Love ham. I'll get a ham when on sale, bake it and split it up into sandwich size portion, freeze them and enjoy ham sandwiches etc. whenever I want. About 50-75 cents a sandwich.
Long time no see. I've been battling cancer for nearly a year and couldn't remember none 9f the names if the channels I like. I'm still battling. Plz pray for me yall
This is one of those few TH-cam channels that just makes your heart smile so wide it shows up on your face. Chris? Has she got a single sister? ((world needs more of like these two right here))
I have watched this video twice already... just drooling over that ham. Bought that same ham last night and plan to bake/warm it in a few hours...I usually add a small amount of water to the bottom of the pan and wrap the foil loose, but after watching you add no water and wrap the foil tightly with a few vent holes and you can just see how moist it turned out. My husband is not the ham loving kinda man that Chris is though...he hates it. I cook it and send half the ham to my Son (his family is not a fan of ham either) but it's all good as we look at each other and know we are in hog heaven. Thanks Tammy!!
I love ham for the holidays mama always had it for Easter. We loved helping her decorate it cherries and pineapple she put cloves on it also so good😍😊👍⭐💖
My mother (who isn't the best cook) has always done her ham like this. One of her specialties. Just that simple and it is DELICIOUS! Happy Passover, Good Friday and Easter everyone!
I love ham! I love it the next day on a sandwich with spicy mustard! Oh my goodness my mouth is watering 🤤! I’m having ham for our Easter dinner. Yummy 😋
Up here in PA my mom's family baste the ham with ginger ale to pull some of the salt out of it. The last 30 min we put the pineapple, cherries and whole cloves on the ham. Than we make a brown sugar glaze from the pineapple juice and drizzle that on the top. We always have picked red beat eggs, and candied sweet potatoes, and we have that bunny 🐰 cake you make too. I love Easter, it's my favorite holiday.
I know I’ve left you this message before but I So enjoy your channel. I just finished watching you make the Christmas honey bun cake. I never have had a bad day or I’m just tired and tune in to your channel and I have even made things I’ve watched you make. You should get a gold star for having one of the nicest channels on TH-cam thank you and God bless you
I love ham like you’re cooking. My favorite is the Cumberland Gap semi boneless precooked whole ham. I buy the whole one then slice up the leftovers, vacuum seal it and have it for sandwiches or just a quick delicious meal… even breakfast. Fix some mashed potatoes and stove top stuffing and I’m good to go. Love everything you cook. You’re the best. ♥️I cover mine tight too… Holds the steamy juices in. Chris is correct… pork is the best meat… that and a big beef Chuck roast cooked on top of the stove for 3-4 hours with lots of carrots, potatoes and onions in it.. 🙏🏻🤍🙏🏻
Ooo, girl! That looks so good and this video is exactly what I was looking for. I have no idea why I have always been intimidated by cooking a ham - but never again. Thanks so much Tammy and Chris!
I am making homemade ham pot pie with cut squared homemade noodles in all the ham juice with small potatoe chucks tomorrow. I will only use a sugardale ham because I like the taste way better. I tried different hams and nothing comes close to it. Your ham looks perfect❤
Tammy, I love your cooking style, and because these techniques come from your mother. You have the best suggestions and the pride you have in your work is outstanding. I love this southern style. Florence, AL cook
I *love* ham at Easter! This is good intel! My mom always "did" Easter, so I never really learned how to heat a ham. I appreciate the instruction, Tammy! God Bless, you both.
Tammy I make my ham exactly like you do And I swear that it is the best I have ever had. After a meal I can't wait for a ham sandwich !!! Chris, I know you agree with me on that !!!
I so agree with warming it the way it is. I enjoy it much more without glaze of any sort. We just don't need to be adding sugar or honey etc...to our food.
I agree 100%. I never season my ham with anything and don’t leave it in the oven too long. Make a good sauce to go with it and some sweet potatoes, nothing better!!
Oh Tammy, that looks so moist and delicious, I just wanted to reach through the screen & grab a slice! I pulled a spiral ham out of the freezer to use it up. Do you think this method would work for it, or would you do anything different? I just don't want to dry it out. Thank you so much!
🤩Looks delicious...💁🏻♀️I prefer ham during the Easter holiday with asparagus, scalloped potatoes, glazed carrots, house salad, and fruit salad as the dessert 😁👍🏻 ☝🏻During the fall holidays and because she didn't care for turkey or even prime rib roast, mother used to get a Honey Baked Ham and they were about $40 back in the latter 20th century(sounds kinda odd thinking about turn of the century memories)...now days, my husband doesn't care for ham unless it's in a chef salad or an omelet or even with cheese and spicy mustard on a Ritz🤷🏻♀️😉
I'm 64 and my Mama and her Mama scored the fat. Then put brown sugar, pineapple and cloves on that scored fat. Wrapped it tight and boy you could smell it coming in the door. Leftovers make the best sandwiches too.
Same here in Canada. Our hams have less fat on top so my Grandma taught my Mom us girls to put whole cloves some orange juice or ginger ale wrap tightly like Tammy suggests. Then we make a brown sugar based sauce to pour over ham slices, brown sugar vinegar can't remember what else goes in it butter likely lol. Also have a honey mustard sauce recipe from her for cooked ham mmm!!
Tammy and Chris ham looks yummy. Plan to make one for Easter just the way you showed us. We love watching you both. Made many of your recipes. Our son got me your volume four cookbook for my birthday Christmas Day really enjoying recipes. Thank you both. Kris and Ron.
Great video, remember on that movie,A Christmas Story, when the dogs came thru the back door and ate the Christmas turkey they had?You two need to watch that movie,A Christmas Story, where that kid stuck his tongue to the pole in winter.😅😅😅
I only buy the butt, so much more meat and plenty of leftovers to make ham salad, scalloped ham and potatoes. What great easy instructions you give for the newer cooks and good tips for us older ones.
My family uses a slow cooker,we have a very large one. I add one cups of brown sugar, half a cup of maple syrup, one can of crushed pineapple (The juice has enzymes that are meat tenderizers) and 1 teaspoon of ground clove. Best ham you'll ever have in your life and the most flavorful. Surprisingly it's not overly sweet. I get a general idea with my duration of cooking but I use them eat thermometer. I take it out when it's 150 Even if the directions say it should cook longer
Hi Tammy I Love you and Chris, You are so down home and I love watching your shows everything you make looks so good . I have a Question for you do you know an old recipe for Creamed raisin if you do will you please share it thank you Tammy and I love you
Try cooking/warming your pre-cooked ham in the crock pot on low. A bit of water at the bottom. Add what you normally do (pineapple juice, brown sugar, etc. It is so good and juicy. I'm telling you, you won't go back. Spiral ham will dry out though. Thank you for the video.
We love ham I not my husband are afraid to cook it But one thing I heard that you can get preseasoned We cannot find one , any ideas we are in Maryland more to the central part Thank you and I love your clips❤❤❤❤❤
✍ Hello Tammy and Chris...Tammy we always got our Christmas tree from my grandparents farm in southern Ohio which is a 4 hour drive from where we live. Well 60 years ago for my husband and my first Christmas, my mom and dad drove to my grandparents farm and they sent home with my mom and dad a fresh ham for us. Not knowing a lot about different hams I expected it to taste like the ham I was used too, but it didn't have that taste. Like you said it tasted like a pork roast not the taste we wanted. I learned a good lesson. Thanks for all the tips for the upcoming Easter holiday. God Bless LuvYa! Bye from your digital pen pal from Ohio

I have never seen nham cooked that way or carved that way, it looks better than any ham I ever saw too. My mom sometimes got a ham from somewhere in the south that was dry and had to be soaked or boiled? before baking. Anybody out there know what kind of ham that was? I love ham, but most hams are salty. Sometimes it’s hard to find a ham thats not spiral, don’t like those things. Is yours a Smithfield ham. It looks tender and juicy. Thanks for the information.❤

Precooked
I have not seen a fresh ham since I left the Northeast, they are much better than any other pork roast. I wonder if they even have that cut anymore.

Nothing smells better than a ham cooking. Remember to save the grease, good bean flavoring.

@@sharonm6334 I think it was soaked or parboiled because it was extra salty. It was a favorite of my dad's, definitely not her's.

I'm going to look closer cuz that's important information. One thing for sure, I don't ever like spiral cut. It dries out sooo fast
