Is there a way to prevent the accumulation of dirt along the films edge after installation???? I have a white vehicle and it has a black edge from accumulation of dirt.
Dirt is dirt--There is no way to prevent it from accumulating around the edges. You can however clean it with a very soft bristle toothbrush. If the film has lifted and dirt is underneath it, it can only be fixed by cutting it away but that should be left to a professional!
My car ppf from 3M damage just in 2-3 years and now I am struggling to remove the ppf. Waste of money You can repaint whole body of your car much lesser cost then this fellow charging. Don't waste your hard earned money on this rubbish things. 3M is telling you opted for 3 years warranty film, so they can't help.
If you let some random Yahoo install it that's going to be the end result with 3m warranties the film for 10 years if it's applied by a certified installer....
PPF is a sacrificial material. It takes the damage instead of your paint. When you remove the PPF, you should have some pretty great looking factory paint under there. Think about what that bumper would look like if it had taken those 3 hits itsself, plus all of the thousands of normal sized rock hits that the PPF absorbed without you even knowing or seeing damage. 👍🏻
So you can just use instalation gel instead of soap and water right ?

They seem to wrap the ppf around the edge of the panel so no dirt would be able to get underneath
you can try clay barring before applying the ppf film

lol you are not gonna get a decent paint job for under 3k. A good paint job is going to be up to 7k

Sounds like it was installed incorrectly. It should have curved under the edges. Maybe the installer was lazy
