Does she have THAT much control over the writing rooms and creating the stories, Miranda’s true story is not being told it’s 0% where this character would be today. Sad, and disrespectful.
She and Steve had that fantastic Brooklyn Bridge scene in the first movie and walked off to live happily ever after - it was great! And this new show just destroyed that.

Damn straight women in their 50s celebrate Valentine's Day. Hell, I'll be 60 in a few weeks and I am celebrating everything I can, whether it's for me or other people in my life. Life is short. I just lost my mom a month ago. I will have as much fun as I can while I am on this planet. My husband is awesome on Valentine's Day. His gifts are heartfelt and thoughtful. My late mom gave me and my sister Valentine's Day gifts until we were well into our 20s. Of course love is celebrated everyday, but holidays are times when everyone is on the same page. It's festive. It's fun. ❤

I think in the past Aiden wanted children and serious commitment and Carry simply wanted the guy who she couldn't have aka she was in love with Mr. Big and hoping to end up with him. This made her body break out in rash because subconsciously she knew she wanted only Mr Big. Now she had a life with Mr. Big and he is gone, while for Aiden Carry was the one that go away. With Mr. Big out of the picture and them living out the lives they hoped to have (Mr. big and wife and children for Aiden) then can purely explore the connection they had. So love without the attachment and expectation they used to have.

I think by what Cynthia said about Che being the person for Carrie she meant as a new friend kinda newly introduced type of way not romantically …At least that’s how I interpreted this information when I heard it 😂😂 …Since Carrie barely had a person to be romantically interested in this season it made more sense

just want to comment on the style of Carrie in AJLT. I think that they are making desperate efforts to make her extra quirky (not necessarily this episode but overall) instead of bold, chic and special (as Carrie in SATC).
She looks like an old woman with dated styles in her late sixties.
Why is Carrie still friends with Che? When Miranda and Skipper broke up she stopped seeing him.
Goood question. Especially because Che was also kind of her boss, right? And hasn’t been on the podcast for months…Just weird and forced.
I really enjoyed this, the first episode of this i can say that about. Minimum Che, good Carrie storyline, and she’s lost non of her chemistry with Aidan. Charlotte’s thing was good, except the pot brownie which felt a bit hackneyed. And Miranda in the authors flat made me laugh out loud.
I immediately smiled when I saw Aiden, that was the first time this whole reboot I smiled unconsciously. Their hug was so heart-warming. I did like when Miranda told Carrie Aiden is a good guy, he would never stand her up, that was OG Miranda talking.

Glad Miranda-Che thing is over... Che can now be killed off from the show (a rabid pit bull bit her to death at the animal shelter).
This episode had too much going on it made my head hurt! They could have skipped Che saving dogs, the italian poet, Drew Barrymore, Nya eating chocolate etc. And what was that argument about couples massage that went absolutely nowhere?! They don’t have to include all characters in every episode if they can not create an interesting story arc for them.

I absolutely hate the fact that the writers wrote Aidan and his wife, who he had a child with, didn’t work out and he, just like a dog came back to be kicked around again. He has no pride taking Big’s sloppy seconds. Will he kill his self when Carrie starts an affair with Big’s Ghost!
No wonder this episode was so AWFUL, Samantha Irby wrote it!!

The best part of the Aidan/Carrie scenes was the hug. The rest was just dumb.
Time and age equal experiences which often change people in the deepest of ways. Who I am now at 41 is vastly different than who I was 10, 15, 20 years ago. So maybe things will be right for them now?? Who knows!
What I liked about episode 7 was the difference between how Ameila, the audiobook actress, appears in public and how she actually lives. I was startled to see the closet that Amelia lives in compared to the commodious apartments (and I maintain that Carrie's apartment is like the Tardis. Carrie's studio seems to look bigger and have more rooms than ever before!) and tidiness of the SATC crew. Then I remembered that the average person in Manhattan often does live in less than 700 sq ft, no in-unit laundry, and living spaces that serve multiple purposes.
Aiden seems to have lost his magic.
Carrie's fear of marriage, it's more Carrie's fear of marrying Aidan. She didn't want to marry Aidan, period. She still had some hope to reconnect with Big. While Carrie and Aidan do have chemistry on screen, Aidan's character deserves better than Carrie lol. I used to wonder what did Carrie see in Big LOL, then I saw the movie, and I'm like OF COURSE. He's filthy rich. Now that Carrie is quite set up financially, and Aidan is also in a much better financial situation (sold his store to West Elm, or whatnot), and they're single, I suppose they'll rerun their incompatible relationship for awhile anyway. I don't see them being together long thou, and Aidan may have another heartbreak (ugh--when can he learn?!). Aidan lives far away and his kids are likely in their teen years so they still need him more. I hope he doesn't dump his family (kids--he's single but he's a coparent) for Carrie and move back to NYC.
Maybe Aiden's kids will put a wedge in the relationship with Carrie, and this time Carrie will be the heartbroken one. There's a storyline they didn't use yet.
Right, can we suddenly imagine self-centered, childless, city girl Carrie as a Virginia stepmom of 3?!
I have been semi enjoying the second season of AJLT. Every episode though has some kind of crap in it that you just know is the work of Michael Patrick King. For me, the crap from MPK this episode is the Carrie and Aidan reunion. If I had been Carrie and saw Aidan in that jacket I would have ran away. But she didn't, and they had as much chemistry sitting together in that restaurant as two rocks in a garden. After his whiny speech about why he cannot go inter "that place" that would be been an "bye-bye don't let the door hit you on the ass on your way out" from me. Michael Patrick King has worked hard to make his mark on the show, and this part of the episode is definitely him. I liked Aidan once, now I detest him. And I think less of Carrie for taking a step backward instead of moving forward.

The further into these episodes, the more I am really liking this series.
I’m really enjoying the old characters more, as they get back into a more settled version of the uniqueness and distinguishable personalities of the SATC people that they cultivated.
The newer characters are becoming more of a joy.

Charlotte will hopefully have more plot lines away from those kids, especially the over acting character of Lilly

Miranda from 1st season reminds me of Diane from Twin Peaks season 3. The only thing missing is Miranda telling "f you" to every single character in the show

Can i please add Carrie's SCREECH is the MOST annoying shit on SATC. I never noticed it back in the day watching. It's like the writer/s loved it and continued to have her SCREECH though-out the show. The earlier episodes don't. I thought Brady crying as a baby was bad but NOTHING compared to her!!!!

Aidens jacket is Horrible. As a whole, the show is ok and I will continue to watch it due to my love of the original series and characters. I still wish Samantha would come back permanently but I don’t see that ever happening unfortunately.

The only thing I liked about this episode is Miranda's beautiful, multicolored wool coat 😍
Oh: and the quick peek at Carrie's email from the NY Public Library, thanking her for her generous donation. SJP is a huge fan of books, libraries, and bookstores as opposed to Kindling, and I appreciate how she's incorporated this love and loyalty, both onscreen and off, over the years

I just have to say, women in their 50s, just as excited about Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day is an a holiday just for the young, it’s a holiday for all and it’s a little insulting to say otherwise. As you get older priorities, do you take over, however, celebrating love is always a priority.
Great words. I basically said the same thing in my post. I was going to give a "thumbs down" to this video because she said that which was so ageist, but I did like the rest of the video so I gave a "thumbs up" and wrote several nice comments. Also, younger people (and I notice this A LOT with internet interactions) seem to not have experienced much death. I'm a person who always lived life to the fullest, have a career in journalism/speaking and am an author (like Carrie, which is why I love her character), and one by one I lose people I love to death. My mom died a month ago, yet I continue to live my life and not mope because life is short and you never know when your time will come. I wish young people would know this. (I knew this when I was young because I was always an old soul at heart, gravitating more to older women than those my age). BTW, I will be 60 in twenty days. Cheers! xo

This was the only good episode overall for me out of the whole series. I thought most of the scenes were cute and I loved how Miranda’s date was a call back to how SATC was. It was about time too that Charlotte does something because her kids are probably the most ungrateful little turds ever. At least Brady wants his parents to get help, Lily and rock only care about their needs. And finally Aiden come back was so great. I was skeptical with him taking Carrie back but I realized this is a new beginning for them and they should see how it goes.

I’m puzzled by my own disinterest in this show and the characters. I’m an OG fan of the SATC when it first aired and I could relate. Now it’s just another dumb TV show. And I HATE all the clothes that I won’t even call Fashion. Too glamorous or too ugly.

Yeah, that was a very dumb statement. I guess we're not her audience. The rest of the content was good though, so I'll continue to watch, but I will put in my two cents when I disagree. I notice she didn't respond to anyone who called her on this.
I have to say that this episode DID remind me of SAC. It was ´the best´ so far of the two seasons and that is A LOT considering all episodes are painful since this mess started. I liked Aidan´s comeback overall but i did not like that all the sudden Carrie asks herself if she made the right choice when choosing Big. We know John was a fucker most of the time and did not let her be. Whenever she was happy, he showed up and ruined her life again but we invested too much on this bad boy we hated but we could not live without in every season. So, writers, don´t make Big the bad guy just because he is dead and Aidan is back in the picture.
I love Sara Ramirez but I hate their character on this show.

I didn’t care much for Aidan bitxhing about her apartment because if you’re going to spin the block then you should let the past be in the past, otherwise don’t get involved with that person. So it came off as incredibly immature on Aidan’s part.
I agree 100 percent. Almost everyone I ever knew in my life who went back to an ex, it didn't work out. They are "exes" for a reason. And, yes, Aidan's behavior was very disappointing. All those years went by, who cares, just up your game and deal with it like a man.

Exactly! It seems some people think it's "hip" to be anti-Valentine's Day because it's a "Hallmark Holiday." I'm of a different, more positive mindset. I feel it's a great day to celebrate love -- even if you're single, celebrate your love for yourself. When I was single, I'd get super dressed up for Valentine's Day and maybe go to a concert with friends or something fun. "Anti" people are so annoying. Just be happy -- and be happy for others. :)

I liked it better but they need to cut at least 3 characters… I wouldn’t mind they cut off Charlotte, she’s really being bummed down.

This was crap sorry a few glimpses ok nod to the old show, but ugh, so poorly written .. i hate watch the show .
So far, only possibly 2 episodes were ok .. nothing else.. i hope its put to rest after this season . I dont want to keep hating how bad this show is , i like to remember the old show .. maybe they can all go off a cliff at the season finale! No more show! Yeah!! Yes, I'm sarcastic ...
This show is a train wreck. They are still making horrible choices in their fifties. The writers must hate women lol. Che is a disaster of a person. Miranda is selfish (and just went gay for tv). charlotte is still the comedy relief, not good plot for her. And Carrie, same old instability and doubt about who she really loves. Waste of a series. Kim Cattrall would be wise to stay far away.

I am very upset at how the show writers/producers purposely made the only Latinx character (Che) on the show the most hateful person possible! They had to have known what the audience response would be for Che yet they continued with the terrible portrayal. It really sucks that the only Latinx character was made into to a complete shit show of a person while all the black and Asian characters are wealthy/educated/classy/smart etc. and have redeeming qualities…effing disgusting on the show runner’s parts

It would be cool if Carrie wasn't so uptight. She was so prissy when she had to kiss Alanis Morrisette when she played spin the bottle with the bisexual guy. (I forgot the character's name but he was very cute).
