Much tighter percussion on the home version as well as a better mix in general. In the arcade version it seems like the different tracks are stepping all over each other like a bad mix for a local metal band.
Nice video! Can't beat the nostalgia of the NES version, it sounds tighter to me as well. Like @miket2646 mentioned, the arcade version, while technically better, sounds a bit harsher to me with the mix.
The sound in the the arcade is amazing especially the explosions they brung it to a whole other level in super contra though

Yeah it does but we were so used to the NES version.
