The EPL has a homegrown rule where at least 8 of thé squad of 25 players must either have a british passport, or a foreign born player has spent 3 years (not seasons) in an english team (youth or senior side) by age 21. Arsenal cant sign all those players without selling some foreign born players first.

Great video bro Always learn a lot from you. Out of those 3 midfield options you suggested ( Onana, Fofana and wieffer) who do you think will be the best fit for us?
I agree with your idea of delaying the marquee forward signing, we can get an affordable winger but making sure the rest defence will last a decade is imperative. I'm also interested in Havertz spending more time as our 9 and getting a projecty striker later, I don't mind Sesko but I'm in love with the prospect of Evan Ferguson. Your thoughts on him? Also thoughts on Joao Neves?
Players like Ferguson are another reason to delay. Joao Neves is in the same ilk as Frenkie. Would be terrific and if we want to spend Rice money, he’s your man
Love your content Harvey! But question to you and any other fans reading Do you think pushing Saka & Martinelli further up and into the box will that be enough firepower to overcome mid blocks or the biggest teams? Especially away from home and in the Champions league I guess what I'm asking is does Arsenal have the patience to trust in Saka & Martinelli another year to become clinical (Salah & Mane) especially in the later stages of Champions league I know they are young but time will tell! Another trophy less season for this squad and players like Saliba will question especially if Madrid come calling...
It’s a great question, and my answer would be this… I truly believe inside the penalty box Martinelli is our best finisher (can open up, strike cleanly off both feet, supreme potential in the air, movement etc). It’s just about making him our volume shooter, the finish point for our attacks. As for the UCL knockouts, I also agree with you. We need a moments player. Someone who can generate 1-3 per season in the crucial moments. But I don’t think this has to come exclusively in the forward line or for mega mega bucks (although it can and I’m not gonna complain if it does😂). I truly believe though platforming our wide men while adding incredible progressors to access then in our BUILD-UP is the best solution for this window. What do u think?
@@harveygration definitely need a moments player like you say I reckon, in addition to sorting out the build up! Let’s see what Arteta is cooking the next couple of months, I trust him regardless!
Harvey would u cover James McNicholas' article about Arsenal season review. I would want to hear ur insight about this, from the Row with arteta and his number 2 to the potential Sale of Big Gabby.
I do think we need a couple of forwards (St and LW) in addition to a LCM and a athletic LB option. Ideally, Sesko, Frenkie De Jong and Hato which could cost about 100 mill total but the winger option is a bit tricky. We need a game changing striker, when the going gets tough, someone to occupy defenders and be a bit more instinctive and Sesko is that guy and 50 mill is a huge opportunity instead of spending a 120 mill on Oshimen, since they solve similar problems in this team. As well we need pace in the wing positions because without Martinelli playing we struggle a bit to transition, unpopular opinion but id be very happy going back in for Mudryk for anything less than 50 mill (very unpopular, i know), but on his day, he has frightening pace, he has better dribbling than Martinelli on the Left, can take on two men at a time and he has great ball striking, he can be our fear factor and game changer, like how Sane was able to weave past multiple players against us and caused all kinds of problems, all he needs is a better coach and confidence, and he'll get both with us. A LCM obviously is needed and De Jong is a progression machine both on the carry and passing, and he has always been incredible at finding wingers in behind, also has showed an ability to make runs in behind and get on the end of crosses particularly before he had so much progression responsibility at Barca and he is an underrated duel winner. And the athletic LB role, Hato is ideal, I know he plays as a CB but his athleticism, pace, carries his passing ability and his left footedness makes him a very interesting option to both invert and overlap as a LB in a way no one in the team can at the moment, he is still defensively outstanding and he will allow the LW closer to goal. And it allows Tomiyasu to serve as cover for Saliba and Timber as an option to cover both full back positions depending on the game. That's just my opinion, what do you think Prof? And who would be your ideal signing in midfield for anything less than 85 million?
Why would anybody write off Martinelli for one awful season that’s not entirely his fault. He is still progressing man and I see a huge potential in him.
@@Josh890_0 Firstly I dont think i mentioned Martinelli being a bad player. I just don't think he'll reach his potential on the left wing. Secondly, yes it's not totally his fault but he does do things that make him hard to combine with him when facing a low block. He dribbles with his head down, in a straight line, so he either ends up losing the ball or having to cross with his weaker foot. Sometimes when he has the Chance to cut in with the ball, he hesitates, again he looks down too much so even when Havertz played at LCM and would make those inverted runs in behind, Martinelli wouldn't be able to make the pass and Sometimes he holds onto the ball too long, there's a reason why Trossard performed better in the same role, the role isn't the problem, Martinelli isnt a bad player either, Martinelli just doesn't fit it anymore. Mudryk for all his problems, fits that role, he has his head up when dribbling so he can make good passes in behind, he is more unpredictable when dribbling (he can cut inside with the ball without an overlapping fullback and can go on the outside as well) and can get past multiple players at a time. So imo, Martinelli's long term future is as a Striker. I mean, what are his biggest strengths?? His pace, his runs in behind, movements and his finishing. That's literally a Striker's profile, the previous season, he was good at LW because he didn't have to 2 players on in him at a time and he had more space, right now, with how teams play against us...this isn't the case anymore. Obviously he should still play there because he can improve and Mudryk in my opinion would be competition for him not someone to bench Martinelli...but the performances would decide that.
I would justify Hato if we got a Wieffer/Onana type in MF that could play CB and step into midfield to cover any Saliba injury ever. That’s where my head is at right now. Obviously Hato is a terrific player. FDJ would probs be below £85m due to Barca’s finances tbf.
Many thanks! Yes, yes, and yes! If he ever was to it would push Saliba to LCB in a 4 to then move into the CCB when Dio (or whoever) promotes. As I said, Saliba can also do this, but depends what Mikel wants!
@@harveygration that’s what I thought but was sure. His line breaking passes really excite me. I don’t think we have that profile at CB currently (having looked at Saliba’s pass map). Just hope it happens.
Great video. What do you think of Xavi Simons? I don't know if its even possible to get him but I've managed to convince myself that he's perfect for us lol
Artem Dovbyk (and if not then I’ll settle for Sesko), Johan Bakayoko, Bruno Guimaraes, Youssef Fofana (sell Partey to directly fund this one) & Jorrel Hato will win Arsenal the league
Libero is a ‘sweeper’. In a 3-2 axis it would look like this: CB-----Libero------CB CM------CM An inverted CB creates the same axis but through one of the L/RCB’s stepping into midfield alongside the 6, pushing an 8 BTL, and the L/RB’s tucking into the back three with the other CB in the middle.
harvey we need de jong and osimhen, also with arteta's comments about being desperate to win the title, are you confident we win the title next season and also dominate this premier league in the future especially if pep leaves?
Just answered the final question on your other comment. As always thanks for being so active I really appreciate it. Ideally you would want both a superstar attacker AND MF, but in one window it’s difficult. Again, depends how Mikel sees filling squad holes vs adding extra details. We did a good job at balancing that last season.
Obviously totally subjective and depends on your definition of project (i take it as a collaborative and calculated estimate towards long term success)…but… 1. Arsenal 2. City (if no charges) 3. Chelsea (under Maresca: lots of good principles, club need to fully commit though and just ALLOW THE SQUAD TO DEVELOP) 4. Liverpool, Spurs, United. It’s all totally dependent on so many factors though. INEOS just have to give United a capable structure on and off pitch, Ange has definitely T3 potential for league position, and for Slot at Pool it’s how his passing game is allowed to translate over a series of years. Edwards back is a big boost. Let’s see if Liverpool take a full JDP and approach All sides have potential to be at the top of the league. It’s the most competitive in years.
That’s not exactly what I mean. But as projects they have the potential to each challenge. Not all will have that level of success but on an individual level each time has the capacity pending a lot of factors.
(With how I think squad building will progress…) Arsenal, City, Chelsea, L’Pool. Very early though and in no particular order. I was very good w my predictions last year so that’s all I can say with trusting me😂😂. I’ll have an in-depth predictions video before end of window tho
Fofana is just as good as bruno guimaraes or douglas luiz. it's just that he's never played in the prem. 1 good season in the prem and these midfielders who was worth £30-£50m are now suddenly worth £100m😂 Sesko is another player arsenal could save money at £55m. Considering how well havertz has played as a striker we can start havertz and have sesko as backup for now. In 1 or 2 seasons with arteta he could be a top striker. I would expect havertz to score 15-20 prem goals if he started 30 games as striker. That's without any penalties which is elite.
If we want to win the prem and fight for ucl we have to sign at least nine players in my honest opinion sell (ramdale tavares teirney zinni kiwior lakingo partey veira smith odegaard niles nketia jesus patinho beireth Marquinhos) all these players for at least 450m£ sign ( a good goalkeeper diamonde hato the turkinsh left back I don’t know his name Anderson from atlanta fofana Monaco xavi Simons kudos isak/sesko) these 9 players will improve us massively the most shock sale is our captain I believe ode as good as he is he is holding saka back bcs of his lef footed play he can’t interchange or overlap with saka they both lefties it’s they both wanna occupy the same position Xavi Simons will improve saka so much saka can become like salah goal scoring winger who go inside and score more goals he doesn’t have to be wasted out wide all the time and Simons is so good in transition can dribble carry the ball so good. Our squad for next season 22 players raya/new keeper ben/tomi saliba/diamonde big gabby/hato timber/Turkish left back rice/Jorginho Anderson/fofana Xavi/Ethan nyweri saka/kudos haverts/sesko or isak martineli/trossad these squad I believe can win is the league foreal and the only question is can we get isak if no sesko and selling our captain as good as he is we need transition monster with right footed who can make saka like salah a goal score inside forward and Xavi Simons fit the profile so well what do u say my opinion I know selling odegaard is controversial but do u understand what am saying
Oh my goodness would I!!!!! Don’t know if you remember but in one of my vids last summer I used him as a midfield archetype for who we should sign. Double 6 or 8 he is best but as you can see he can invert from full back play the deepest in midfield like last night. Wow wow wow. Dexterous in the legs, fluid movement, fierce core strength, carrying, ZOI, ball striking and intense OOP. Love everything abkut him happy he got his props last night
@@harveygration...and he could easily hold the width while timber tucks in allowing martinelli closer to goal, also allowing for us to maintain our defensive discipline higher up the pitch, he could be our marquee signing this season and also left foot, I feel he's the one of the profiles we actually need
For wingers, Eze would be perfect for us. Eze is skillful and tricky on the ball. I’m not saying he is on the same level, but he can do skill moves, just like Ronaldinho, Neymar, Figo, Mahrez or Hleb could do skill moves. What amazing about Eze is that he can also be wide playmaker at the same time, similar to BernardoSilva, Foden, ColePalmer or DavidSilva. Again, I’m not saying he is on the same level, but he can be that type of player. Martinelli and Saka need space to run into. Against a low block, they lack Ronaldinho/Neymar magic to dribble through tight spaces. And I don’t think they are Spanish enough to be a wide playmaker. The fact that Eze could do both, with good decision making, strength, pace and defensive contribution, is extremely incredible.
@Top comment it appears as though arteta wants the Wide playmaker type to be on his wings instead of the wide forward, we shall see what happens with martinelli next season.
I’m just desperate to win it whilst Pep is still here, however long that may be. It’s why I kinda wanted to win the PL>UCL last season (only time that’s happened). Would’ve taken either though! 😂. I think we are in the best possible place to do that, yes.
harvey am a big arsenal fan, but when do we start to accept phil foden and cole palmer are better than bukayo saka comfortably, they are more creative than saka, palmer is a better ball striker and finisher than saka, links up better, yes we like saka. but am sorry palmer and foden is better and might start ahead of saka at the euros, tell me what u think, do u agree?
Agreed. But foden out on the right wouldn't fit Arsenal as Saka does. Foden is the man at City but he is more free than Saka. The transfer window will be so good.
He might have the relax himself when Mikel whips out a 70-sheeter PowerPoint presentation of why we need a flying LB then😂😂😂 Plus he can be winger depth too which is exciting
For strikers, if we wanted a false 9, then we should sign one of Zirkzee, AmineGouiri, GabrielVidovic or even FerranTorres or Liberali. If we wanted a taller profile, then Schick or Gyokeres would be great signings.
For midfielders, AlexBaena, DaniOlmo and FlorianNeuhaus are the players we needed. TommyDoyle is also good but he has recently signed for Wolves. I’m not sure if we are still monitoring Aouar but the talent is still there. Also, a very unpopular opinion, bringing back Ceballos would not be a bad idea. I also wondered if Tonali would be available for a discount. DeJong’s wages, BrunoGuimaraes’ and DouglasLuiz’ transfer fees are expensive. Kimmich is getting old. Zubimendi is good but I don’t think he is as amazing as people are saying. Unuvar needs more experience. Sell Lokonga and Partey. Loan out ESR and Fabio. Reduce the wage bill, let them gain first team experience, and increase their market value.
Kimmich in the same mould as the other CM’s I mentioned. Many many more out there in comparison to the forward market. Hato depends on Arteta’s projection of the squad and would also signal the end of another wide defender (most likely Kiwior)
@@harveygration the Arsenal team needs a player that has won major trophies. That’s what makes Kimmich stand out from the rest of the other options. The other 3(Hato, Fofana, Sessko). And every unknown and unproven player out there! You must know more than Arteta, Edu and the scouts. I wonder why youre not working at a club yet!
@@abiodunodeleye I know right? I’m doing my due diligence as the next Luis campos. It would be cool to be a scout or even a director of football though.
those are some quality prospects you sure you don’t work for the club?
@@jalen5923 I wish I worked the club or any for that matter but no unfortunately not I just like football a lot and watch multiple leagues when I have the time to spare
The EPL has a homegrown rule where at least 8 of thé squad of 25 players must either have a british passport, or a foreign born player has spent 3 years (not seasons) in an english team (youth or senior side) by age 21.
Arsenal cant sign all those players without selling some foreign born players first.
when you speak about an overlapping FB like a Davies, I wonder if you have any thoughts on Feynoord's Hartman who has been linked recently, seems to be coming off injury but has traits similar to Davies but I would assume would be much more affordable to allow flexibility in team building
Can’t say I’ve ever seen him play, sorry. My favourites are Davies, Dorgu, or Balde. First and last can double as winger depth genuinely too 😂
Foffana, Hato, Bijlow, Seshko, Kudus
Great video bro Always learn a lot from you. Out of those 3 midfield options you suggested ( Onana, Fofana and wieffer) who do you think will be the best fit for us?
Thanks so much. Onana is the Wieffer is off to Athleti I believe (?). Fofana is cheapest. If we get a FDJ/Kimm/Joao Neves type, go for Onana.
Would be terrific and if we want to spend Rice money, he’s your man
Sesko, Kimmich (more attainable than FDJ), Diomande, Bijlow, Saka backup
Love your content Harvey! But question to you and any other fans reading
Do you think pushing Saka & Martinelli further up and into the box will that be enough firepower to overcome mid blocks or the biggest teams? Especially away from home and in the Champions league
I guess what I'm asking is does Arsenal have the patience to trust in Saka & Martinelli another year to become clinical (Salah & Mane) especially in the later stages of Champions league
I know they are young but time will tell! Another trophy less season for this squad and players like Saliba will question especially if Madrid come calling...
It’s a great question, and my answer would be this…
I truly believe inside the penalty box Martinelli is our best finisher (can open up, strike cleanly off both feet, supreme potential in the air, movement etc).
I’ll have a read mate! Thanks for making me aware of it :)
Alphonso Davies would be Great signing... But he looks Real Madrid bound
@@Josh890_0 sorry for the essays 💀
I would justify Hato if we got a Wieffer/Onana type in MF that could play CB and step into midfield to cover any Saliba injury ever. That’s where my head is at right now. Obviously Hato is a terrific player.
FDJ would probs be below £85m due to Barca’s finances tbf.
And if Sesko was to be signed we would have to be patient with him. He certainly wouldn’t start for a while.
Great video Harvey. I love your work. Question: Do you think that Diomande can fulfil the Stones role?
Many thanks! Yes, yes, and yes! If he ever was to it would push Saliba to LCB in a 4 to then move into the CCB when Dio (or whoever) promotes. As I said, Saliba can also do this, but depends what Mikel wants!
@@harveygration that’s what I thought but was sure. His line breaking passes really excite me. I don’t think we have that profile at CB currently (having looked at Saliba’s pass map). Just hope it happens.
Willo defo has that in his locker. Diomande has the same guile with his passing though which is really exciting. Proper manipulator.
Great video. What do you think of Xavi Simons? I don't know if its even possible to get him but I've managed to convince myself that he's perfect for us lol
Like him, Eze, Musiala-those types-may not be the most balanced but I just want to add a carrier desperately. So yes wouldn’t mind at all
And thank you for the nice comment :)
Thanks Prof. Good video
Thanks again, James. Hope you’re good❤️
Artem Dovbyk (and if not then I’ll settle for Sesko), Johan Bakayoko, Bruno Guimaraes, Youssef Fofana (sell Partey to directly fund this one) & Jorrel Hato will win Arsenal the league
I was about to ask you what you would buy this summer, then I saw this 😂
Man u are an excellent communicator
Really kind of you man, really thank you❤️
But Zinchenko is very good in LCM role. Let's get a left back and put Zinchenko there.
I thing what you mean is CB as a libero, not inverted CB
Libero is a ‘sweeper’. In a 3-2 axis it would look like this:
CB-----Libero------CB
CM------CM
An inverted CB creates the same axis but through one of the L/RCB’s stepping into midfield alongside the 6, pushing an 8 BTL, and the L/RB’s tucking into the back three with the other CB in the middle.
harvey we need de jong and osimhen, also with arteta's comments about being desperate to win the title, are you confident we win the title next season and also dominate this premier league in the future especially if pep leaves?
Just answered the final question on your other comment. As always thanks for being so active I really appreciate it. Ideally you would want both a superstar attacker AND MF, but in one window it’s difficult. Again, depends how Mikel sees filling squad holes vs adding extra details. We did a good job at balancing that last season.
harvey please can you kindly rank the big 6 clubs in order in terms of best projects?
Obviously totally subjective and depends on your definition of project (i take it as a collaborative and calculated estimate towards long term success)…but…
1. Arsenal
2. City (if no charges)
3. Chelsea (under Maresca: lots of good principles, club need to fully commit though and just ALLOW THE SQUAD TO DEVELOP)
Let’s see if Liverpool take a full JDP and approach
All sides have potential to be at the top of the league. It’s the most competitive in years.
harvey on your last point i dont think its possible for 6 teams to challenge for the title at.once, dont u think?
That’s not exactly what I mean. But as projects they have the potential to each challenge. Not all will have that level of success but on an individual level each time has the capacity pending a lot of factors.
diomonde , onana, eze
Thank you!🙏
You’re welcome ❤️
harvey please as it stands tell me what you think the top 4 will be next season?
(With how I think squad building will progress…) Arsenal, City, Chelsea, L’Pool. Very early though and in no particular order. I was very good w my predictions last year so that’s all I can say with trusting me😂😂. I’ll have an in-depth predictions video before end of window tho
Fofana is just as good as bruno guimaraes or douglas luiz. it's just that he's never played in the prem. 1 good season in the prem and these midfielders who was worth £30-£50m are now suddenly worth £100m😂
Sesko is another player arsenal could save money at £55m. Considering how well havertz has played as a striker we can start havertz and have sesko as backup for now. In 1 or 2 seasons with arteta he could be a top striker. I would expect havertz to score 15-20 prem goals if he started 30 games as striker. That's without any penalties which is elite.
You’re not wrong at all. I think it would be a really smart choice to go for Fofana for depth
Nothing will excite me till Odegaard remains on that RHS........ Why Mikel Why 🙃
Who are your top 3 for the LCM role?
Frenkie, Neves, Kimmich.
If Camavinga was an option he would be in there.
🤞@@harveygration
Would you take camavinga as the LCM option? Harvey
He is the perfect player for that role.
@@harveygration...and he could easily hold the width while timber tucks in allowing martinelli closer to goal, also allowing for us to maintain our defensive discipline higher up the pitch, he could be our marquee signing this season and also left foot, I feel he's the one of the profiles we actually need
Then we should just take Kephren Thuram, he’s an absolutely amazing box to box option. Absolutely slept on though.
Camavinga is not attacking enough
We need a left 8 that can also score goals
harvey do u think arsenal win the title next season, especially if you get an LCM?
We need more than just that but the marquee MF is my personal most important piece. I’d love to say yes mate!
Benjamin Sesko or victor osimhen
Osi has the ability to transcend our attack. Just depends if Mikel wants a superstar CF or LW
Sesko
De jong
Fafarna
Kadioglu
Xavi simons
Gk
Kadioglu is another amazing shout. Imo closer to a cancelo player than a true overlapper but amazing nonetheless
Will Arsenal sell Partey to Spurs or Chelsea?
He wouldn’t fit either Club even if we wanted to (which we don’t). Will go abroad if he leaves.
Arteta only needs to buy isak and de jong…all our transfer money put it towards these two players and start the season .
Eze isn't a winger. He's a 10
@@igechasamuel3573 same as Hleb,Ronaldhino and Rosicky, so what's ur point?
@Top comment it appears as though arteta wants the Wide playmaker type to be on his wings instead of the wide forward, we shall see what happens with martinelli next season.
@@charles9489 his best games were from the 10 position
@@igechasamuel3573 doesn't mean he can't play from the wing though.
harvey when pep leaves next season, do you anticipate arsenal to dominate the premier league for a long time?
Davies wants to play as a winger
He might have the relax himself when Mikel whips out a 70-sheeter PowerPoint presentation of why we need a flying LB then😂😂😂
Plus he can be winger depth too which is exciting
@@harveygration haha
Harvey the GOAT!
❤️❤️
Those are signings west ham would make,no where near good enough
I repeat…
Kimmich(*priority)
Yousseff Fofana
Hato
Sessko
That is all you guys need to win it. You’re welcome Arsenal fans😂
