Udupi style sambar - Really it is not as tasty as old Mysore region sambar. Not only sambar, many items of Mysore region is having better taste and preparation methods. Example - Uppittu, Kesari, idli and all rice preparations are better than their Udupi counterparts.
Not really. It always depends on the person doing it and the person relishing it. It is very subjective. Please do not make negative comments. Malnad, Mangalore or Mysore have their own taste and should be appreciated. If someone doesn’t like, does not mean it is not good. Hope it is clear.
@@KannadaveeNithya Mysoreans are not so commercial and generally not hoteliers. Udupi style popular style. Mysore style is more domestic oriented. May be you have not tasted pure Mysore style foods. Example - Udupi hotel so called saagu is only suitable for poori and other combinations do not taste good. And many Udupi vegetable curries totally dry with minimal oil.
@@aaf1967 Udupi style is usually less spicy so needs less oil (or vice versa). I agree Mysuru saarina puDi is heavenly which I follow, but not many hotels are run by Mysureans. Both are our Karnataka's pride. But I must say Udupi hotels maintain cleanliness in their hotels to the T and the food prepared by them is very easy on our stomachs. We don't get acidity or other gastric related problems by eating in their hotels for a long period of time.
