Someone noticed a book about Adolf Hitler in my friend's bookshelf and made the assumption that perhaps he was a nazi. (I totally understand that this book may raise some question if you see it) So let me clarify: My friend is a historian, that's why he has that book. We need to understand and learn about the past, so we can try to avoid past mistakes. He is most definitely not a nazi. To put the record straight, I am not a nazi either. My values could not be further removed from that horrible ideology. I can't believe I'm actually writing this, but there you go. 😅 Peace and love.

It's a shame that we live in a world where people make so many assumptions. I love to read too and I've read books about Hitler, not because I admire him but because of genuine interest in historical figures. I would never assume that someone is a Nazi based on a book that have read or own. It's sad that you had to even make this comment. I didn't pay that much attention to the bookshelf as I was admiring the scenery and also found your vlog really interesting as Norway is on my list of countries to visit.
I am enchanted by the extraordinary way you capture your sensitivity in a frame. You notice details invisible to others. You are my discovery today. I hurry to catch up and watch your other films. Where have you been all my life?
Hi! This is a very very beautiful video! Bergen is an lovely town with lots os cute houses. The chirch is a wonder, indeed. It was very sad that they burned it down. I went to read the history of the building out of curiosity. Thank you very much for showing your hometown. It's absolutely wonderful! In 2023 I went to Iceland and was able to observe the Northern Lights. It was an amazing experience. I send greetings to Miss Mochi and Mr. J. Have a great weekend!
How wonderful that you had the chance to go to Iceland. I haven't been, would love to go one day! Yes, the story of the church is sad- but I'm happy at least they rebuilt it using the same techniques as the old one.
Really wonderful cinematography, as usual. Especially the opening sequence. It brings to mind a beautiful quote you might enjoy, from the end of the long poem Four Quartets by T.S. Eliot: ‘We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time’.
I used to watch your videos on my phone but this time I watched it on TV and it was a wonderful experience to see all the beautiful landscapes from Bergen. Every time when I see that you were in Bergen I got excited about your content because your hometown is so unique and beautiful. One day I want to visit Bergen and see those gorgeous wooden buildings. Thanks for sharing all those beautiful moments with us. Love from Istanbul ❤

Bergen is indeed a wonderful city. I think you would stop all the time to take photos if you were there. So many nice details! One of the reasons I like to wake up early and go for these walks is that sometimes I feel embarrassed when there are lots of people around, and I keep stopping to take photos 😂 Wish you a great weekend- And looking forward to your next video! The neighbourhood you took us through in Bergen is so cool. What an amazing vibe. I absolutely LOVE the different colours of the houses. So lovely, what a great city. Thanks for the tour! 😀 So cute seeing Mochi giving you a warm welcome home. ❤️
Glad you enjoyed it! I love those colorful houses too. It would be so boring if they were all grey! And Mochi's greetings warms my heart every time. Happy to share that moment with you 💓😄
This is an absolutely amazing video! Bergen is simply great, what a beautiful colorful place, the ride was really awesome even if the pretty Mochi wasn't there. Thank you also for sharing the Northern Lights. Once again, you offer us a bubble full of necessary wonders, many thanks for that! 🖤 🖤
I believe I heard a local weather forecaster saying this Fall the Northern Lights can be more clearly seen in lower latitudes than in previous years. Why.....I do not know, though. I've been told it is quite a moving experience to witness this phenomenon in person.
What a beautiful video..Bergen is great..all the colored houses, the church..and that forest..oh My...and you got us astonished with the northern lights..Mochi? What a happy princess when she sees you. Thank you for this videos
Can never get over how stunning Norway is. Is it a safe country? The scenery and the architecture is incredible. It would be like living in art museums. How beautiful was Mochi when you arrived home. I loved how she ran and got her toy to give to you, like a welcome home present. She’s such a little cutie. 🥰
The best part of going away is to come home to my little princess! Her enthusiasm is so moving ❤️🐶 I would say Norway is very safe. Obviously bad stuff can happen here too, but over all I would say it's a pretty safe place to live.

Norway up until very recently was the number 1 in HDI (Human Development), has been the number 1 democracy in the world for more or less the entire 2000s, and in normal years have around 29-33 murders a year (on a population of 5.56 million). So yeah, if we're talking comparisons here, Norway is extremely safe. Even then, it doesn't mean that absolutely nothing bad can happen, but it's rare. There are a few professional criminals, and a few violent people, especially in the capital Oslo though, and partially due to imm i 6ration, violence, crime and things like robberies are seeing an increase. As is the case for nearly all western countries, so we're not alone.
Well... I saw your video three times, one was not enough to absorb all the magic Bergen - and you of course, your lense, your artistic intuition - wrappes. Especially Nordens (smiling, can't stop smiling). It's so true what you say about places you know and the rush of life makes you forget the beauty of it. I lived a few years in Coimbra ( north center Portugal) but every time I return there I find myself amazed with things and spots that I' ve already knew. I hope you can give us more footage from Bergen, it will be a plus if accompanied by dear Princess Mochi and Mr.J!! When that fat cat appeared meowing, Guga and Pepa jump off my lap searching for the intruder, "who's there? show yourself !". Well, I told you I saw your video 3 times and 3 times Mochi put a smile on my face, welcoming you with love, affection and the toy but I felt she also welcomed me as Alberto always joyfully celebrates my return. Love from the Portuguese gang.
What an honor that you watched the video 3 times! That made me smile. 💓😄 Also the fact that Guga and Pepa reacted to the Bergen cat meowing! (Mochi looked around the room and then at me, as if asking "what is going on here?!!" I hope to one day bring Mochi to Bergen by train. That will be a fun adventure! Mr J who is from Oslo loves to mock Bergen saying it is a provincial village! But I know he likes it deep down..😂 Oh and I saw a clip of Coimbra. How very beautiful! When a city is partly built on a hill + has a river, that is so wonderful. You were lucky to live there.
Your video popped out on my YT while I was making some lunch and I couldn't stop looking at the screen. It was so enjoyable to watch this beautiful city with just the ambience sounds. Thank you 🙂
Another enchanting film, what a beautiful picturesque City Bergen is, the cobblestone streets the houses and gardens the mountains in the distance.. You are a very gifted filmmaker and photographer. I love photography and to take pictures that are pleasant to the eyes and senses. I understand how you feel about visiting your original home town it is a bittersweet experience 😌 Mochi is adorable as always ❤so happy to see you ☺️ Thanks so much for sharing this lovely and significant moments with us. Blessings and Wellbeing Always to the 3 of you 🙂☘️❤
Thank you for taking us with you to Bergen again - what a glorious city!! But, I was happy when Mochi turned up. Although all your videos are magic, my favorite part is Mochi.
Thank you for the walking tour of Bergen, Mr. I. you have such a good eye for composition, these are a joy to watch. Of all the beautiful images, the moccamaster coffeemaker cuaght my eye the most....as I sipped my coffee from the same model! It's funny how the brain locks onto things you recognize.
Che meraviglia, un altro sabato con queste belle immagini di Bergen. Case colorate, tavolini e sedie in prossimità dell'ingresso delle abitazioni. Grazie, alla prossima settimana 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Getting familiar with Bergen through your lense...the pretty colourful houses ,cobbled pathways ..the Cafe is pretty ...your friend's lovely library in an apartment grabbed attention...that telephone was indeed nostalgic! And at the end Mochi's true happiness on seeing you waging her tail..no no we don't want Mochi to go through any kind of trauma...and that Northern light o wow! It has been a dream to see Northern lights once in a lifetime. Enjoyed the video as always!
Happy you enjoyed the Bergen tour! (And Mochi welcoming me home in the end) Hope you get to see the northern lights one day. I have only seen it on TV and pictures, and now Mr. J's video. I haven't seen it in real life either! Hope to see it one day 😄
So happy to stumble upon your vlog , else I would have missed so much ! The houses, they all belong to some real magical land ...all so serene, beautiful beyond words & just so warm despite the cool all around ! Made a million wishes in my heart to please let me visit this wonderland someday ! Hope it comes true! 😍♥
What an enjoyable video! Perfect to watch while I sip my first, early morning coffee. The city is lovely, the cobblestones make me want to walk on them, the houses, flowers, cafe culture, all just lovely. Thank you for showing us your beautiful city.
I didn't want the video to end. I was imagining I was there knitting in front of a fire in one of those sweet houses and eating a sweet pastry. The church was just magnificent. Thank you for a beautiful video and much love to Mochi 😊 P.s. Excellent travel guide 😉😉😉
I can never compete with Princess Mochi's cutness or guiding skills, so I am honored that you enjoyed the tour, and could picture yourself in one of the houses knitting in front of a fire. (What a nice image!) Mochi says hello (Right now tired from our Saturday walk) ❤️🐶💫
I loved today's guided tour, it was like I had been there. Bergen is a lovely place. I really liked the details: the knockers and decorative elements of the houses, the mailboxes, the drinking fountains, the beautiful corners... I really like to observe curious or beautiful details. There is so much rain and humidity, it must be hard to keep wooden houses in perfect condition. Of course I will go to see the interior of the oldest house (you read my thought). I was laughed at your historian friend's comment about the cake you chose. Mr. Historian, grandmothers are wise so it was a good choice 😂. The end of the video was spectacular between Mochi's reception and Mr J's reception with the magnificent Northern Lights. Thanks to all three of you for today's 🥰 video
Love that you appreciate the details in a city. We are similar like that. There is always so many exciting details for the eyes to enjoy when going some place different. And you are right about the wooden houses and humidity and rain. The wood on the exterior very slowly rots, and has to be replaced from time to time. Ps! Agree with your granny comment. They are wise, so I totally own that I am like a granny 😂
I visited Bergen about 12 years ago. Back then and now, after watching this video clip, I felt so much at peace with myself and the world. Your city is a beautiful place!
I love when you take us on your trips. Your hometown is beautiful! It's like a fairy tale. I especially loved the trees & the church. I've not seen anything like that. The northern lights are just beautiful too. As always the best part of a trip is coming home to those you love. Sending hugs from a very hot & dry central Indiana.
@@micheleflanagan5052 Definitely more rain than snow. On the rare occasion there is heavy snowfall, it usually rains away within a few days. Bergen is a coastal city, so it is relatively mild compared to Oslo. 😄
@@introvert-and-dog Oh wow thank you for telling me this. I thought Oslo was a coastal city too? I’m from the Midwest part of the United States so we get everything here.
Dear Nino, Bergen is magic!!! I, being an old lady then, can enjoy that wonderful pastry 😂 without any problems! How sweet that Mochi is, who when you arrive brings you the little present... beautiful creature 🩷 A big hug from Berlin

Hello. I've been discovering your videos for a few days, and I'm really enjoying watching them. They make me feel good. I don't know anything about Norway (sorry), except the writer Karl Ove Knausgaard whose books I have read (and who I think is also a native of Bergen) and whom I like very much. In any case, from now on, I will watch your videos.., beautiful, peacefull and melancholic.. and it suits me very well. From Paris.
Everywhere you look, there is history. It is magical and very unique. I love the stills you take and incorporate in your videos! Well I guess it s not just Oslo I will plan to visit 😂 I am really in awe of the beauty of your cities and how you kept nature very close despite the developments! You have changed my mind about the north it is definetely interesting to see. Thank you so much to open up our minds. Thank you. The northern lights must be such a beautiful experience.
Don't tell any Oslo natives (because they will disagree 😂) but Bergen has a lot more charm and history, and is definitely more picturesque. So I highly recommend Bergen if you make it to Norway! 😋 And you're right, nature is never far away in any city up here. It is of course due to the geography, but also: In the whole of Norway there are only about 5.5 million people, so I guess there is a limit to how big our cities can be before nature takes over 😄
Such a lovely walking tour in Bergen, and I see Mr. Historian is a book lover as I am. I consider books to be friends who are always available to share their knowledge and wisdom with me. Rombolle being labeled as an old lady pastry choice made me giggle, but....enjoy whatever makes you happy. Besides, old school sweet baked goods are often the best since they came from the creative use of limited, local ingredients, then eaten during religious and other feast days.
Happy you enjoyed the walk in Bergen! And I totally agree with your view on books and old school baked goods. By the way, to me, granny vibes is a true honor! ❤️
Bergen was magical when I visited! Loved it! The Norway in A Nut Shell trip from Bergen back to Oslo was the most beautiful scenery I have seen! Don’t go to Bergen without taking the train back to Olso! Or train, and boat as in my case.
I visited it for 4 days & only got light rain for 1 day! The rest is sunny, sometimes foggy, but absolutely dreamy. One of the most beautiful place I've ever been
I enjoyed your video, thanks for sharing! I love the cute-colored houses, so much character, also loved the shots of the leaves and the cobbled streets! 💕

We had a great trip to Oslo and Bergen a few years ago, the train journey is the best I have ever taken, a long trip for a little dog though. It was nice to recognise some of the streets and buildings. We had a fantastic day trip to Barony Rosendal Manor House by ferry from Bergen, a very special day out. The Kode was also another Bergen highlight, the collection of Munch paintings are really worth the visit. We were back in Norway this year, Stavanger, Trondheim and Oslo, it's a great country to visit. Thanks for all the work you do on your videos, it's a nice style to sit down and take a bit of time out to.

Mr. Historian's place looks so calm and cosy!😍 Mochi missed the cat! Walking through Nordnes, I felt like I was there with you! 🥰 And Mr. Historian is right - you do give the old lady vibes. 😄💖 Mochi scared-surprised me! 😂 And the moment she saw you, she's like, "Time to play!"😄
Haha, Mochi looooves to play. It's funny that seconds after she said welcome home, she rushed off to get the toy 😂 And I totally own the old lady vibes! Grannies are wise! ❤️

@@introvert-and-dog it' s really beautiful to see your friendship with this cute dog.
@@claricevercelhese95 Mochi is a great friend! ❤🐶
Her enthusiasm is so moving ❤️🐶
I would say Norway is very safe.
Love the colours❤❤❤❤
What a beautiful place ,this was like walking through a fairytale landscape. Thank you so much.
My pleasure 😊
(Mochi looked around the room and then at me, as if asking "what is going on here?!!"
I hope to one day bring Mochi to Bergen by train. That will be a fun adventure! Mr J who is from Oslo loves to mock Bergen saying it is a provincial village! But I know he likes it deep down..😂
Oh and I saw a clip of Coimbra. How very beautiful! When a city is partly built on a hill + has a river, that is so wonderful. You were lucky to live there.
Great video -- so relaxing and peaceful. It looks like a fairytale 😊
Happy you enjoyed it😀
Beautiful sharing. Looks like in heaven. Wonderful place 😍✍️
Thank you ❤️
Dziękuję że mogłam przeczytać dzięki tłumaczowi. Bergen jest przepiękne. pozdrawiam.❤.

Another enchanting film, what a beautiful picturesque City Bergen is, the cobblestone streets the houses and gardens the mountains in the distance.. You are a very gifted filmmaker and photographer. I love photography and to take pictures that are pleasant to the eyes and senses.

Thank you for taking us with you to Bergen again - what a glorious city!! But, I was happy when Mochi turned up. Although all your videos are magic, my favorite part is Mochi.
The best part of traveling for me, is to come home to that enthusiastic greeting from Mochi ❤️
Thanks for your kind comment, and how funny that you have the same Moccamaster model!

Happy you enjoyed seeing Bergen! See you next week ❤️🐶
(And Mochi welcoming me home in the end)
Hope you get to see the northern lights one day. I have only seen it on TV and pictures, and now Mr. J's video. I haven't seen it in real life either! Hope to see it one day 😄
Beautiful videography; beautiful city. Thanks

Hi! Glad you enjoy my channel! I hope you can visit Norway one day 😀👍
The Turkish saying is wonderful. Thank you for sharing it with me! 😄
What an enjoyable video! Perfect to watch while I sip my first, early morning coffee. The city is lovely, the cobblestones make me want to walk on them, the houses, flowers, cafe culture, all just lovely. Thank you for showing us your beautiful city.
Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for your kind comment which motivates me to keep creating! Love from Norway 💓😄
Some of my ancestors came from here, quite long ago. Thank you.
It's so beautiful and amazing, thank you)
You have an exquisite hometown indeed!
Stunning and stylish thank you! 😍
Glad you like it! ❤️
I didn't want the video to end.
I was imagining I was there knitting in front of a fire in one of those sweet houses and eating a sweet pastry. The church was just magnificent.
Thank you for a beautiful video and much love to Mochi 😊
P.s. Excellent travel guide 😉😉😉
I can never compete with Princess Mochi's cutness or guiding skills, so I am honored that you enjoyed the tour, and could picture yourself in one of the houses knitting in front of a fire. (What a nice image!)
Mochi says hello (Right now tired from our Saturday walk) ❤️🐶💫

Happy to hear you found peace in Bergen! 😄
Очень красивый городок, горы, деревянные дома это то что я люблю❤❤❤🕊️

Love the clapboard houses & the tranquility. Thanks guys. Aussie Bob ❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it, Aussie Bob! ❤️🐶
Greetings from Oslo to Indiana ❤️Absolutely, it's always nice to come home after a trip! (Especially when greeted enthusiastically by a dog)
@@introvert-and-dog I meant to ask you if Bergen gets more rain or snow in the winter? Just wondering thanks 😊
@@micheleflanagan5052 Yes, Oslo is a coastal city, but it's more sheltered if you look at the map. Bergen faces the North sea/ Atlantic directly 😄
Beautiful. Thank you. I particularly enjoying the bakery treats, the black church and Mochi's greeting.
Happy to hear you enjoyed all those things. Personally, I never get tired of Mochi's warm greeting 💓😄
Просто замечательно! Большое спасибо!
Thank you! 😄
Thank you for sharing this lovely town. I spent a couple of days there and regretted not having scheduled more time.
Glad you enjoyed Bergen! ❤️
Dear Nino, Bergen is magic!!!
I, being an old lady then, can enjoy that wonderful pastry 😂 without any problems!
How sweet that Mochi is, who when you arrive brings you the little present... beautiful creature 🩷
A big hug from Berlin
I think be both can be old grannies and enjoy the pastry together! 😂 Grannies are smart and have a lot of life experience, so that is a compliment!
Big hugs from Oslo which today is very gray. ❤️🐶💫
@@introvert-and-dog So you mean you and I as "Golden Girls" enjoying life with cake and stuff? I'm in!!!
@@CookWalkSweet Yes, exactly like The Golden girls! 😂❤
And you're right, nature is never far away in any city up here.
Wonderful video of the city - so clean and pristine!!! Love how happy your doggie was to see you upon your return:)
The best part of a trip for me is coming home to Mochi! 😂
Bergen was magical when I visited! Loved it! The Norway in A Nut Shell trip from Bergen back to Oslo was the most beautiful scenery I have seen! Don’t go to Bergen without taking the train back to Olso! Or train, and boat as in my case.
Happy to hear you enjoyed Bergen! And that train ride from Bergen to Oslo is amazing😀
THANK YOU, a beautiful city, full of colors and flowers, you can tell it is well cared for, happy autumn...
Happy autumn to you too ❤️
So pretty. Norway and other Scandinavia countries always have such amazing architecture. Love all the bright colors.

The city of rain 🙂One of the most beautiful places in Europe, a really special one. I visited it 13 years ago and have nice memories.

Happy to hear you took the train from Oslo to Bergen. It is truly wonderful! I haven't been to Rosendal Manor, but of course seen pictures. Would like to go one day. Glad to hear you enjoy traveling to Norway, and that you enjoy my videos!
