I explain my system for storage and handling floss. Enjoy!
I love your ideas about storing floss. Those cards are fabulous and easy to work with. Thank you for sharing!!!
Thank you soooo much for providing the card list! Im going to my mother in-laws for Christmas and need a project to keep me busy! Merry Christmas!!
Thank you Tricia I appreciate it, love watching your videos I learn all kind of different tricks.
Thanks Tricia, have done mine, just waiting for pretty boxes, love this system.
Thank you so much! I wish I had known of your method years ago, but not too late to adapt mine to yours, which I will do. I have a somewhat similar method (baggies in boxes) but it lacks a few things, and adding your ideas is the answer. I also quite like your envelope idea for projects, this I will also use. Thank you again, I'm so glad you posted this.
You are so smart and have such great ideas! Have you ever considered a book of all your tips and organization ideas? As well as your tutorials! Thank you so much.
I love your system and will use it for my silk's and hand dyed floss. I was wondering how to store my growing collection because I do not want to bobbin those. Thanks for sharing and hope all is well!
this is super ... i searched alot and this is really the Solution for any problem ... love it and thank you so much... i was in your last video , stitching and keep you videos on one after the other ... love your videos and cant wait to see more 😍 love from istanbul
and i think dmc should buy this idea from you and make them as a stickers istead of the dmc numbers only 👏👏👏
You have such great ideas! I love your storage system, especially the little envelopes! They are genius! :) Thank you so much for this video! :D x
Thanks Emily! I hope you are doing well.
Wow! You are super-organised!! xx
Great system Tricia, thank you for sharing!
Thank you Orietta!
Thanks for sharing this, its such a good idea - especially the envelope system for projects - I am getting in such a mess with my HAED threads that I think I'm going to take the time to switch to this method - off to buy envelopes and snack bags now :)
You are so talented!
Well done! So well organized! Looks like you thought of everything! I would like the DMC Word file. Thank you!
Thank you! I have a link to the file on my blog, and a link to that is in the description.
This is sooooo great!!! Thanks for sharing with us!
I love this I HATE using the little floss storage boxes I will be trying this out
Thank you for sharing this idea. I love it.
Wonderful, so organised!
Love this storage method!! Can you come over and UNbobbinate all my stash?? I am going to give this a shot and transfer over! Thanks for sharing!!
+Judy Richardson Thanks Judy! I'd be happy to! Although, it may not be necessary, as it is just as easy to toss the bobbins into the bags with the full skeins, and as the bobbinated floss is used up, no need to bobbinate new skeins. Happy Stitching!
+Tricia - the left-handed stitcher Thanks!! I think you are right! I found some photo storage boxes on Amazon for $2.99 each AND I think I have a big black photo box from my scrapbooking days!!!! 😍
Great video! This helped me so much.
I love, love your system! I tried to bobinate some floss just for a particular project and did not like it at all. Currently my skeins of floss are in floss away bags in a wooden caddy that my husband made just for them, but I have outgrown that caddy! Please send me the file so I can print out the DMC cards. Thanks again for a wonderful video!
Nancy Drake I've sent you a PM, as I need an e-mail address to send the files to.
Thank you Tricha, just sent a request to join the group. If I don't hear anything I'll send you a pm.
Hello Tricia.. thank you for this its an excellent and brilliant way to store! I will definitely do this for myself. Do you know how to store silk threads? Thank you
Thank you Magdalena! Currently I don't have any silks. That may change in the future, and I will try to store them the same way, and if it becomes evident that doesn't work well, I will figure out a better way, and share it. Sorry though that I can't be of any help at this point. Happy Stitching!
Brilliant tidy storage idea, wish I was a neat and tidy as you are! Would you be kind enough to send me a link for the cards. Thanks Elaine
Thanks Elaine! Really I'm not that organized in all areas.. I'm just showing you the areas I've figured out so far. 8) Do you want to go the Facebook route, or email?
I love your storage system, I would be interested in the file to print up cards with. Let me know how best to communicate with you to get that file.
Stitching Memories send me a privately shared comment containing the email you'd like me to send it to. If you are unsure how, let me know.
I am not sure how to make a private comment
Stitching Memories no problem Melissa, I'm sending one your way. 8)
Where did you purchase the green box for the envelopes ? Great tutorials!
+Marie Dagenhart It was ordered from Amazon, here is a link: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0014E8JI6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00
I LOVE how you store your skeins in the photo boxes.... It's genius!!! And exactly what I've been looking for. Thank you so much for sharing.
I prefer to use bobbins for my opened skeins but I would like to know more about the card system.
So is the file on the Facebook group, or is it easier to send you my email?
I'm so happy that it will be something you can use. The files are posted on the FB group, but if you need them e-mailed, I can do that.
Tricia - the left-handed stitcher
I found them..... thank you so much! I can't tell you how excited I am to start this :) Now just hoping I can find a whole heap of matching photo boxes (another organisational trait of mine.... they must match!)
How many boxes did you say you used?
I have all 470 colors (including the new 2013 colors) in 13 boxes (with the 13th box about 2/3 full). But I have several that are double sided (more than 7 skeins) and few that required 2nd baggies (more than 14 skeins). So it does depend on how much floss you have. By my calculations, 40 single sided bags will fit snug but comfy in each box. If you have all the colors, but no more than 7 of any one color, the collection would take up 11.75 boxes.
I also have a 14th box that houses the odd variants of DMC that I happen to have (not all colors) like Linen, Variegated, Variations, Satin, Glow in the Dark, etc,
Tricia - the left-handed stitcher
I don't have anywhere near that many, probably around 200. But I'm more dedicated to my stitching now than I have ever been, so I need to plan ahead.
The plan is to purchase new skeins every time I order from 123stitch and slowly get the collection going that way. At the moment all my skeins are in one big snap-lock bag and it takes forever to find the one I want.
I think I'll try and find 12 matching photo boxes and then focus on getting them filled.
Thanks again for this video - I'm looking forward to seeing what else you have in store for us. xx
I'm incredibly happy to help other stitchers enjoy this wonderful hobby more!
I love your system, thank you for sharing your ideas. I tried to find you on FB but I am not that savvy, can you please send me the file to print up the cards?
Angie Auger Hi Angie! I sent you a PM.

Thank you!! If you are a member of the Cross Stitch, Its Fun!!! FB group, it is in the files. If not, then you can private message me your e-mail address and I will send them to you.
I asked to be part of the group so waiting to hear if i was accepted
Lori Carroll See you in the group! It is a wonderful FB group.
LOVE YOUR SYSTEM 😃I hope it is to late to request a copy of your system. I do not have a Facebook account. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Link in description takes you to my blog, which has to google drive links for everything.
How did you get the actual color to match the skin to put on the car?
Hi Deb! I went to the DMC website and pulled up the document they provide with color numbers, color names and a sample of the color. I just used my Snipping Tool to grab that sample color, copy and paste to my word document.
Trisha, love your floss system! I have been using those snack baggies for awhile but love how you use them and the envelopes!! I have messaged you on facebook about the print outs. Or can you post an email?
Sharonkay Schutjer I found your FB message and have replied.
Hi Tricia. Can you PM the link to the flosstube community on Facebook. Cheers
+Shazie C Will do.

Hi Robyn, if you are a member of the Cross-Stitch, Its Fun!!! facebook group, they are loaded in the files section. If not, send me a private message with your e-mail address and I will be happy to send them to you.
I don't facebook and I think that your floss storage system is incredible. Could you email it to me?
GENIUS. Thank you!
I guess I am kind of ignorant. I don't know much about how youtube works. How do I private message you on youtube?
Sometimes I still feel a bit lost when it comes to navigating youtube and google+. I sent you a message by going to your Channel page, About tab, click on Send Message button. You can reply to my message. How I get to my messages, I go to my Channel page, click on the Subscribers link at the top, then click on Messages in the menu on the left side.
Alternately, you can begin a new comment , before hitting the blue Post button, click on the Public next to it, click on the X in the green oval to remove the Public addressee, then type in the TH-cam name of the person(s) you want to see your comment, and click on their entry in the dropdown that shows up. Then when you finish your message, hit Post. When your comment shows up in the comment feed, it will have "Shared Privately" in the first line.
