I've always enjoyed Seth. But time without an audience was AMAZING for him. Now the audience is back (bless) and Seth's new impressions, inside jokes from the pandemic attic days and just general Weekend Update feels are so on fire, I feel like he's the best he's ever been and we love him more than ever.
Considering the history of Christmas, I find it amusing that the Christians in the US have locked onto it as this pillar of Christian piety and traditions. They're celebrating a pagan holiday, following pagan traditions, and participating in pagan ceremonies, rituals and deity worship. Pretty much all of it; The Christmas tree, the date itself, drinking mead and mulled wine/cider, mistletoe, lighting up the house, making a fire, the concept of Santa Claus, the concept of elves, magic, gift exchange, bells, singing, parties, holly, the idea of getting coal if you're bad, the 12 days of Christmas, gingerbread men and houses, the feast, building snowmen.. That's all pagan. It isn't even the birthday of Jesus, by the most educated guesses, his birthday is March or April. Christmas commemorates the time the church changed itself to accept all this pagan stuff because it was the only way they could get them to stop celebrating the solstice/Yule/Saturnalia/Alban/etc. I know everyone is aware that Christmas is a pagan holiday with Jesus's fake birthday slapped on it, it still never fails to amuse me when they start on that "War on Christmas" crap. Like if they were really devout, you'd think they would be against Christmas, and protest it. Demand the birth of Jesus return to its actual date. Refuse to participate in all the pagan stuff. It just so perfectly illustrates their hypocrisy and the misguided nature of their beliefs.
It just seems to be a deliberate design now, regardless of whether it started as coincidence. Moving the date away from the holiday season would detangle the superstructure at play. That is: Christian superiority, capitalism (big spending period), and the joining of church and state despite our constitution warning against that very thing. To stop any of the "tradition" would be to break the reality of a large portion of people, despite the fact that it'd be a *return* to reality. Stopping that won't happen anytime soon, I think. Also, most of the reason I see for justifying Christmas as we do now, is because "that's how it was last year, and the year before that." Not because it's something we actually saw and came to believe in ourselves. You put that on the table for a child - or an adult - alongside the other options and ask them what they think? A lot of them might not choose the way Christmas is done "traditionally" in the USA. And we can't have that, so the option is taken out of the equation altogether. This is Christmas, and if you don't subscribe to it you're a bad person who doesn't like jolly tidings and gift-giving (because who cares about the other love languages?). It's all quite broken.
Easter's pretty good too. Ask any Christian what rabbits, eggs and chicks are all about. As well as most other spring related themes. IT'S SEX, ALL ABOUT SEX AND BREEDING Jesus got grafted onto the Roman f*ck Holiday XDDD
@@DrewUniverse I was commenting on the hypocrisy. What you're saying is valid, it's just not what I was talking about, my point was focused on how dysfunctional their belief systems are and how hypocritical they so blatantly are. Like according to them being gay will get you eternal damnation and practicing pagan rituals will too, but Christmas is painted as this holy period, despite fact that they actively engage in the pagan rituals of it and only pretend it's about Christ for a church service and a dinner prayer. You're a sinner for wearing revealing clothing because it's immodest but the Evangelical wife can receive jewelry, fashionable items, hair and makeup products, get their nails done with pagan themes like Yule trees, and they're not immodest. Abortion is another ticket to hell but the preacher can eat his body weight in shrimp every year and he's still a holy man. If I can't laugh at the hypocrisy then all they do is piss me off. I respect religions but I do not respect bigots and I'll call out people who are trying to hide their bigotry beneath the cloak of religious devotion. Like the Evangelicals are not a religion, they're an extremist group of some of the most bigoted, hypocritical, hateful, and absurd beliefs I've seen. It amuses me that they're so high and mighty yet unknowingly engage in pagan rituals and declaring a culture war to keep the pagan rituals in place. They might as well be endorsing child sacrifices to Moloch as far as their scripture says.
Whilst I don't agree with the return of the audience, I love how he interacts with them just as he continues to banter with his much larger online and television audiences!
Seth gets about 1 Million Live viewers every night on TV. Though he has 4M YT subscribers, he often only gets less than 100K views per video, with occasional ones ranging from 200K-1M. I'm sure the TV advertising brings in WAY more money than anything YT can offer.

Yep, they busted a wheel off a suitcase of mine once
Also, if you wanna buy a lotta duty-free goods in the airport and need a new bag to store 'em. My uncle, and quite a lot of wealthy Chinese tourists I've seen do that too. I was like, "oh, that's one of the reasons, huh!" to myself cause' I wondered too 😂
I always figured there was a non-zero portion of the air travelling public that travels frequently enough that seeing a new set of luggage in a storefront makes them go "ooh, that's some nice looking luggage!" That population might be fairly small, but they're ALL already at the airport.

@Marie Smith Marie Smith, can it.
Easter's pretty good too. Ask any Christian what rabbits, eggs and chicks are all about. As well as most other spring related themes.
IT'S SEX, ALL ABOUT SEX AND BREEDING
Jesus got grafted onto the Roman f*ck Holiday XDDD
@Marie Smith Ignorance about holidays seems to be quite a trend. For you, especially.

Seth gets about 1 Million Live viewers every night on TV. Though he has 4M YT subscribers, he often only gets less than 100K views per video, with occasional ones ranging from 200K-1M. I'm sure the TV advertising brings in WAY more money than anything YT can offer.
