That's refreshing hearing from you. My son is 25. Debt free. We paid for his education in cash no loans. He already has a house that is paid for. Mostly because I had lupus and kidney disease and was afraid$ I was gonna leave him in this world alone. Guess what, I hear so much that he's spoiled. I got a new kidney Oct. 2. I am not rich. I'm a teacher. I bought basic adidas for $50 or $60 not Jordans. Now, he don't care about that stuff. Dont apologize because you had real parents. Thank God for that. I thank God. I bust my butt like your parents. More black parents need to do that.
There are more of us out here… we did the same for our children! I didn’t want to see them struggle if God forbid because tomorrow isn’t promised for any of us! I learned how to pray and have a real relationship with God because I want my children to be blessed in every way. I am so glad that you received the blessing that you needed! I stay getting dressed up for the Airport, because you never know who would saunter on by and boom your life is upgraded 😂. Also, yes sequins for everyday wear!!!
The 2nd half was honest lessons I needed to hear. Learning to be “your best self” takes effort for some ppl. (Me) when everything we see and hear is designed to bring out our insecurities.
1. I’ve pocket watched but I don’t actually ask or comment to the person. But just the thought, yes Leaving the behind in 2024
2. Also leaving behind being fake to ppl I don’t need in my space anyway.
3 Leaving behind filling dead air with all my story’s and crap no one needs to hear from me. It’s my business keep it to myself.
4. Sticking to a beauty regiment schedule so I’m always ready. Don’t gotta get ready.
5. Speaking of being the best version of me, going to wash my hair right now.

Thank you girl great advice. I’m planning on wearing everything in my closet I have with tags on it that’s been sitting there waiting for a special occasion. I work from home so it makes it a little hard but I guess every time I need to go to Costco I need to get dressed up.
Same! - I agree that working from home makes it a tad bit more difficult.
Is there a way to step out and work from a cafe or a co-working space ? But yes COSTCO can eat up the looks you serve! LOL

I work from home too during lock down I made sure I wore the heck out of everything in my closet. Grocery shopping , dressed up while I was home and taking out the trash . 😂
I heard you say it in another video and I really took it to heart about wearing my things! I have unapologetically stepped into work everyday since the holidays in a different coat bc I have a closet full and I need to wear my shit 😂
I’m a coat girl too. Of late been living in my extra long length coats got 3 major ones that’s been in rotation that I absolutely love and short tailored dresses been wearing them confidently. Life’s too short to save them for days that might never happen

I never heard of the term "pocket watching" but I could really relate to everything you said. Unfortunately, a lot people are not familiar with generational wealth and I think that's where it comes from a lot of times. ESPECIALLY when it comes to seeing women of color displaying luxury. A certain kind of woman can display their wealth without people batting an eye but when a woman of color does it....whew! The comments I get on my videos sometimes really make me want to check my calendar to see what year we're in.
