    That's a awesome idea so much better than the small cards that you get with the cards that come with the cross stitch thread

    Thank you!!!!! I have a suggestion for you! Instead of using binder rings I bought on Amazon coated stainless steel wire keychains. Lighter, cheaper than rings, more for your money and you can add to each one if you need a larger ring for bigger projects!

    What a clever idea! And the patterns are so pretty too. I use the drop cards for individual projects but started out over 30 years ago with the little plastic floss bags and the tote boxes for actually storing all the thread. I diamond paint also & have my cross stitch frame “station” set up right next to my diamond painting easle so it’s at the ready for what creating mood I happen to be in😎 Loved your first FlossTube video♥️

    Welcome to flosstube! I also am juggling stitching time vs diamond painting time! It's hard lol. As for kitting up I've been using 3x5 plastic baggies to put each skein in plus any cut pieces that are left over. Then use a project bag or a small container to hold them. Haven't figured out how I want to organize my stash or anything like that yet. If diamond painting taught me anything it's to not just try everything under the sun as it gets expensive! 😜 so waiting till the perfect idea or inspiration strikes 😊

      Fold the threads in half, insert the looped end into the hole, find the center of the loop, stick thumb and index finger into the center, grab the entire bunch of thread, pull it through the loop. Sorry, I thought everyone knew how to make a slip knot 🫣

    Hi from Quebec. I also have done diamond painting- over 150 up to now and still have 8 kitted up. On that tho' I also have rediscovered cross stitch after over 20 yrs so am now into that full time- Never thought of laminating the tags, I do have one, laminator - but I ordered 30 on etsy and find I do not like the floss on them. Never can seem to pull a strand out. Its gets tangled so am back to bobbins. Really liked your video - take care and have a great week.

    • @DPbyDoni
      @DPbyDoni  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Once I can get my projects unpacked from my move, I will try to show you how I easily pull strands from them. I honestly can't remember if I showed how in this video or not. ☺️

    I was thinking of using the same technique but wondered if the sharp edge of the laminated sheet would damage the floss overtime. Thanks for sharing

    • @DPbyDoni
      @DPbyDoni  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      mine are still on these thread drops. As long as they aren't being fiddled with all the time, they are perfectly safe from damage.

  • @chriseeeime9602

    I am in the process of floss cards and then the file boxes BUT have realised that the length of my threads are 16". I start using the loop method so then that would only give me 8" of length to stitch.

    • @DPbyDoni
      @DPbyDoni  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I love the loop method! My project right now calls for 3 strands so I can't use the loop method. My strands are extremely long too so I had to start cutting them in half to keep from having a mess since I use the parking method as well.

    Looks good. How many colors are in each HAED? I don’t think I’ve ever saw one less than 200 colors. The difference between hot and cold lamination is that the cold is more of a press and seal. They do not seal as well around the edges as the hot ones do. Do you have to purchase the floss separately?

    • @DPbyDoni
      @DPbyDoni  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The HAED that I converted for diamond painting has 90 colors as well as one of these two for cross stitch. I had to purchase all the threads Separately.

  • @theresaframe3007

      Oh, I mentioned in the video that I got it at Michael's around Christmas time a year ago when it was on sale. I would just check their website and search for unicorn or recollection collection. 😊
