I just bought THREE of these for my nephews and niece. Perfect for kids 12 and under. $270 for all three, which is the same price as one Arrma Granite Mega. Granted they're not as capable, upgradable, or durable, but if you don't ever plan on upgrading them and don't bash them hard they're perfect as is for kids.

I love you guys and I've been watching you for years But I have to do a little rant now. I get it if you don't like Traxxas, to each his own.I have Ben running Traxxas Since the early 2000's , I wouldn't call myself a Traxxas fan boy, I call them out on stupid things just like I do with Horizon. To call Traxxas a dying brand to me is just factually incorrect. If you take a honest look at the innovations Traxxas has made over the years and continue to make, you can see that like them or not our hobby wouldn't be were It is without them. The Emaxx and Tmaxx in the early 2000's , the Traxxas slash that created a new class of racing and brought way more people into the hobby, legendary part support even on legacy vehicles ect. One more great thing about Traxxas is they are one of the only companies standing in the way of the Horizion monster from dominating the hobby and doing whatever they want, i.e try buying a vattera since horizon bought them and shut them down. Try buying a axial umg 6x6 that they discontinued after less than 2 years because of issues with the axel, leaving people who bought it out to dry. Horizon has to have a competitor or this hobby will go wherever there investors decide instead of us in the hobby.

Honestly we feel like that is our responsibility too. We would rather promote a company that innovates rather than getting bogged down in the IP game. Competition is good though! We wish Traxxas would shift gears and get competitive in a good way. They are starting to lose ground they gained because they are too distracted protecting their aging RCs.
I got this as well, and the first thing to break were the soldered wires on the motor. I don’t like how they hang so loose. I’ve had to re solder multiple times, and the servo has also been replaced but it was covered under warranty. Charger leads come loose too. Overall can’t beat the price.

Until i owned a 10th scale, I didn't understand the fun difference. For me, the sweet spot is 10th scale. I'd love to own an 8th scale someday, i just begrudge the greater cost of all the spare parts, tires, etc... A set of tires for my Felony costs almost as much as this whole truck, and sometimes, cost and fun have an inverse relationship. By that i mean, i only take my Felony out 4 times a month, maximum, but my Granite BLX, which was half the price, i take out 4 times a week 😂 And I've had the same set of Granite tires all month. A cheap basher is a great thing, especially with the parts availability of a good brand.
Got 2 of these last year Black Friday sale and the first run on one of them the chassis where the motor mounts to broke and it’s actually part of the chassis so only way to fix would be to buy a new chassis and they don’t sell those so the whole truck is trash !! So remember you get what you pay for very brittle cheap plastic!!!

I have the 18650 batteries for mine and I have eight of them and I can you only use six and I get over 30 minutes run time with them. And I actually got them for fairly cheap I think the battery all the batteries all together the other four I needed I or another six I need I got was around 30 bucks it was cheap.

Ordered 2 of these on Black Friday for the same price. One is for my Son for Christmas and the other is for myself. They arrived on Tuesday. I wrapped up my Son's and took mine out for a bash. I love it! Great truck that looks to be pretty durable. I added a T-Bone racing front bumper on mine and have another bumper ready for my Son's. Recommended!
Go ahead and purchase you some dog bones amd some diff cups. You are going to need them. I bought one for my son. It is a big piece of junk. The design is flawed. U ha e no slipper clutch,plastic diff cups,& steel axels. Mine is currently sitting on the shelf broke. I bought a slash for him instead because I was tired of fixing it. U cant jump it and you can't upgrade the electronics even to just a brushed 12t titan motor. Snaps the diff ups or strips the spur gear because there is no slipper. Good luck my friend lol
@@jeffbryner5355 Sorry to hear you've had issues. So far I've bashed mine pretty hard with no troubles. A buddy of mine has had one for over a year now and he said it's been great. I planned on upgrading mine (and probably my Son's) once the original parts give out. Which is what I do generally. So no biggie there. But, so far so good. Later!
@@d.r.4453 he must not bash very hard. I have a little plastic skate board ramp that we were Launching into the grass amd it snapped the right diff cup. Then I put a Traxxas titan motor in it and it snapped the other side from going reverse then hitting forward to make it wheelie. Then took for ever to find one in-stock because they were all back ordered for the longest time. (I wonder why lol) currently it's broke on the shelf amd has been for almost a year. The spur stripped from jumping amd not having a slipper clutch to absorb the impact. I guess if you just drive it around on relatively flat services with the stock electronics I guess u will be good but once you start running high c rating lipos and beefy electronics and/or jump it your going to have issues there known issues across the board not just myself. I do truly hope you all have better luck then me. I'd spend a little more and get a rustler if I could do it again

Could you guys do a review of the Maverick Quantum + Flux XT please. There is not enough reviews out on this one. Seems like a great truck at a great price just less than the Arrma 3s series. Cheers. 👍
I've found the faster trucks don't really need drive on the front wheels with the weight transfer to the rear during acceleration. 2wd makes for a lighter and more simple vehicle.
Got one of these 2 years ago, it was ok. Plenty of fun at first, the diff output cups stripped after a little while. Had to upgrade those to some metal ones that had grub screws. The motor screws kept getting loose and had to retighten them often. The body is thinner than slightly more expensive RCs and it cracked easily. The servo gears stripped soon after(expected on most RTR trucks). The final nail in the coffin was the chassis was deforming and cracking around the motor mount screw holes. The motor would just flop around and there was no way to mount it to get any kind of gear mesh. This is after about 3 months of a 4 year old driving it. Arrma(Horizon Hobbies) honored the 2 year warranty. First they where going have me send it to them on their dime and they were going to replace the servo, drive cups and chassis. Adding it all up with shipping both ways was more than I paid for it. After talking and reasoned with the customer service rep they ended up crediting me my purchase price and I used towards a TE MT10 Rival. The Rival is in a completely different class but has been way more durable, so far only one suspension arm and a bent hinge pin.
This is mainly a great starter truck if you don’t already have something nicer. Still, we do like ours! Comes in really handy to let some kiddos drive or newcomers in the hobby if we don’t wanna pass the controls to something more expensive 👍😁😎⚓️
My ZD 1/10 truck literally arrived today on your great recommendation, thank you so much, so far I love it! ☺. And now I have what looks like a great cheap solid 2wd basher on my radar! I had this truck on my amazon watch list for a while but you can't beat this deal from Horizon hobby you can also run it with a 2S lipo battery. Good looking out RC Saylors. Got me one...THANKS....
We don’t recommend doing what we did, but they seem to be. Ours is still going strong after a quick run at the house! Just air dried after this run and running very strong! 👍😀😎⚓️
The upgraded battery says its 7.4 volt not 7.2 . It's that ok? Also some say like 30c and some say 50c. What does that mean ? I've tried asking horizon hobby but you can't talk to a real person.

Will the battery last more than 7 minutes? My Tamiya "The Frog" sure didn't back in '85 when i was 12 years old. Plus the kid up the street was in his bay window with his Futaba controller making my "The Frog" glitch and run straight under a car driving up the street. Haven't bought a RC car since.

This is a pos! I own one and it's not worth the money. Spend a little more and get a Traxxas rustler. No foam in the tires no slipper clutch steel axels plastic diff cups that the steel axels fit into. Stupidest thing I have ever seen in rc. If u buy one of these I would stock up on diff cups axels and spur gears you will need them. I put a Traxxas brushed motor in there and it would just snap the diff cups. You jump it it's going to snap the diff cups. This thing is a waist of money even for a kid
Yeah a year later it's 140 dollars which for a brushed 2wd truck is unabashedly expensive a brushless 2 wd traxxas is cheaper than this. *edit* It's 149.99 now
I got my son this truck for Christmas and he played it for a day and tried to play it tonight and now the LED light is blinking and the truck won’t move..if anyone has a way to fix this please help me
Most accurate statement in this video is that anything you buy at Walmart is a waste of money Not to mention that spending money at Walmart is weakening our national economy faster than just about any other factor.
Don't listen to them shilling this. I bought it for my son and if you run it on 2s lipo (which it allows) the motor gets hot and melts the plastic. In order to fix it you need an entire new chassis at the tune of $23. Don't do it, save your money and get something better!
We were running 2S and obviously didn’t have any issues. Did you see anything melt on ours? Read the comments too. LOTS of people sharing positive experiences with theirs.

OK according to FEDEX now it is being shipped from Illinois , not California, and will be dilivered the day after tomorrow, Sunday December 5

Ordered 2 of these on Black Friday for the same price. One is for my Son for Christmas and the other is for myself. They arrived on Tuesday. I wrapped up my Son's and took mine out for a bash. I love it! Great truck that looks to be pretty durable. I added a T-Bone racing front bumper on mine and have another bumper ready for my Son's. Recommended!

Go ahead and purchase you some dog bones amd some diff cups. You are going to need them. I bought one for my son. It is a big piece of junk. The design is flawed. U ha e no slipper clutch,plastic diff cups,& steel axels. Mine is currently sitting on the shelf broke. I bought a slash for him instead because I was tired of fixing it. U cant jump it and you can't upgrade the electronics even to just a brushed 12t titan motor. Snaps the diff ups or strips the spur gear because there is no slipper. Good luck my friend lol
@@jeffbryner5355 Sorry to hear you've had issues. So far I've bashed mine pretty hard with no troubles. A buddy of mine has had one for over a year now and he said it's been great. I planned on upgrading mine (and probably my Son's) once the original parts give out. Which is what I do generally. So no biggie there. But, so far so good. Later!
@@d.r.4453 he must not bash very hard. I have a little plastic skate board ramp that we were Launching into the grass amd it snapped the right diff cup. Then I put a Traxxas titan motor in it and it snapped the other side from going reverse then hitting forward to make it wheelie. Then took for ever to find one in-stock because they were all back ordered for the longest time. (I wonder why lol) currently it's broke on the shelf amd has been for almost a year. The spur stripped from jumping amd not having a slipper clutch to absorb the impact. I guess if you just drive it around on relatively flat services with the stock electronics I guess u will be good but once you start running high c rating lipos and beefy electronics and/or jump it your going to have issues there known issues across the board not just myself. I do truly hope you all have better luck then me. I'd spend a little more and get a rustler if I could do it again

I've found the faster trucks don't really need drive on the front wheels with the weight transfer to the rear during acceleration. 2wd makes for a lighter and more simple vehicle.

Got one of these 2 years ago, it was ok. Plenty of fun at first, the diff output cups stripped after a little while. Had to upgrade those to some metal ones that had grub screws. The motor screws kept getting loose and had to retighten them often. The body is thinner than slightly more expensive RCs and it cracked easily. The servo gears stripped soon after(expected on most RTR trucks). The final nail in the coffin was the chassis was deforming and cracking around the motor mount screw holes. The motor would just flop around and there was no way to mount it to get any kind of gear mesh. This is after about 3 months of a 4 year old driving it. Arrma(Horizon Hobbies) honored the 2 year warranty. First they where going have me send it to them on their dime and they were going to replace the servo, drive cups and chassis. Adding it all up with shipping both ways was more than I paid for it. After talking and reasoned with the customer service rep they ended up crediting me my purchase price and I used towards a TE MT10 Rival. The Rival is in a completely different class but has been way more durable, so far only one suspension arm and a bent hinge pin.
I guess you get what what you pay for.
I almost bought one of these Last year when it went on sale. Put my money into my 4x4 ruckus instead
This is mainly a great starter truck if you don’t already have something nicer. Still, we do like ours! Comes in really handy to let some kiddos drive or newcomers in the hobby if we don’t wanna pass the controls to something more expensive 👍😁😎⚓️

We don’t recommend doing what we did, but they seem to be. Ours is still going strong after a quick run at the house! Just air dried after this run and running very strong! 👍😀😎⚓️

Bought one this time last year for my neighbors boy for Christmas, Horizon had them for $59.00, sold like hot cakes.
The upgraded battery says its 7.4 volt not 7.2 . It's that ok? Also some say like 30c and some say 50c. What does that mean ? I've tried asking horizon hobby but you can't talk to a real person.

Will the battery last more than 7 minutes? My Tamiya "The Frog" sure didn't back in '85 when i was 12 years old. Plus the kid up the street was in his bay window with his Futaba controller making my "The Frog" glitch and run straight under a car driving up the street. Haven't bought a RC car since.

This is a pos! I own one and it's not worth the money. Spend a little more and get a Traxxas rustler. No foam in the tires no slipper clutch steel axels plastic diff cups that the steel axels fit into. Stupidest thing I have ever seen in rc. If u buy one of these I would stock up on diff cups axels and spur gears you will need them. I put a Traxxas brushed motor in there and it would just snap the diff cups. You jump it it's going to snap the diff cups. This thing is a waist of money even for a kid

Yeah a year later it's 140 dollars which for a brushed 2wd truck is unabashedly expensive a brushless 2 wd traxxas is cheaper than this. *edit* It's 149.99 now

How do you bind this truck I have no luck having being able to bind the truck to the please help.
Don't listen to them shilling this. I bought it for my son and if you run it on 2s lipo (which it allows) the motor gets hot and melts the plastic. In order to fix it you need an entire new chassis at the tune of $23. Don't do it, save your money and get something better!
We were running 2S and obviously didn’t have any issues. Did you see anything melt on ours? Read the comments too. LOTS of people sharing positive experiences with theirs.

My Traxxas trucks r still holding up have a arrma granite and voltage they r garbage always breaking haven't broke anything on my Traxxas still goes 65nph.. watch out crash ur cheap plains into the ground 🗣️😂😾😝👋
