Just bought this, though it wasn’t this cheap, still it’s less than many and matches my white setup. Great to see the detailed installation, it’s been a while since I’ve done this.

I have 2 Thermalright Peerless Assasin taming a 5900x and a 3950x running 100% load since the cold weather and they are doing a great job. Those were the first Thermalright cooler I ever used and surely not the last. I still have a white Vetroo V5, 2 Snowman black MT-6 and a CoolerMaster evo 212 on my shelves waiting to be installed on low to moderate end systems.
Totally forgotten about this one ! Must have been my evil twin Drunken Bob lol. Great video, there is still a place in the market for budget kewlers for mid to high end CPUs. Cant belive I sent in something with RGB on it......Im going to limit how much Drunken Bob can order !!!

The click trick is very important when screwing screws, especially when screwing in plastic. This prevent creating threads into thread and end up with no more thread to screw into...😁
I just bought one of these. I got the black non rgb version because the case it is in doesn’t have a transparent side panel but everything else about the cooler and included hardware was identical to what was pictured here. I got it because i was using the stock cooler on an old i7-3770 and was hitting 90c under load with the annoyingly loud fan maxed out. I needed something that fit the older intel lga1155 socket so went with this not expecting much for $20. First thing surprised me was the density of the fin stack…. Its much heavier than what I was expecting from such a budget price. Installed pretty straightforward no problem. Actually shocked by how well it works. Temps dropped from 90c to 51c and can’t hear it over my two case fans. Very, very satisfied.
My backplate is glued to my board. This cooler saved my 5600x, was running in mid 80s with wraith tower., couldn't imagine wraith stealth, prob close to 100s.
For the price it looks an excellent purchase. I do wish manufacturers would put parts in resealable bags though so if swapping around between cpu formats they can be stored without getting lost.
Just bought this for my new Ryzen 7 5800X3D. Hope it will be enough to cool it in a good ventilated case while having long gaming sessions. The paste it comes with (TF-4) is also very good.
Just ordered a new PC built and added the option to include this CPU fan, its not something I thought about, I mostly concern about the GPU more. But I thought just 20 dollars (USD) and seems like a good bargin. then i went on youtube and found that the fan will do significantly better than the stock fan and I am happy I chose the upgrade.

But if you don't mind the temps peaking now and then this cooler will do the job most of the time
A bit late to the review but does it require software to change the colour of the RGB light as my sons seems to go off after a short time of the PC being on? The fan itself is working great though
if you plug it into a motherboard or case header it won't necessarily need software, but you can use the software that your motherboard has to control the RGB

I own 5 Noctuas two being D15 and even with non low profile ram the 140mm fan fits perfectly. Just did it again today when I swapped a B450 for a X570 board.

yes that is the idea

Is the Revised version any different than the standard version? Also, which is better and quieter between Deepcool AK400 and this one?
can't see any real difference to be honest, most likely the mounting hardware, and seems to be on par or close to the ak400
What's the difference from this to the Peerless Assassin?
Also, would this one be okay for a 7800X3D?
7800x3d really needs water cooling to keep it under control, unless heavily undervolted or in eco mode
Good video, I would just like to know if these are indeed 12mm m3 screws to attach the backplate to the motherboard
it does seem to be
Only 2 screws keeping it down? Can't say I've seen that before
