It’s really cool that you’re doing an S197 build that we could recreate on a decent budget. Unfortunately, you just bought the last clean S197 GT in the country so we’re all out of luck if we don’t have one yet 😂
A friend had a JLT catch can in his Whipple car with an RPG built engine. The closed loop catch can would cause the car to pull all the oil from the can into the blower once the throttle closed at the end of a 1/4 mile pass. We built a big baffled can thats vented to air, and swapped to aluminum valve covers. The JLT units aren't bad cans. Just too small, and sealed is not ideal for a blower application.
My engine builder on my 2009 GT500 deleted my JLT catch can and installed a VTA Watson Racing catch can ($600) it’s super fat and hard to find a good location but absolutely NOTHING gets by and my throttle body shows no sign of oil whatsoever. I think another popular one that’s the same design is called the “Peterson” catch can. Really appreciate all the time you donate to lead us astray…. I mean steer us in the right direction:)
Response from SCT when I asked when Lund would be back using SCT devices: "More than likely Lund will not be using our devices again. There was a big dispute with them and that is why they no longer sell our devices."
To the guy that said call it blowby, Crankcase pressure and blowby are 2 different things. Every engine has crankcase pressure, not every engine has blowby.
So thanks Alex you may have solved my mystery smell I can’t figure out!! My VTA catch can setup I have vented not far from the bottom of the firewall. I was just trying to make sure it wasn’t in front of the front tire. Never thought about this but my mystery smell smells like a fuel leak (it’s not leaking) or an evap issues (system holds pressure). This is my first VTA style catch can so I’m a noob in that retrospect. The smell you’re mentioning was it a fuel smell? My wife will be so happy if the issue is solved. No more headaches!! Well at least no more headaches related to my gt500! Well no more headaches related to the fuel smell in my gt500!! Lol
Well coming from a California smog tech wich we look for emission tampering components But carb legal forced induction kits what separates them is usually the tune They allow the monitors to set without a engine light coming on in order to pass the obd portion of the test Only real thing that separates the non carb kits and carb kits
For example let’s say I smog a 2015 mustang gt with a whipple kit and whipple tune and I hit pass on everything It will give a pass result Let’s say it’s tuned by blow by racing and I hit pass on everything It will give it a MODIFIED SOFTWARE result even thoe I hit pass on everything

What do you think of UPRs clean side separator that looks like it just throws the oil back on the driver side? I run on a UPR can on the passenger and I’ve found some oil on the line on the driver even with the intake and throttle body being clean. I know the driver is usually clean but since I found some residue one the line I rather be sure nothing is getting by and there is still flow of air. I rather not put another big catch can on that side of it doesn’t happen as much as the passenger side.

Octane booster makes the plugs look so bad. When I ran octane booster it is such an inconvenience when at the pump. But I would change the plugs every 2000 miles because they look so bad.

Not always. If you're from the north it is common for front seat bolts to rust from residual salt water coming off your shoes/boots during the winter. I've had a few cars I've owned (from new) where this has happened.
