Those eyes and that huge smile....some things NEVER change even after 23 years. Handsome Mike. So many women (and men) have wanted and very very few have caught u.
This is the absolute best Patton interview I've ever seen. The interviewer asked great questions, and Patton gave substantive, insightful, non-smartass answers. Thanks for posting!
Very rare that Mike would do an interview like this, he must really respect this guy. He is such an amazing person - I wish more people in showbusiness were like that.
Quality TV in Chile! Great TV program and great interview. I couldn't' imagine a best conversation about Mike Patton's work and art in general. Now I'm excited to see more from this Séptimo Vicio show!
I’d say that was a pretty good answer to the question of artistic heroes he’d like to work with. Having an answer for that is an overwhelming thing to organize in the head and verbalize, especially on the spot.
So far it is the BEST interview with Mike I've ever seen! Thank you so much for posting it and giving us the chance to share and witness Patton's thoughts, opinions and musical intelligence spoken in words at least (this is so rare). I feel so thankful for this one! Thanks from Brazil
Oh man, best Patton interview I've ever seen, I just wish the last part was translated so I could understand what those old people were saying, it looked totally entertaining!
Earlier on, when Patton is talking about the responsibility of musicians to make original music that is fresh. I mean, it's easy for him to say! He's at the point where he could do anything and people would pay to hear it. Writing original music sucks, nobody wants to hear it until you're already famous. "Business really shouldn't effect the art that you're creating", is a nice sentiment, but try telling it to artists who haven't made it yet, and just want someone to hear their work.
GRACIAS
Mike Patton is one of my favs because he is able to capture so many essences of the universal beat in his projects and sometimes by doing that he is able to create a whole new style. A lot of people live their lives listening to 1 or 2 genres of music and it shows. Someone who is aware and open to the universal pulse creates music like he does. The only poor taste is close mindedness. And the Jonas brothers.
even though I didn't understand language-wise, I still got the idea about what the older people where talking about (at the end) about Patton's music. so funny how they changed their opnions from seeing Faith No More to seeing Mondo Cane. fantastico fantastico haha and Ricky Martin part.. great great interview, insightful and no stupid, usual questions.
It would've been nice to have had English subtitles towards the end of this video, when the ladies "endured" some of the most aggressive music Patton has ever made! Nevertheless, I think their facial expressions spoke volumes!
@likkyla all those old people are saying that patton is disgusting and sings horrible, but at 47:45 you see someones granny laughing and saying "that crazy man who came here.. Patton!" (she went to last metallicas concert in chile and shes more than 70 years old).. then the old man at 47:58 says that theres a mix of two things, something related to the devil and something related to catholic people and he says something about the gregorian chant, like if Patton is trying to do something likethat
* Cheers for the guy who got the entreview. * It doesn't mention the documental. It cuts and there is MP talking about it. Out of context. * He had 3 opportunities to ask MP about it's own mistakes. * What is the role of FNM on his carrer of experimentalism?
The content of this interview is so poetic... American media doesn't descend below the surface to truly allow us to understand the "artists". I'm American and I hate that. Then again... the American media doesn't interview many "ARTISTS"
Still trying to figure out what he uses in his hair. I thought it was Dax but Dax is far too loose. Then I thought it was Layrite...but Layrite doesn't have that wet look....then I thought it was Gorilla Snot Hair Gel...but his hair still moves around when he headbangs...perhaps hair tonic?
You are right, but we can forget that he started w/ Mr Bungle -- not FNM... so he was already trying. I think, the interviewer could talk about the FNM "POPability".
When they showed them Faith no more videos they're saying "oooh gross, that guy's so disrespectful. (Mike getting all the spits)" Oh but there's a old woman super rocker lol But when they showed to the old folks the Mondo Cane videos, they're like "wow, this is music, this is beautiful music".
Man, I want to know what the old folks are saying at the end of this video! I'm guessing, they went from "this guy is mental" to "oh, this guy can actually sing and he's brilliant when hew wants to be".

This is why Mike Patton is one of my all time favorite artist!

Very rare that Mike would do an interview like this, he must really respect this guy. He is such an amazing person - I wish more people in showbusiness were like that.
Mike you're a fantastic artist! Thanks for Mondo Cane!
From Sicily :D
Quality TV in Chile! Great TV program and great interview. I couldn't' imagine a best conversation about Mike Patton's work and art in general. Now I'm excited to see more from this Séptimo Vicio show!
20 years and I am still in love
I’d say that was a pretty good answer to the question of artistic heroes he’d like to work with. Having an answer for that is an overwhelming thing to organize in the head and verbalize, especially on the spot.

Really great interview with M. Patton ! One of the best - if not the best - I've seen so far !
Earlier on, when Patton is talking about the responsibility of musicians to make original music that is fresh. I mean, it's easy for him to say! Even though I only understand English, I get the ending of this video. Brilliant post. Thanks so much for putting this up!
For me, he is one of the most creative people right now, or maybe one of the most creative people ever. Such a great person.
Great interview .Thank+s for sharing.
Mike Patton... A Real Artist. Thanks for posting a great Interview! :)
Muchos muchos gracias! Best interview with Mike, ever!
MP is one of a kind. I'm listening to yet another band of his musical world, Guano Padano, super atmospheric noir and western music.
Genial !!
Nunca habia escuchado hablar a Patton hablar tan serio
Muchas gracias!
Mike is so amazing. And he speaks the truth, artists today love to conform just to make money.
QUE GRANDE PATTON!!

I see Patton like some sort of Tony Stark of music. And he looks like.
You're the best for uploading this!! thx
How can he be so sexy?
Thanks!
Pelao pedante.

Great interview!
I watch this every day. :)
OMG Really? Are you still alive?
Nosfell, in connection with creation of own language, springs immediately to mind.

qué excelente la entrevista...!!!
Gran elección para el intro. Maestros.
I'm speachless..
Faith No More - Mike Patton Brazilian Interview 1991 (PT 1)

Patton is a genius. Such an intelligent and talented dude.
El entrevistado GENIAL!!!, el entrevistador....penca penca !!!

que es bakan Mike Patton
he speaks the TRUTH
What is the song around 21 minute mark?
Parsimonia mijo!!!
era scalinatella pero gracias igual :D
About what where they talking 'something amazing and great' the interviewer did? Mike is talking about it arround 42.50min
I think it's simply hair tonic rather than a paste/pomade. It flops around fairly easily on stage. Lucky Tiger maybe.
usa grasa creo
It's heavy metal.
Nah jk. I think he would sometimes use horse tails or whatever in his hair
I think he uses Murray’s Pomade
wow that ending
Hahaha what were them older people saying at the end LOL
@16CharlyV sí jaja secos y locos como nadie. Saludos
You are right, but we can forget that he started w/ Mr Bungle -- not FNM... so he was already trying.
I think, the interviewer could talk about the FNM "POPability".
Ok, I have hust learned to read and I was able to decipeher that of the screen alle by myself.

Max Lafertte yo tb estaria cagada
When they showed them Faith no more videos they're saying "oooh gross, that guy's so disrespectful. (Mike getting all the spits)" Oh but there's a old woman super rocker lol
But when they showed to the old folks the Mondo Cane videos, they're like "wow, this is music, this is beautiful music".
-Shut the fuck up
-wooooo!
xDD
Man, I want to know what the old folks are saying at the end of this video! I'm guessing, they went from "this guy is mental" to "oh, this guy can actually sing and he's brilliant when hew wants to be".
Mark Fleischhaker hahahahaha yeah that is what they say, very hilarius 😂
