Joe. You sir, are a class act. Steve thought the world of you and your genuine enthusiasm. He is smiling and he’ll visit Vasiliki many times more in the future, I’m sure. Champagne sailing... Thanks a million. Office Hands Dave. Oh YEAH!
The 16 definitely has a sweet spot where it'll stay with a hull in the air. It's sacrificing speed but is such fun. I miss sailing a Hobie. Nice tribute to Steve.
Great tribute Joe, Steve looks to be too young to be gone so soon. Life is short people, live everyday to its fullest! I hope to get on the water this and every weekend I can. Keep em flying high!
That is simply amazing control Joe. You never cease to surprise me with your skills. Testimony here to the great conditions in Vasiliki and to someone who knows how to push those beans.
@@HobieHighLife Dave and Steve were really good sailing buddies. Even though I counted him as a friend I had only sailed with him a few times. Still this came as a real shock.
I’m sorry to hear this awful news about Steve Collins. My condolences to his family and friends. I was planning to meet him along with Dave (and others) during a sailing trip to Lake Lanier later this year. Wow, definitely a shock.
Great Joy !!!!You are my point of reference for sailing with the Hobie 16. I did the same only once for 30 seconds, never more. You shoud try to fly on one hull beeing at the trapeze that is much more difficult. But I am pretty sure you will do it easily. Thank you very much for your enthusiastic and instructive videos.
just a little thing don't put your foot under the hiking strap to keep you from falling to the leeward side I have a permanent knee injury from getting caught under one slide your heel down on it and use it like a step given what happened I got off easy and I'd rather not see anyone end up less fortunate otherwise great sailing you're always a joy to watch
Thanks for the video, Joe! Giving it the gas with class while flying the hull. Hopefully, I’ll have some video for you this week. My wife got me a GoPro for the week of sailing.
We mount the go pro on a bolt through the chain plate. Just use a few threads and spray it with silicon. Don't forget to add a safety strap (8" of dynema). It is a poor mans gimbal and works pretty well. If you have trouble understanding it, I will take a picture of it. Super easy and cheap.
Can we keep going? Nah dawg. I saw drips off the haul. Good job though. I remember flipping a 14 stern up when i buried the bow turning downwind eons ago as a teen.

Goes to show that beans are available even when it's not honking.

What an Amazing flying hull ! but what can of tool do use for keep your gopro parallel to the ground ? It's really impressive !
The Feuiyu tech wg stabilising gimbal - does a great job but not waterproof.

Hull flying legend
Thanks, just need a bigger bay!
Solid gold!!
How long can you fly the hull on the 14, Dragon, FX1 and Tiger oh and the C2? Combo video??
mega, i'm into it. Great idea - coming soon
Can we keep going? Nah dawg. I saw drips off the haul. Good job though. I remember flipping a 14 stern up when i buried the bow turning downwind eons ago as a teen.
Yeah, i wasn't sure - i suppose any water contact is a fail!
What do you use to get the speed gauge on the screen?
Gopro quik to overlay the telemetry from the GoPro (available on go pros since the 5)
Joseph Bennett okej Cool. Thanks
Where are you sailing??
Wildwind, Vassiliki, Lefkas Greece
That was great
Thanks!
Awesome
Thanks!
My best is 14 seconds but 2-5 minutes is crazy
It's a great start.
Steady wind certainly helps!
RIP Steve
