Here's my demo and thoughts on the Yamaha FS-TA TransAcoustic.

There's something special about this one. It keeps begging me to pick it up.
Besides a lot of noodling, a few of the tunes in this video are my originals. You can check out more of my music here: sincerelyiris.com

I have this exact model and was asked to play instrumentals for a small function in what was described to me as a chapel. I brought along a Bose Compact PA but it ended up being a dog-leg L-shaped room that only held about 50 and the walls were quite live and reflective of the sound. So I tried a sound check without the amp, with my back wedged into a corner. With the reverb dialed to about 75% Hall plus just a little chorus, it sounded incredible and filled the room so well that I found myself wondering if I had imagined leaving the Bose in the car.
I originally purchased the FG-TA dreadnought version so I'll give a little comparison review. The dread, as expected, had more natural volume and a much beefier low end. Also, the string spacing at the bridge was wider, which I didn't notice until after I traded it in for this body style. I have large palms so it took a little while to get comfortable with this one, but I much prefer playing this smaller body so I'm quite happy with it.
Hey Douglas, I played a surprise wedding proposal last week totally acoustic actually, and right as the bride came around the corner I remembered that I could really fancy up this situation with the reverb button on the Yamaha. Haha Worked like a charm! Yea, I prefer the smaller body guitars. I play a lot of 3 hour gigs and it just feels better at the end of a few of those in a row. Thanks for watching!
I just bought an LL-TA and I'm delighted. It's the best guitar I've ever played even without the effects. You just can't stop playing.
Yes I agree. It seems like those were one level higher than my model and they were like butter 🧈. And yea, the effects are cool, but it's a steal even without them.
@@SincerelyirisI'm in RVA as well. Where do you give lessons?? Also cool guitar. Thinking of buying one! Lemme know abt the lessons 😊 Thx
@@FloAnnie9 Hey there! It's a great guitar. You'd probably get a lot of mileage out of it. I mostly teach online right now, but if it was local to me we could probably figure in person out. Maybe hit me up on Instagram if interested. I have no idea how to message on TH-cam haha
@@Sincerelyiris Thanks... will definitely catch your gig @ Brambly on the 30th!😁
Hey!! A fellow Richmond native!!! I just picked one of these up at GC on broad street. Wonderful axe!!
Howdy! That's actually where I got mine haha. Small world 🎸🎸🎸
Yes indeed they are quite stunning, I bought 1 a little while ago, and playing with another guitarist it gives a little bit extra when needed, then you can back off as the song needs 😊😊😊
Yea for sure! It's a handy little trick to have. Thanks for watching!
Great rundown, and great sounding guitar!
Thanks man! I'm spending a potentially unhealthy amount of time with this guitar 😅.
I’m sold 🙌🏽 The beautiful cut away, the built in effects without an amp?!! This guitar is such a steal, picking mine up today
Awesome 👍👍👍😎😎😎. I'm still really enjoying mine.
Had to subscribe to a fellow RVA boy. The secret is out on Yamaha precision and the prices are creeping up, especially the red label’s. Spent a lot of $ at West Broad GC and Sam Ash myself, my favorite spot.👍
Hey thanks so much! Yea it's fun to go back and forth between those two stores. Like a kid in a candy store for me 😂
Im sold going for the cut away ♥️🎸✌🏼
Oh that's great!! You'll love it. Thanks for watching.
@@Sincerelyiris last few weeks gone into Guitar Center tried a few also looked at Taylor & Martin but I'll be more than happy with the Yamaha.. thanks for the nice review & demo, great playing your really good thanks 😀 👍🏻
❤️🎶🎵👍🎶🎵🙏😎
Thanks for watching sir!
i wish taylor can have also trans acoustic pa system
I bet that other companies might follow suit in one way or another.
Awesome! Was looking for a new acoustic with max budget around $700 - this seems like a good pick. Are there any others you'd recommend in and around that price range? Don't care too much about having the ‘trans-acoustic’ dimension, although it is neat. Just want one that plays amazing & that i can keep for a long time!
Sorry for the delay on this! I hope you found something that worked for you. Hmm I'd have to say I'd probably lean toward Breedlove, Martin, or Yamaha in my humble opinion. I own all three and have had great luck with them. Having said that, any time I'm teaching a student and they pull out their dad's old Yamaha from the 80's or whatever. They sound freaking fantastic.
Im sold ,i need one now... hows the pick-up alone..
Hey there! Jump over to 7:57 in the video. That's where the pick-up portion of the video starts. I've fancied it up a little since then, but that worked great by itself honestly.
