MMC all the way here. I also think the head sculpt of the Ocular Max one looks way better. If Springer was a favorite character of mine I would go with the Ocular Max one.
Springer is one of my favorite characters, along with Soundwave, Starscream and Cliffjumper and I ended up getting Apache instead. I think Saltus looks way better in robot mode but, I prefer Apache when it comes to the alt modes. Well, the car mode looks good but, I hate the helicopter mode as the trail portion looks terrible, at least to me. Will probably end up buying Saltus as I absolutely love the robot mode.
I think the colors and the front chest vent on the MMC version ruin it for me, the FT version just looks so much more sophisticated from a design/aesthetics perspective.
The one thing I think FT does do better, imo, is the Chest. If MMC had that Chest, it would Hit their Bot Mode Out of the Park. Saltus has a really nice Helicopter mode, their weak spot is the car, no doubt, however, it looks better that the FT if not toon accurate which FTs looks awful b/c of it. Is FTs Apache worth $70 more? Not in my humble opinion. DO like their Chest & being nit picky, Saltus elbow joints should have been green not black. Great Review - It's good to see someone give a fair review & remain unbiased while still pointing out the flaws of both.
I just pulled the trigger on getting the apache to display in robot mode and while the figure is very cool (and big!) in person, both ankles pivot far too easily like you commented so the figure will either sort of lean forward on its toes or has to placed against a stand of some kind. It's the 2021 reissue but sadly it wasn't fixed. Did you manage to tighten the joints for the ankles? The feet area contain a lot of screws but none seem to influence pivot, just tilt. Would appreciate any tips!
Great VS. 🌟😎... love the MMC Ocular Max Saltus very enjoyable to play with and looks Cool. Wow What a Blow out. I do like the Grill better on FT but that's about it.

I had the original OX Springer and FT Apache they are both great in their own way, I had to sell OX Springer however I’m really tempted to get this repaint version as I really enjoyed the playability of the figure
Saltus slightly edged out Apache when I was shopping for a Springer; however, if Saltus had Apache's torso proportions (leaner toward the waist), it would have been a no-brainer for me. As it stands, I see the current prices on Apache, and I AM tempted. I have to constantly remind myself that I don't need two Springers.

Youre generally right about mmc dominating this tm but i think ft takes sculpt and toon accuracy. Those grills on ft springers chest, silhouette and face sculpt look way way better. Still it was an enjoyable watch. Thanks for putting up videos like these.
The grill is literally the only thing that's more accurate on FT, and it's only accurate in the sense that it has real depth rather than having fake depth represented by black paint.

Wow very 😮 surprised u gave mmc alot of points in categories that I would've given to Fanstoys, imo mmc articulation is INCREDIBLE, but I don't like the alt modes @all for mmc, the car looks like a brick on wheels almost looking like the batmobile(batmobile looks way better), and that 🚁 mode I don't like how it looks either 🤷♂️, they're both Great options so u win either way everybody says that Fanstoys Springer is a pain 2 transform but I use a Japanese channel on TH-cam that I follow and he's really quite easy 2 transform well 4 me anyways, thanks Sony for AWESOME 📹👏👏😃👍

I personally like Apache's proportions way better in bot mode, and just his overall look better. That trumps other things. I also have never had an issue with Apache's transformation.

Great comparison. MMC makes great figures. I personally prefer the FT. I think MMC took a LOT of liberties on both alt modes. It was probably much more difficult to stay so close to the source material. I prefer FT for all 3 modes. Both great figures. Keep up the great content.
For me Springer Is all about how his chest looks. I really like how FT Apache chest goes in slightly with the exhaust bars. MMC is just flat. I don’t like the flatness of MMC exhaust chest. So, I bought Apache.
The Apache reissue is the most recent figure I got. I absolutely hated the Transformation. I’ve sort of had a foot out the door for months concerning my collection and that figure really made me seriously ask myself what I do this for. And this is after already getting completely out of the game once before. I swear I wish I understood what my own deal is, I’ve never had such complicated feelings about my other collections.
Let me add my voice to TMReviews here...Saltus is everything good about transformer, MP, and 3rd party collecting. I have them both, just got the Apache reissue and Saltus is everything that got me into MP collecting and Apache is everything that had me considering wrapping it up and doing something else with my money. And I like Apache. But Saltus is hands down a better figure and toy based on my priorities. I even think it looks better in my S3 display.
A little late but, I actually went with the X-transbots version and I think it's fantastic, especially after I got the shoulder replacements in. It's toon accurate, has a nice build and is fairly easy to transform. It's a bit pricy but, I got it on sale for $150. I hate transforming my Fans Toys Apache so much so that I usually just keep it in robot mode.
Dude, i am all for good reviews. But, when you say at the beginning that you want to be objective, yet, your benchmarking has scores for personal preference over cartoon accuracy, it would do your channel good to just get over the "being objective "statement. Just being honest here.

PERFECT results...have both and I grab OM 9 out of 10 times to be Springer. Givin that FTs is more of The Springer, OM is more of A Springer...

Ocular max is still MMC, it’s just a subline name. Kinda like how Hasbro has generations and then cyberverse.
I asked Paik and he said it's not a subline, it's an actual company. He works for them so I believe it. He said it's the same as KFC and X-Transbots
