    Let's also remember that this management has managed to sell only 3 players: Tonali, Simic and Krunic (for whom we had an offer of 8-10 mil and sold for 3.5 4 months later..). Saelemakers, Pobega, Adli, Kalulu and Colombo were all sent on loans mostly to direct competitors, D.Maldini was gifted away. We haven't gotten a fee for CDK yet either and that's also limiting our market..

    I´ve said it from the beginning and I´ll say it again: The problem for Leao playing "Fonseca football" is that Leao is a counter attack player with the quality and technique to drive. This is his biggest quality that he relies on. To be able to do that he need the space on the flank and the opportunity to choose to break into the center, or do overlaps with Theo. You see Rafa doing that continuously in the national team and they make sure he has the freedom to do it. When you have a player with such pace, speed and ball-drive, you can´t put him in a system that is built on progressive build up because you lose too much of that key players quality.

      @@MrDflego Theo, Maignan and especially Leão were the heart of this squad, our superstars and all our successes in recent years rely on them. As soon as the American owners came, they started to destroy the championship team and the Italian identity of ACM. They don't want to and they don't understand the essence or the history of this club, just like they don't understand this sport. American fans didn't help either, except for buying shirts. They are only interested in Pulišić and their love for this club will last as long as he is in it. Fonseca is a mediocre coach and only mediocre results can be expected from him. Rafa is a truly special player whose style requires freedom in the game. By taking away his freedom, his game itself is taken away, and this is becoming more and more visible. In AC Milan everything is wrong (ownership structure, policy and vision of the club, management, scouting system, youth sector, coach and his tactics, fitness trainers and nutritionists, fans...) and that will not change overnight.

      Interesting that last year ACM started so much better, and we thought it was the coach. Agree about Sammy; he has figured out when & what to do. He dribbles now with his head up & passes much better than last year. He takes his shots at better times too. He has matured like a fine wine.

  • @markpardel8747

    Am I the only one then that thinks Musah had actually a bad game ? The first goal is at least 50% if not more his fault. How can he leave Anguissa in acres of space in the middle to then pick out his pass ? That's his job and he failed it. Lot of loose touches, one in our own box that nearly finished in another goal for Napoli. Then a bad touch on interception in their box when it should have been a great chance to score. I could add more so I really don't understand all this praise for Musah as I thought he was easily in the top 3 worst players in that game.

    • @rolandovivar6864
      @rolandovivar6864 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Musah, agree, he must work to be more consistent in all aspects of the game. He is fast, but I have seen him dribble into trouble. Most difficult of skills is to dribble with your head up & ball at your feet. His defense can be better, but with more experience, because he is young, he will improve. Sammy has matured so that he has better game awareness, ergo, passing & knowing when to shoot.

      Americans can't defend. It is a proven fact. They work hard but the position sense or sense of calamity is not there. If you let them defend too long they are bound to slow down at a dangerous point. RLC is similar as well as Reijnders sometimes. This allows the defense to make mistakes.

    Leao could/should have been a starter this game but even the commentators were pointing out how he wasn't running late in the match when down 2-0. He (lately) hasn't shown the skill to make up for the lack of work rate that Milan needs when the overall team is struggling. Put in the work and the results go your way, not walking around and trying for one dribble every 5-10 minutes

  • @nandhyhasley1745

    It's always great to hear from you. Keep up the excellent work!
    I believe we're struggling with the 4-2-3-1 formation mainly because we lack a true CAM. While Pulisic can fill that role, using him there would likely push Chukwueze into the starting lineup, a spot he fully deserves at this point. But if we do sub him out, who else can come on and bring the same level of threat or energy? Currently, there's no clear option. This is something the management needs to address. As for Leão, I think he needs a more defined role within the team. We’ve seen how he steps up when given the captain's armband, he plays with a renewed intensity. To make him feel truly at home, we should consider giving him more responsibilities, like taking free kicks. With his impressive long-range accuracy, we all know he has the potential to be a real asset in this area. Providing him with a bigger role could be exactly what he needs to unlock his full potential.

      We, as tifosi, should not care in the slightest about how much money is spent on the team. We're the ones financing it trough merchandising, events, stadium tickets, sponsors (they come only because WE take interest in Ac Milan, WE give them visibility beacause WE watch the games). We should all be fuming rn. Conte was BEGGING us to come.
      Also, if you want to think about costs and revenues, with Conte many players would have increased their value. Instead, many players like Rafa, Loftus, Tomori, etc. are now surely worth less than last season, due to poor performances (influenced by the managers decisions and lack of credibility).
      With Conte, we wouldn't sit so low on the table. He's first with a Napoli side that ended 10th in the Serie A last season.
      We also won't get as much revenue because we won't place as high as we would have with Conte as our Coach, both in Champions AND in Serie A. I'm not even considering Coppa Italia, we haven't won that in ages.
      The manager is an investment. You pick a good one(Conte)? It costs more but you most certainly get some revenue. You pick a mediocre one (Fonseca)? Then you must brace yourself and hope for the best.

  • @Christian-rz9it
    @Christian-rz9it 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

    Real Madrid beat prime Barcelona and Prime Bayern playing counter attacking football. Liverpool beat prime Man City playing counter attacking football. Possessional football is wonderful but football is situational. In some situations you play possession, in some situations you counter. Like Martino said we need a 10, not RLC and Rejinders playing in that position. We also have a 10 in Liberali we just don’t have the balls to play him.
    Fonseca is very much to blame and so is the management. Furlani and Moncada have to be fired. There is no reason they should be there. If Maldini and Massara had to go then so should they. Moncada is the primary problem he is a terrible identifier of talent. He had more money and chose worse people and does not have Maldini to step in and find better profiles. Zlatan I will give another year but Conte probably did not come to Milan because of Zlatan. Had Maldini been there I believe he could have handled a personality like Conte just out of his sheer portfolio and what he has brought to football as well as what Maldini means to Milan.
    Fonseca is all about possessional football but we lack diversity in our attacking portfolio. We pass, pass, pass until we get into the final third and then have 6 players in and around the box. Our single biggest problem in the final third is we suck at playing in tight space and opening up a team. We do not have the players to strike fear in a team once we get into the final third. Lastly idk what it is for the life of me but Milan does not have a single player that can play a through ball besides Rafa, Theo and Rejinders. If you play possessional football then you have to have great chemistry and the ability to open up space to play a through ball. It has to be touch, move, dribble and surgical precision. We don’t play that way. We condense our game bring all our players into a compact place in the second third and close all of the passing lanes. We literally are our own worse enemy. Also why the f*** we don’t play balls over the top for Rafa? He is one of the fastest players in Serie A with a great first touch, play the damn ball over his head. They did it once and Di Lorenzo was in no mans land. He had no clue how to even defend the ball over the top especially when he has to play 1v1 with Rafa.
    Final point, All this nonsensical talk from Milan fans about Rafa should be sold needs to be shut down immediately, he is by far our best player. Pulisic is playing well this season and great but his peak is no where near Rafa’s. Rafa has balon d’or level capability. If we sell him who the hell will we buy to replace him? Especially with the management we have and how much they love to spend, especially since we don’t have Maldini to bring a player like him to the club. Stop the crap about he is lazy, he is not lazy. He is an attacking footballer, should he help more in defense absolutely but he is notttt the problem we have. He is a farrrr better player than Kavara and anyone who thinks otherwise hate to break it to you but you really have no clue what you are talking about. If you put Rafa in Juve, Liverpool, Chelsea, Madrid or Bayern. He will have 40 contributions no questions asked. Milan is the problem and right now Fonseca is the problem. If you cannot help him reach a level of more than 20 goal contributions then you are at fault especially when he has done it for 3 seasons with Pioli! The problem is Fonseca’s man management is garbage, his ability to build chemistry is garbage! All the top coaches have one unique ability and they are excellent man managers. There is a reason why Ancelotti has produced 7 balon d’or winners and at least 20 contenders. It is because he doesn’t try to make teams play the way he wants he helps them play the best football that is suitable to the players that the team has. Kush I know you are giving Fonseca a chance but I have seen enough. I will give him 3 games and if he loses anymore then he needs to go. January is right around the corner and to bench Leao against Napoli for me is inexcusable.

He doesn't understand the defensive side of the game. Players don't pull back into assigned areas, they don't keep their space, they aren't facing the right way, they aren't looking for opponent players, they are just hauling ass like a pack of buffaloes. I would say this again but the biggest problem with current squad is the way this squad has been constructed.
    We have 4 proper centre backs and non of them are good on the ball and we probably sold kalulu and simic who probably were the better defenders we had on the ball. All the 4 defenders we have are very similar in terms of profile.
    We also dont have enough quality players for the pivot role. Other than fofana and Bennacer most of our players not meant to play in that pivot . We also to many players who can play as a cam (tijani, loftus cheek, musah ,pulisic and the youngsters like zeroli and liberalli are also cams )
    I would say in my opinion this team would struggle to complete at the higher stages . Yes we may beat the more lower level teams but this is not a team which is going very far in a scudetto or ucl race .
    In my opinion if i were incharge of doing the transfers this what i will do.
    1)sign a regista or a couple of players who can play in the pivot role(my dream signing would be ricci because i feel he would complementary fofana very well )
    2)sell loftus cheek simply because with rise of tijani i simply dont see him playing there (and add the likes pulisic, zeroli and liberalli he would be getting even limited chances)
    3) sell thiaw and sign a proper ball playing centre back .
    I could go on and all but i feel these 3 points are the things are the objectives for balancing out the squad . The squad has been constructed in a unbalanced manner thats why we are seeing this mess.

    Kush, I was with ya until you said it was a comfortable 2-0 win for Napoli. Yes we’re all
    Aware Comte is a low block counter wizard but if we’re being fair on the first goal lukaku lost possession of that ball with a heavy touch, then had to barge into pavlovich before returning to the ball, and it was not shoulder to shoulder in possession that’s the reason pav was so easily knocked off. He had eyes to the 50 50 ball. Secondly. After that Milan absolutely dominated possession and chance creation between okafor, musah and chucky. Can you imagine if pulisic, Theo Leao, and reindeers were in the game from the start. In the reverse fixture I see it flipping score lines completely. Also don’t be so quick
    To turn on fonseca bc of the reason I just stated. I sense a breakout game agasint madrid coming soon if all the 11 is healthy. Cheers.

    In my opinion, Fonseca is talented but he is tough and not flexible in the communication 😢 so he cannot unify the team. But his technical strategy works really well and we all can see that ❤ One more point, the managers did not win players’s hearts and sadly they created different groups of players instead of connecting everyone. The problem is much more about human relations. How to connect old and new players and make them feel this is their home. We all fight to death for our home finally ❤ Paolo Maldini did that and succeed because of his love for Milan. Hope Milan managers realize that and make a change to call him back home. Forza Milan ❤

    I wasn't excited by the Fonseca signing but was willing to give him a chance. I agree with Kush that there is a big issue with the management and transfer targets. Our midfield is more suited to 433 but we keep using coaches that want to play 4231 without supporting them with the right recruitment targets.
    At this point if we sack Fonseca then Sarri is the best replacement available for our squad in experienced coaches. Maybe there is an alternate young coach they can go for instead that will suit their budget.
    I suspect Fonseca will be gone on the eve of the next international break.

    • @footballkush

      Oh lord this defensive outcry, no, Leao's difference is that he hasn't been assisting and scoring enough.
      He has not helped in defence EVER. He has racked up 100 goal contributions in 172 games. Been league MVP and a Ballon d'Or nominee.
      The problem is that when you don't help out in defence enough, you then need to have players around who can, which is why Morata can replace Leao defensively however, in that case Leao MUST convert the attacking chances he gets so that the defensive sacrifice makes sense. He hasn't been doing that, so he's under the microscope.

    • @nathangraegin1850
      @nathangraegin1850 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      @@footballkush leao doesn’t even press my guy, let alone help out left back. And when we are talking about off the ball movement he is next to zero in that category. Leao wants super star money but his only thing going for him is his athletic ability. If you want to be a great player, you have to understand offense and defense he only understands one portion of offense.
      Leao has also never been a consistent goal score so you are hoping that something happens that won’t. Also, we do not have tonali or kessie, those two players are the reason why leao did not have to defend. They are also the reason why theo could make those crazy runs going forward and yet we still are solid if we get counterattack. Since we do not have those two type of players that means our two wingers have to play defense, regardless if they score goals or not.

    If not Fonseca now, then who? Weve seen the management and their decisions of how the way they fired Maldini (after he built Milan AGAIN with young players who have Milanismo in them) to have it dismantled in a season or so. It was all because of Maldinis interview after the semi final Derby in the UCL, and he wasnt wrong, we have a very solid foundation but we need 2 or 3 top players to join. Gerry got offended and fired him in a 2 minute conversation as per numerous reports. Though coming back to the previous question, we had Abate who was doing a fanstastic job and guided Milan to the final of the youth UCL, a true Milanista, who understands what Milan is, and had him fired too. Instead, we got Bonera....we are seeing the results of the futuro team being almost abysml, will he be promoted to take over Fons? Conte and De Zerbi are no longer options? Concecao? Sarri? Ancelotti would be a dream considering his situation the Madrid bench. Even if Fonseca is fired, did the managment learn and will they get a big profile on the bench or will it be another Lopetugi and Fonseca scenario. I cant wait for the day Milan is sold to hopefully an Arab foundation, with Maldini back to where he belongs, having him in Milanello day after day and you always try to impress the best ever defender having his eyes on you. And maybe Tonali back too, but again, just me dreaming. Until then, we are the Italian Leipzig from Temu

With Leao, he seems to be one of the athletes who has to have his ego stroked continually or he withholds performance. Theo seems like that, too. Is Fonseca trying to develop a team spirit instead of a collection of egos, and that's why he's benching? The controversy about who takes penalty kicks that erupted just before the international break seems to me to indicate factions on the team, and I suspect that's what the real issue is here.

      Keep in mind, Theo has had an ego like this from the day he arrived at Milan and he has gone on to become the greatest leftback since Maldini and Leao has gone on to become the greatest attacker maybe since Kaka. I don't blame Fonseca. I blame our ownership. I don't know if they're clueless, cheap, or worst of all, simply don't care, but it's clear that winning silverware, is NOT a goal of this ownership. Regardless of what their pr statements say.

      It’s clear that Redbird only cares about the new stadium and making profitable money. Please may Redbird have their stadium finished ASAP so they sell the club 😂.

    I agree with a lot of the things you said except for being patient with the coach he needs to go. After all the things you said about him destroying the team from the inside out and you want to be patient with him that doesn’t make sense. Hope they lose this weekend so he can get fired

    Why sit both Pulisic and Leao at the same time? I would have just gave 1 of them rest.

      I think yes, because of flu. I hope he had scored that chance created by Chukwueze.

    Ruben Loftus-Cheek , for real I am still wonder what the he doing in the 11 ? My God he is invisible, again no creativity no defense bone , is like we are play 10 vs 11 And Musah just doesn’t help. The only thing clear to day . The coach gave these players the confidence to show something and they failed. They played without enthusiasm, none of them showed why they want to be a starter in a historic team like Milan, they cannot be anyone's replacement. They are simply not at the level , Fofana , Maignan , Pulisic and Leao belong to the first team the rest should be sold , bad investment.

    Fonseca defense is so sketchy... that's the bigger problem.

    Leao started matches and we did lose. Playing Leao would have not made much difference either, his work rate without the ball low. We saw under. Pioli that the strength of the team was solely on the left, when those two were not playing well the team was dead. But now I see this team being competitive with our without those two. They were out best players for long but I think now it's more of a team than before. Leao sitting on the bench especially not inform shouldn't be seen as a problem. Okafor and Co has to also be given same opportunities for them to grow so the team becomes competitive not some players being untouchables. 8 think we have gone past those years. You better up your game from day one and stay discipline or you go home.

      During Pioli's tenure, we always had the upper hand against Napoli. But today, without Theo and Leao, we’re down 0-2. Reality check, huh?
