Last minute itch to try Clear Lake ended up going caught a 4lber off the thules at Rattlesnake, and a 12LB cat off chatter donk. Never try sleeping in the truck at RedBud 😂
What kind of bait balls are you seeing on your electronics what’s the bird activity like on the lake? Do you use same to indicate what kind of bite to expect? For example, would you like to see more pelicans at the lake?
@@aProudOG I’m seeing very little in regard to bait balls at any depth. I know there are still hitch/black fish in shallow areas around the lake but out away from shore not much. The number of birds that feed on bait is way down as well.
Unlike the reservoirs in the foothills the spawn typically is going from early April through June here. I’ve caught fish on beds here in July and August too, don’t know why, they were late or maybe a second round.
Just wanted to ask and see if any of you clear lake peeps know of a mechanic out on the lake that would know how to Time , Sync & Link a older outboard motor ?
Like you, I fished a full day on Tuesday. Started at 6 quit at 2:30. Had 3 bass and 2 cats. Told my Wednesday client I wasn’t expecting much, offered him the chance to cancel, somehow we got him a limit…felt like Superman! I just don’t get it, beyond confused.

Still bedfish in midjune? Never heard of that

Back in the early 90s there was still fish on the bed in July and plenty of them

Honestly, I keep trying to talk my clients out of fishing. So I don’t think so.
We were out there Monday and Tuesday. Only 6 bass, 12 cats.
I believe it.
