- Join me in the day of a life of an engineer at Google HQ (googleplex) in Mountain View. I share some of the sights & sounds of working in tech! (Please note, this is an individual channel, and any opinions don't necessarily reflect that of the company TH-cam or Google).
I wonder if some students might be thinking that software engineers live boring & lonely lives, staring at the computer all day in a cave... well, that's... not quite true! hope this video can show some of the funner side of being a software developer :)

@@williamschristopher7405 I'd advice not to use all strategy you watch or read online. Different traders with different strategy. Trying to put all together will only lead to Making losses.

I'm just over 40 and have recently begun to retrain in software development after having had a background in I.T operations and support - so I'm not yet fully skilled and also lack confidence - but I'm determined to get there... Watching this guy gives me some hope lol

Oh to be 18 again :-) The best advice I can give is to do what you enjoy but always keep in mind what people are willing to pay you for as unfortunately, money makes the world go round... As for tech advice I'd say that you should learn\master node and Javascript and maybe a backend language like Golang\Java or C# - other than that, always be yourself and enjoy your life... stay away from drink, drugs and smoking and try and keep as fit as possible - join a Gym... There are a lot of distractions in life and if you don't stay on track you can end up lost and that can take years to happen - try and find love and keep it, in your life - lol, I wish I had followed this advice myself - I wish you the best for the future, I am sure you will do well!

In Germany we say 'Ohne Mampf kein Kampf' which you can translate to 'Theres no fight without (before) a bite'. I guess food is just very important and the actual work might not be that interesting so he just shows a bit of the cool Google campus

Great work! Just subbed. I'm a fireman trying to self teach web dev. I know sounds silly but when I started I didn't know anything about computers. It's taken one year to understand HTML, CSS and a tiny bit of JS. I get my inspiration from guys like u. Keep doing big things. Thanks again!
It's not silly at all. If you see medium.freecodecamp.org there are plenty of inspirational stories from security guards or firemans to housewives and nurses. The motivation is up to you. Keep pushin'!

Google isn't a measure of success. How I live today was unimaginable to me just 5 years ago. I am just passionate about their products and grateful for how they are changing so many lives around the world, including mine.
I don't know if I will succeed in getting a job at Google but I certainly know that I will succeed in my career. 😉 Because I love what I do. Solving design problems is fun to me, doesn't feel like a job.

It looks like the only people putting in a full day are the food service workers. I guess as a guy who works for the electric company I don't understand how you could run a company where your employees work less than 50% of the day they get paid for? And then provide such wonderful benefits. Don't get me wrong, I think there are some benefits that a multi-billion dollar company should provide over a local mom and pop hardware store. But this seems like a waste of shareholders money and like it or not, when you are publicly traded, that is the number one goal.
