I thought I could grab a roll from Home Depot and simply lay it out.... thanks for killing my dreams.....;-)
This has to be the best artificial install tutorial on TH-cam and I've looked at many. Awesome 👌
Wow, thanks!
Hello, I'm an Amazon seller, sorry to bother you. Do you need free turf? We're doing a review recently.
wow...i've always wondered how artificial turf is installed and once again, this vid is so detailed and enjoyed every aspect of it...thank you!
I find myself watching a lot of your videos for directions on new projects I'm working on. I appreciate your attention to detail and excellent explanation. Good Job...
One of these days I'll give you a call. I need this in our backyard. Great job as always!
12:20 what a beautiful looking yard, and no mowing!!!!👍🏻
A lot of work goes into this. Great install!
I know this video is a year old, but I feel compelled to comment because I learned so much. I'm a homeowner who has never installed artificial turf, but I have a huge yard that is all grass, and I would love to replace it.
Great video guys, I learned a lot that will help me with my DIY winter prep project.
Nice job! No steps skipped , quality work. Love it.
can the weed barrier go onto of the gravel/road base?
Actually a crucial step was missed with the seams
My wife and I had some professional installers out at our house to install K9 Turf. We have had it for almost four years and it is one of the best investments we have made in out home. We have two resident dogs and we also foster dogs for rescues and in training to be Assistance Dogs. We did our turf as a dog “potty”. A strip 8 feet wide by 30 feet long right off our garage that leads to our mud room.
It is installed over what is essentially a paver base for drainage and stability.
No more yellow spots in our lawn, the solids are easy to clean up and if you get the correct turf with backing meant for drainage the smell is far less than even natural grass due to better drainage. If you get the stuff from Menards of Home Depot that is NOT K9 Turf. It will smell WORSE than natural lawn as there are few of any drain holes. Our old house had that turf and it was stinky.
Yes, there's a lot of details in a good pet friendly turf
@@OdellCompleteConcrete I am a bit of a DIY guy but after watching a true pro install I am so glad we decided to do it “the right way” and pay a professional crew to install. After the added tools I would need to buy or rent not to mention the Chiropractic work I would need just to walk after the project - 100% worth it. Seriously a great investment.
Very excellent details ... also enjoyed watching the dog watching you guys!!

I like the idea of keeping the sprinkler to cool it off because I live behind a high school sports field with artificial turf. Very large area and it radiates so much heat, we can feel it. When it was grass it was a lot cooler in my backyard. Good job.
That's a great idea!

This reminds me of installing carpet in a house, kinda cool actually 😄
Absolutely awesome! Great job guys.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent concrete videos and now this! I’ve wondered about tackling something like this, but didn’t know the “art” of the project. It’s the small touches that make it look that good and knowing them is crucial. 👍🏻
I concur

What a GREAT Job narrator , You did such a great job !! You should be really proud of your work !!
Thanks
I think he also narrated Shawshank Redemption
Wow!! I'm super impressed! I love the way it looks. Cooling it and flushing it is definitely better than having to mow once a week and having a nasty dead looking yard..lol
Save water too
That looks rather impressive! Nicely done…

Excelente!

Good video. Thank you.

Good quality work!! Hey man would you service the Riverside area too??
Awesome 👍🏻

It's not sad or unhuman.....for some people like me, my allergies are so bad I have a hard time breathing at night that I can't even cut my own grass in spring to early summer. This looks like a better alternative to concrete. Moreover, I can't believe how well that guy cut the seem.
I'd rather my allergies to cut grass then living beside a homeowner with this. I give it 2-3yrs tops before they stop caring about maintaining it and it ends up soaked in urine/waste and dug up by the dog.
As for cutting your own grass, full face mask with correct filters. Something that covers everything, including your eyes. Also, never bring your hands to your face when doing yardwork. Things I wish I knew earlier.
yes that seem was perfect
Nice looking grass,
Hello, I'm an Amazon seller, sorry to bother you. Do you need free turf? We're doing a review recently.
What’s a rough price for something this size? Time to complete it? Whats your crew size? Amazing concept. We need this in San Antonio
What plate compactor did you use ? Any best options for plate compactors ?
Nice job
Thank you! Cheers!
Easy DIY
Infield that’s what it’s called I always wondered when watching football games on field with artificial turf when they toe drag or tackle when you see that Black Sandy dirt fly up now I know good vid
Infill or infield
Love the neighbor dog. Love the Selena song
Ty
Thanks!
TY Raul
Nice. 👍

Looks great! How long will it last?
20 years
they have a seam joining glue tape in nz. the pin idea looks good though 😊
canada too, seam tape with glue works very well
I got a estimate for this is my small back yard that it was crazy expensive. It's stupid crazy that the things that save the planet and it resources are the most expensive to implement. I just moved from Calif to Texas and it seems that all services are more expensive here.
5:43 I swear for a sec I thought u had stuck the dog with the pin..lol he whined right as soon as u did that ..lol
Good video
Thanks for the visit
Do you know or recommend any company in Massachusetts/ Rhode Island area to do exactly what you did in this video?? Another great video keep it up
No, sorry
dog full of energy
yes
0:45 Something about watching him scoot across the yard is so stupidly funny to me.
Yes
Nice

What manufacturer do you use for the synthetic turf?
stapling or nailing, which is better. what is your thoughts?
Great job! Too bad you guys aren’t in Florida.
Maybe one day!
I need this and I’m in the OC !
Right GL
250 square feet what do you charge?
Great video! What brand turf do you recommend?
Home Depot
I’m not sure if anybody could help me but I am trying to install synthetic grass on the sidewalk side by the street I have an area 41 feet by about 4 feet I dug out about 8 inches because I needed the dirt for a big flower box I am trying to get a definitive answer as far as the fill I should use someone told me something called RCA ? I live in ny
I have a gopher problem, what do you recommend I have the contractor add to the installation of my artificial turf?
My backyard is about that size what's the cost for that if you don't mind me asking
Great job! Btw, a bit surprised that south of California has water shortages issue. Where does California get its water from? Groundwater?
Yes
Socal is drying up. Prolonged Record drought. We are being restricted on water usage.
CA gets it water from the Colorado river system. Trouble is for decades they have been trying to be a lush green oasis, when in fact much of the state is a desert like Arizona. The drought means they can’t get as much water from the river system and have to conserve usage. Removing lawns is a good thing.
No drainage? I always install a 4” hdpe perforated perimeter drain. I’ll put an 140N geo- textile non-woven fabric in the trenches and across the area in between. Install a 1”x12” flat pipe to move the water to the 4” hdpe. Back fill everything with 3/4 clean stone and use 3/8 stone or finishing stone to fill in the gaps in the 3/4 clean. I’ll leave an 1.5” of reveal for turf thickness.
I also always recommend a 6”x12” concrete curb with a 2” concrete notch in the curb(4” of curb exposed). It keeps the sand in from heavy rains and everything drains fast.
Good idea if you don't have natural slope to the street
Looks awesome. How much does a project like this cost?
2500
2500 seems really cheap. I've put in turf that's less than 1000sq feet, and It's usually over 2k just for the turf, infill, base , nails etc, are more
@@OdellCompleteConcreteholy crap can you my yard in Chicago!?
@@OdellCompleteConcrete wow, my neighbor paid $8K for 50'x 25' for pet turf in backyard, professional install. DFW area.
I was always told to not use that weed blocker as the pet urine will just sit in the weed blocker & cause it to stink & to not filter properly.
How do I calculate how much base gravel I need if I know my square footage and inches I want in depth.
Great video and information…. How much did it cost?
1400
@@OdellCompleteConcrete in another comment you said this job was $2500…?
👍
That is some beautiful turf. Can I purchase that from your company?
Hello, I'm an Amazon seller, sorry to bother you. Do you need free turf? We're doing a review recently.
How long does it last?
You feel like the staples vs Seam sealer and tape is beneficial?
Tape breaks
I heard there was a shortage on artificial dogs for the artificial lawn. Since it is an artificial lawn, can you pay with artificial money? A friend wants to know.
Yes. You can pay me 100 Bitcoin and I will install artificial lawn for you. I'll even buy my own plane ticket to wherever you live.
How well does this hold up with large breed dogs running and playing on it as well as peeing and pooping? Obviously the poop would be picked up but still. Is there a remaining odor? Does it get moldy underneath
Yes there is
How long did this take from start to finish?
Where did you purchase the turf, what quality is it, how long can you expect it to look nice?
Check description
Any experience using turf seam tape systems?
Yes and I found it doesn't work
What’s your formula for base materials?
Poor dog behind the fence thinking "so the grass IS greener on the other side"
I may have missed it, but looked several times...what size nails are used to secure the turf to the ground?
6"
Not a fan of artificial grass but that's a first class install 👏
How much does a project like this cost ? and how many days does it take ?
I need that for my back yard. Mine looks like crap.
Good idea
I need this now!! How much and how long does it last? Can I do it myself? Where can you buy the material?
2500
20 years
@@OdellCompleteConcrete $2500 is a good price.
@@OdellCompleteConcrete is that 2500 installation included?
I’m curious what the rate is per foot installed in So Cal?
I’m in Utah so I’m not shopping turf prices in California
$10/sqft is average
What fabric did you put down
How much does it cost roughly for a yard like that?
