in my driveway. A bit of a perfectionist though.
Made an attempt at this today…. Man… hitting the the spindle to release the ball joint on the upper control arm did not work and resulted in me having to stop and leave it for another time. I’ll try again when I get Thors hammer. Also, getting the strut to line back up with the hole to send the bolt through too forever…. It ended up in 3 people having to team up and get it done 😅
You need to heat it up with a heat gun. Makes it release much easier these guys definitely remove everything before their videos to make it easier lol.
question. I purchased adjustable Bilstein shocks from a friend's recommendation. I was told that with adjustable shocks I could remove the front spacer blocks and use the shock adjustment to raise the front of the truck. ( 2018 Dodge ram 1500.) My mechanic is insistent that the spacer blocks still be present to accomplish the truck "leveling", I am not concerned with "lifting" the truck but rather just level the rake. Love to hear some feedback. The whole reason a purchased the Bilstein shocks was to eliminate the spacer blocks and level the truck THX
I did the eibach adjustable strut on my 2019 ram and it’s better then the top spacer. Rides just like stock. I love them🙂 glad I went with those eibach
Eibach certainly makes some great stuff! Full replacement struts/coilovers will always give you better performance than spacers like these... Spacers will always be MUCH cheaper though! All comes down to choice and what you're looking for. -Zach
I wanna know is on motofab instruction it says the top hat may need to be rotated no one shows that tho do you swap sides of the struts or how does that work
Anyone know if a 33x12.50r20 fits . I have a 2020 1500. Going to level 2 inches and put a 33 on my stock 20x9 wheels..just cant see if thats too wide. The width is in question
Shop this MotoFab 2 Inch Front Leveling Kit! : amtrucks.at/3DEh74R
Does MotoFab make the leveling kit for 2wd?
my friend, I have a question: does (2019years) Ram 1500 regular cab have same suspension as crew cab?

This comment answered my question with my recently installed air springs, thank you!

How does it ride?

Just did this. Took me about 4 hours, kinda a pain at some point but got it done.

I am glad we were able to help!! Thank goodness it's done and you're reaping the benefits.
Had "4WHEELPARTS" in Oklahoma City, OK. install those on my 2019 5th Gen RAM 1500 4x4...took them a total of 2 hours.
Deadblow hammer works good too, doesn’t ding up the spindle
you should mention how you pre-broke all those torques.....anybody knows they do not just loosen up that easy

@ exactly… its not what they make it seem: I eventually got it done about 2 months ago tho thanks. 3.5” and some new wheels to go with it.
HOW WAS YOUR WARNING LABEL STILL FACING OUT ? AFTER YOU INSTAL THE SPACER THE ENTIRE UNIT DOES A 180 THE WAY THE SPACER IS DESIGNED
Have yall had any complaints about anything breaking after installing this and riding with it for a while ?

remove the spacer blocks and use just the Blistein, the much better way.

your experience is subjective due to the adjustment settings..
@@AmericanTrucksRam
What’s the wheel size / offset and tires on this ram? Looks fantastic!
@americantrucks ram what was the torque requirements for replacing all the nuts?
Will this hurt your ball joints
I wanna know is on motofab instruction it says the top hat may need to be rotated no one shows that tho do you swap sides of the struts or how does that work
Always thought you should turn the nut but whatever works for you
Will the ride quality stay the same
Great video. Thanks!
Does is have any noise problems?
Excellent tutorial.
What do you think of the shock extender for 2 wheel drive. It's not mentioned. Or do you have a video about it. Many thanks
They fit the 2wd if you have the 5 Gen. You can confirm that on the motofab website.
Is there a kit for a 19 classic v8 2wd.???
What are my options for a 16 ram 1500 2wd
how does the spacer lift effect the ride ?
Would you need a alignment after doing a leveling kit?
We highly recommend it! -Zach
Can I put this on 2022 ram 1500 2wd as well?
After reading some comments I believe so, I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to add a spacer to a 2WD vs 4WD.
Thanks for posting
Thanks for watching! -Zach
Will this fit a 2024 model 1500?
Does this effective the gas mileage? A buddy did something similar and noticed his MPGs went down.
It can potentially decrease MPG, but every build is different.
Generally, what affects mpg is the larger wheel and tire combo that many add at the same time.
I can’t get the upper ball joint to free. Almost like it’s stuck in a bind. I’ve tried prying and everything. 2022 ram 1500 4x4.
heat always works, torch and a sledge

Is there an equivalent of this kit (one that doesn't need to disassemble coils and struts) for '19-'22 2WD trucks?
This one works on the 2wd if you have the 5th Gen. You can confirm that on the motofab website.
What size wheels are being ran? I was looking at some 20x10 but I was wondering if those would be the right size for this build
I think I will install te 2" RC struts instead.
So these wont fit a 2wd 2021 1500?
💯🔥🔥 awesome

Thank you
Thanks for watching! -Zach
why does the spindle look so beat up in the video??
Because of what you see at 9:05, haha! Our trucks get taken apart and put back together again for lift kit videos just like these pretty often. -Zach
@@AmericanTrucksRam compromising structural integrity..
Fit 22 Ram Rebel??
This should fit your Rebel just fine! -Zach
this is exactly how not to level a truck
Why?
