I like the idea of the plastic mechs. I'd really love to see IWM start to update their sculpts. I don't mind them being in metal, just some are so old it's not funny.
I am not a big fan of the ReSeen metals. They look so damn GOOFY. I can't stand 'em. The CGL NuSeen plastics are the best damn minis the game's ever had. But I can't justify $25/mini for plastics. That's WH40K territory, lol. But once in awhile I don't mind.
I got myself a Stormcrow and Tuck's opinions closely match my own. It's a great mini, but hoo boy $25 is really steep for one mech. I bought it to show my support for more mechs being produced out in the wild and because I do love the Storm Crow, but long term I won't be shelling out for very many of these. Given that the standard plastic minis in the lance packs retail for ~$6/mech (MSRP seems to have gone up $5/box recently), my expected price for a single premium mech would probably be in the $8-12 range.
Honestly, I don't see the need to buy these "premium" miniatures anymore. This one was good quality, but not something I feel like I need to spend $15 or more on for one plastic mini. That's metal price darn near.
The $25 price point is the nail the coffin for me. I don't get the appeal of these one off plastics from Creative Juggernaut. We have IWM for individual minis, and the sculpts on the new CGL Force Packs are really good at a much better price point. Add to the fact that I can't support Creative Juggernaut because of the people behind it, and the Seditionist Stormcrow is a hard pass for me. Very good video, though, Tuck, I think you hit on all the pertinent aspects of it and give the viewers a pretty solid idea of what the product is.
@@BattleBound It's an aesthetic/design language thing. It's a great design cue to sell the observer that Clan mech designers have different priorities. For example, at a glance the small hands help emphasize that the Stormcrow's priority is ballistics over fisticuffs or raiding. I also point out that they are also hilarious to look at.
Glad you see still going strong. Very informative as always.

If I am honest, I'll probably not shell out for any more of these.
Though the likely learned their lesson on production volumes, I wonder if this is really as popular as the Clanbuster Black Knight.
I honestly don't think it was
Thought the map packs were expensive, oh boy. Guess were heading to GW pricing pretty soon.

Stormcrow!

Hand is still too big.
I dunno. Doesn't really bug me.
