1. A US citizen cannot receive a full knighthood - only U.K. or Commonwealth citizens can. Americans can receive an honorary knighthood.
2. A citizen of another country has never been offered U.K. citizenship in order to receive a full knighthood, although they can apply for citizenship (like anyone else can) and then have their knighthood made full.
3. You can hold dual citizenship in the U.K. and the U.S. - he wouldn’t have had to give up his American citizenship
4. Giuliani was offered an honorary knighthood in 2002 for his service following 9/11 and he ACCEPTED it.

It's pretty common around the world for countries to have their elected leaders with such powers (as being able to give pardons).
But this is hardly ever used by any country other than the United States. And certainly not for friends or associates of the political leaders (except most recently).
Maybe the rest of the world recognized quite early that there's a danger in allowing a leader to hold such power.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday. A good sized group of vaccinated family. Good food, good company, and everyone very thankful to be together. Didn't hear anything about mike pillow filing anything, oh,that's right, nobody signed on......it was a really beautiful, great day.
We did basically the same thing at our house. We were all thankful we could find food because of all the empty shelves at all the stores? Another BS story the Republicans ran with? My wife works Strange hrs and we had just returned from a long needed vacation. She found the perfect turkey the Wednesday before Thanksgiving day lol. The hardest thing to find was someone to volunteer to do dishes after dinner lol. God bless and we hope your family remains safe and healthy through these trying times. Peace ✌

So far, Seth’s “A Closer Look” segments have been on fire over the past month or so. At first, I thought the return of the studio audience would throw off those hilariously chaotic tangents, but they’ve gotten better as time goes on. In fact, I think the humor of “A Closer Look” has improved tremendously over the past 20 months, and it’s a segment I look forward to watching during the week.
Wonder if we’ll have “Corrections” this Friday, because of the Thanksgiving holiday.
This one was a bit sub-par, I thought. The audience's response was mild, too.

Seth is the only comedian who does not mince words when it comes to Trump and the GOP. The others, even the great ones like Colbert, still pretend that the GOP is a political party. Seth makes it clear that they are a criminal organisation like the mob.
I, too, was concerned about the audience coming back, concerned that Seth would start pandering to the audience like Colbert does. I'm very happy to say I was wrong and that Seth has proceeded unaltered (and, quite frankly, unhindered) by the audience.
A President's pardoning power should have stipulations, especially when considering pardoning individuals that have a clear conflict of interest and should handled differently. Had Trump been re-elected he would have pardoned all the January 6 insurrectionists. But he didn't when he did have the power because he knew (or someone told him) that to do so would have hurt him politically. So all the participants were left to hang and abandoned by their leader. It must have stung a bit to be given the cold shoulder by the man who prodded them to do his dirty work. At some point I hope they realise that they have been conned into believing in the Big Lie and putting themselves in bodily harm for a man who couldn't care less about them or their wellbeing. But I have no pity for them, nor should anyone.
Yes! In this case Stone played the "good soldier" and took the hit while refusing to give up info on the crime boss DJT! Stone was then rewarded for his loyalty with the pardon. And somehow, and with a straight face, they call the left fascists!

If we're updating the power to pardon, I'd add this: you can do so only after a conviction (as the pertinent details should see the light of day) OR the pardoner has to expressly state in the pardon SPECIFICALLY the illegal things that are being pardoned. No blanket pardons!
Why should the president be allowed to pardon anyone? We already have a Justice system, isn’t that supposed to determine guilt, innocence, and appropriate sentence without involving the favoritism of the president?
@@mjn245 Pardons aren't bad, it's people. Besides, sometimes they're needed to correct an injustice. But there should be some way to stop someone with that power when they state in public to their henchmen not to worry when they get caught doing dirty deeds for him that if they keep their mouths shut he has their back.

That Bannon loves the idea of making holidays worse for families is so telling of who he really is. Kind of his bottom line, hate for all things peace, love and kindness. So often I have those moments of wow; this is reality now. A guy that sold crappy pillows has some political swing and he’s selling a product that’s even worse quality than the pillows.
What I find truly shocking is the price of the pillows and that anyone bought them.
I'm not exactly sure how Mike and Donny originally hooked up but I do know that Mike was invited to the White House and this apparently made him feel like someone of importance.
