In Canada we celebrate Thanksgiving in October. We always have our sides and turkey prepared in advance, then we bake our ham on the day of. Never had one of these sliced hams but it looks delicious! Wishing all our American cousins peace and plenty...Happy Thanksgiving!
For anyone asking if the lid should go on the slowcooker: yes, most likely. If the crockpot is used without a lid for the 2-hour duration heat gets lost constantly so it's best to close it off. If your ham is too big to close the lid you could use aluminum foil as a substitute for the lid itself.

I made a peach cobbler for thanksgiving. I had quite a bit of juice left over from the filling…so I used it for my ham glaze! It was absolutely amazing.

Thanks AB. I made three hams with this recipe Sunday Morning. Two shanks I had sliced all the way and one spiral. My Mom's Korean church loved it. It wasn't salty, but balanced with slight sweetness and holiday spice. What's gold about this recipe is simplicity and ease to execute where most recipes cut corners.

Hi AB, wishing you and your family and everyone else a blessed holiday. I know you did yours in oven but I do mines on the smoker with a similar recipe. But I smoke with peach tree wood on the smoker in place of the crock pot and oven. The other twist I do is when I make my glaze I use crown royal peach and let me tell you that they love it. Looked like he had to take off a bit on the top. I ran into the same issue. I'm making another ham today. When I picked this one out, I picked a "short" one lol! Lid went on perfectly. The last ham I had to cut off of the bone to cook and I used a modification of this recipe. The family loved it. But I really wanted to try this recipe. So I'm making another ham lol!
It looks so amazing! Thanksgiving is a time of giving thanks so I will still give thanks this thanksgiving even though I fell on hard times. I put my trust in Christ! My greatest happiness comes from following him our Lord and Savior. As a single mother things are difficult on me. My husband passed years ago so I’m alone. I’m overwhelmed because both of my children are autistic. I’m struggling to provide. I can’t afford you a first lady, groceries let alone Thanksgiving dinner. I lost my job as a social worker at Forsyth hospital because I declined the vaccine. I declined because of my pre existing health condition lupus and heart disease. I was denied my medical/religious exemption. I wish I could go back to the hospital but the mandate is still in place for hospitals that participate in Medicare and Medicaid. I’m waitressing and I’m so thankful to be working again, but I’m not making nearly enough to make ends meet. I’m so discouraged I feel so alone in this world. Every month is a battle, to not end up on the streets with my children. Thankfully God gives me strength to keep going. Please pray for me and my boys, that’s all we want or need. Please pray for me and my children this Thanksgiving thank you.

Hey Anna, do you leave the crockpot uncovered? After AB placed the ham into the crockpot, it looked a bit too tall to put the lid on.

I've been using your recipes for awhile now, but when I made this for my family for Christmas they were floored at how good it was.
Does you crockpot have a lid big enough to fit on top? If not could you use tinfoil as a lid?

It looks so amazing! Thanksgiving is a time of giving thanks so I will still give thanks this thanksgiving even though I fell on hard times. I put my trust in Christ! My greatest happiness comes from following him our Lord and Savior. As a single mother things are difficult on me. My husband passed years ago so I’m alone. I’m overwhelmed because both of my children are autistic. I’m struggling to provide. I can’t afford you a first lady, groceries let alone Thanksgiving dinner. I lost my job as a social worker at Forsyth hospital because I declined the vaccine. I declined because of my pre existing health condition lupus and heart disease. I was denied my medical/religious exemption. I wish I could go back to the hospital but the mandate is still in place for hospitals that participate in Medicare and Medicaid. I’m waitressing and I’m so thankful to be working again, but I’m not making nearly enough to make ends meet. I’m so discouraged I feel so alone in this world. Every month is a battle, to not end up on the streets with my children. Thankfully God gives me strength to keep going. Please pray for me and my boys, that’s all we want or need. Please pray for me and my children this Thanksgiving thank you.
Don't give up! It's a good thing you did what you did. When it comes to Jesus working in your life, everything has to fall apart. Because it's actually falling together. Maybe if you got that shot, you would end up with a blood clot that could've taken your life. We never know God's plan. But we do know he has one. I know it's hard. Lupus is a terrible disease. Having autistic children on top of that is unimaginable. He WILL get you through it. Do not lose faith. Reach out for help. Do not be ashamed to ask for help. The churches are a GREAT place to start. If they can't help you directly, they can get you on the right path. Sending virtual hugs and prayers your way. ❤️
