- Download Festival has still not announced any Headliners for 2023. Why? And why has it caused so much speculation? Here's why....

They’ve announced that the lineup is gonna be announced on the 6th November 😌
Been going since 2009. At this point I’ve seen almost any headliner or potential headliner they could book as they don’t seem to switch it up much. Would hop that being the 20th anniversary, they would take a gamble given that the 4th day is a selling point but I’m not getting my hopes up. I’ll enjoy it either way, unless it rains all weekend.

I really hope it will be soon! I reckon that a headliner has pulled out or become unavailable and they are scrambling to find a replacement!

Hellfest and Graspop are also big June festivals that haven't made announcements yet so it seems possible a band that was going to play all three has pulled out.
Ohh I completely forgot about that! You might be right… maybe I’ll look into it ;)
Or maybe because a big headliner (Metallica) want to announce all their summer festivals dates at the same time.

Yeah, there’s a lot of things surrounding the RIP tickets too that people are annoyed about. Not even to mention the issue with car parking tickets this year!
im probably in the minority but id love to see metallica over two separate dates haha but yeh maybe just give metallica a longer set instead?
Yeah, GnR were meant to do a 3hr set but it was only and hour and a half but a longer set would give way for another headliner!

2023 would be a perfect time to have multiple new headliners and bands that haven't played for over a decade.
Ghost and BMTH being the new headliners, with Metallica and MCR being the returning bands.
But Metallica x2/BMTH/Slipknot seem the most likely.
I completely agree! I’m not a massive fan of Ghost but I am all up for new headliners!
But yeah, Metallica, BMTH, Metallica, Slipknot is the most likely. Not completely excited by it though. Hoping a few other bands are announced with it so I can be a little more excited!
Well a month later. And some vocal complaints but this is the fastest selling Download in history so Metallica going twice is going over just fine.
I mean, there are more than Metallica there so maybe people are interested in others or maybe because it’s the 20th year, people are excited to see what else is going to be there? I think even outside of the acts, it’s going to be exciting to see whether they’re going to do more to the village or arena to really make it special!

@@christophersims3319 Oh gosh! I didn't think about that! Quiet Camp wasn't too busy this time but if it is a sellout, they need to be aware of all the mess that is going to get left at the end!
